On a bright note, I LOVED the custom in the back right corner of the Yamaha booth. I WANT this bike: On another note, I got roped in by the Blaze Anti-fog guys. I have some Fog Off in the garage for my visors, but the Blaze seemed to work well, so got two little containers of the pink paste and a small squirt bottle of the liquid, plus the microfiber towel for $20. Sitting here at my desk this morning, I decide to unscrew the lid of the liquid squirt bottle and take a whiff. Dish soap with orange coloring....

It fell out the bottom of that old couch that you grabbed off of the curb.

I was getting caught up on Netflix, and totally missed season five. Anyone have any links where I can watch the episodes? TIA

Your initial contention was that one cannot be patriotic unless they've actively served, correct? Nobody here claimed to be more or less patriotic than anyone else. Now you're bringing war support into this? Really? I don't wish war upon anyone, even though I've never witnessed one. Just because I support and appreciate our military doesn't mean that I want them to be in harms way. I'm thankful that they do what they do. The stress on themselves and their families is incredible. And now Daddy Biden wants to cut their pay. The best sign of a strong military is having one that you never have to use. We used to be that power, because of our military. Now its neutered, the world realizes it, and we get daily news of Iran or N. Korea "testing nukes", seeing how far they can push us. Obama (and Bush) have crippled our military, and want to weaken it even more. We used to be the worlds peacekeepers, and now we're another also-ran. Who refuses to pay for them? Obama is still financing them (on our backs), but won't let the soldiers fight to win. He said he'd shut down Gitmo, end the wars, bring the military home. Five years ago.
-
In your eyes, maybe. That doesn't even make any sense.
-
Yeah, we know. You're the most patriotic. Its a good thing that your past and record are spotless. Although its hard for someone in the public spotlight to have that same luxury. Tactic #1: Character assassination. Dems used it to get Herman Cain out of the race, to hurt Romney, and anyone else whom they deem as a threat. They're gonna go after Rubio now, then the next minority who speaks out against them. But again, turn a blind eye to the scumbags in their own party. Typical.
-
Yeah, because we've all said that Ted is the second coming, and that he is untouchable, kind of like you guys and your Obama blindness. Libs are infamous for turning up one dirty sock in a clean sock drawer. You pick a point and belittle the person who screwed up, UNLESS they're in your party. Like guys flying to the Dominican Republic on a donors private jet to have forced sex with little girls, but your media ignores your shortcomings. Look at the media's response to Rubio's speech last night. The focus isn't on what he said, because you can't make a valid point against it, so your media, under direction from your leaders staff, decide to make him look foolish for the way he got a drink of water. If the media told the truth, and covered issues impartially (excoriate both parties), the political environment would be much different. Again, the understanding and caring liberals take the path of shredding a persons character in order to tear them down so that the issue/ facts will get covered up and ignored. Why are you more of a patriot than the next guy? Whomever he may be. Name him and tell us why. We already know why you feel that you're more of a patriot than Ted.
-
Yep. We're the tools because we disproved your assertion that in order to be a patriot one has to have served in the military. We're not saying that we're more patriotic than anyone else. YOU are the one who asked why Ted is considered a patriot. We responded. Nice try on the twist 'n spin, though.

Sounds like he was a modern-day liberal, maybe protesting a war he didn't agree with. That was then. This is now. People change. I'm not the same person I was at 18. “If you're not a liberal at twenty you have no heart, if you're not a conservative at forty you have no brain.” - Winston Churchill

Wutzdat? Down this way? Is that the cart in Miamisburg?

So are you saying that you're a veteran? If so, thank you very much for serving. My dad is retired USAF, and tried to get me to join up. I didn't, so I must not be a patriot. I love this country, and it tears me apart to see what is happening to it. But, I'm not a patriot. I think that the Pledge of Allegiance should be part of morning announcements in every school in this country. But I can't be a patriot, because I didn't serve directly (though I went to every new assignment with my parents for 18 years, and went to 14 schools in 12 years). I wish that better government classes were taught in schools, so people would understand whats going on. So people would understand what this country was founded upon. But I can't be a patriot because I didn't serve. I actually agree with you about Veterans keeping our country free, and I can't imagine the frustration that they must feel by having their powers neutered and being told that they can't carry loaded weapons in some combat zones. Under W, and under Obama. They've both worked at knocking us down from being a superpower. Our military is the base of being a superpower. The thought that you have to have served in the military in order to love your country and be proud of it is preposterous. And just because someone served in the military doesn't automatically mean that they ARE patriotic. The Muslim who shot up Ft Hood a couple of years ago is a good example. And no, I'm not questioning your patriotism, nor anyone else who served. I'm just making that point that your blanket statement doesn't hold water.

I like the front of the fairing version, but the back looks bargain basement. Can't exactly put my finger on it. It is a 700, though, so doesn't need to be too beefy. People have been screaming for inexpensive "in between" bikes with reasonable price tags for a long time. This may fit the bill. Will it turn out to be a chick bike? I like the burnt color, too.

And if in Greenville, you GOTTA stop at MaidRite. Gotta.

Its talk. Like all the liberal f-tards who threatened to leave the country if W was re-elected, but are still here (unfortunately). What says that you have to serve in the military to be a patriot? Uhm, nothing. What makes him a patriot? He's a patriot because he loves this country as it was founded, and he speaks up for it. He's a patriot because he SUPPORTS our military unreservedly. He's a patriot because he supports the Constitution (vs a liberal who thinks its an "old outdated piece of paper"). Are YOU a patriot?

I'm not real insightful or anything, but liked the timing of Lori's "ghost". Rick is Mr. Leader, and the noob group has been biding their time waiting to meet him. He meets them, puts up a tough front, then freaks out. The noobs must be thinking "WTH?". "Nobody's getting shot". Where did everyone go when they went upstairs, and will Rick really kick the Noobs all out of the prison? I didn't read the comic books, so don't be a spoiler re: Tyrese.

Camp Washington is an experience. I've eaten there a couple of times. Never had Empress. I like the history of most of the places. "Cincinnati Chil" in general is like Marions Piazza. People either love it or hate it. There doesn't seem to be much in-between. I'm a Skyline fan, but crave Gold Star coney's every so often. Skyline quality reallly depends on which one you eat at, and whether its a franchise store or a company store. Company stores tend to be cleaner and a little more generous with their cheese. The Dayton Mall store is owned by a granddaughter of the founders (IIRC), and is always spotless and friendly. The Lebanon store is dirty and the people always act like they'd really rather go stand by the back door and finish their cigarette. When my parents come to town, Skyline is always a stop on their way in to town. They live near Dallas. Years ago, I told dad that he should franchise down there. "No. It wouldn't work. This isn't chili". I agreed once I thought about it. I've taken to making my own at home with seasoning packets from Kroger. Add 2 lbs of meat instead of 1-1.5.

Lets see if we can turn this into a political argument somehow...

A frisbee, an hour and a half, and a brand new VMax.

Used to have HSA, but switched to a high deductible plan ($5700 indiv/ $5700 family). Yeah, after the ded is met, the insur pays at 100%. The surgery center wants to put me on a payment plan for about $5550 (my outstanding ded), "and then everything else you do for the year will be free". $5700 plus a years worth of premiums ($7200) is more than I'm willing to throw out there at this time. I realize I'm going to pay the premiums regardless of surgery, so thats a zero sum issue. In mentally weighing the pros and cons of the surgery, the pros don't outweigh the cons. Yet. -

I'm not mad at the doc. Can't blame him a bit. I am mad at the system. I don't have the answer for fixing it. I used to be a social worker, and got gently nudged out of it by a guy who was a great boss. "You've got to find something else to do". He didn't fire me, but lit a fire under me. I got sick of the welfare moms coming into our agency trying to get their perfectly fine/ normal gets diagnosed with ADHD so they could get a bigger check. I've been fed up with the system, and bitter, for a looooong time. Thanks to all for the good insight/ advice/ thoughts. I appreciate it. -

So what is the outcome? Any issues? From the stuff I see online, some folks go 20 years with no issues. And what did the rehab consist of? The lady whom I spoke to yesterday was very nice. She said "Thank goodness you're not crying. I have lots of people cry when they call in like this". I. Bet. They. Do! She said "the doctor will probably advise you to have the surgery", to which I replied "Of course he will. Its a $10k payday for him". I realize he won't get all of that, but still. -
My 50k btu kerosene heater decided to take a dump. Went to use it last week, and it "surges" its cycle and makes really horrible odors. Played with the air/ vac adjustments, and it didn't help. It was Saturday, and as I was trying to adjust it outside the garage, my neighbor asked why I was heating the outdoors. He let me use his little 35k btu propane heater which attaches to a 20lb propane tank (like you use for your grill). I LOVED it. Small, light, no noxious fumes, etc. I hunted for one to buy, but everyone is out of stock (end of season). I stumbled on one at Tractor Supply called a Mr Heater Hero Cordless heater. Researched it on Amazon ( http://tinyurl.com/ah7lp6l ). TSC Springboro has them marked down to $119 (from about $180), and had them in stock, so I grabbed one. LOVE IT. No need to use the cordless feature yet, but I like the flexibility. The combustion is louder than the fan. Note: The Amazon reviews reference a LOT about the fan having to be "on" prior to ignition. In the one I got, this has been addressed by Mr Heater, and there is a safety lockout whereby the fan has to be running first. This is SOOOO much smaller than my big 50k unit. So far, no negatives. Tiny, quiet, flexiible.

I was playing disc golf last summer with the family, and just like I do with regular golf, I tried to double bogey the par 5 as if I were Mickelson playing sudden death for a million bucks. And every time I do it, I think something like "its a par-5 for a reason, dumbass". I pull back, let her fly, and feel a screaming pain in my right shoulder. Because I'm a guy, I ignore it for six months even though it wakes me up 4-5 times a night. Late December, I go see an ortho doc. Tells me its a SLAP tear, orders an MRI with dyes, and sends me on my way. Get the MRI, he's correct. The tear extends along the whole back of the labrum, from the 6 o'clock to 12 o'clock positions. I go see him, and he recommends one of his colleagues. I go to see the colleague (he was in the Kettering Superbowl commercial, so must be good, right?), and he tells me how he wants to sew the labrum back to the bone using anchors and thread. Okay. We schedule it for late February. Of course no mention has been made by anyone re: cost of this thing. I'm self employed, and our family insurance premiums are weighty (even though we're healthy for the most part) with a highhhhh deductible. I decide to make a couple of calls on Thursday. They are using three billing codes which total about $3500. Hmmmm, okay, this may not be too bad, but that sounds awfulllllly cheap. I make another call, and a lady researches it and calls me back on Thurs afternoon. Essentially, once the hospital adds their charges, you figure in the anesthesiologist, etc, that frisbee throw is gonna cost about $15,000 (about the cost of a FatBob or Vmax). The outpatient surgery should take about an hour and a half. I'll have to be off of work for two weeks totally, and rehab will take at least three months, and maybe up to six. No trabajo, no dinero. I realize that there will be increasing abilities/ permissions as rehab/ healing progress. I'm floored, and I'm pissed. I start thinking that if I were an illegal or a loser welfare POS, I wouldn't be paying anything for this. Then I start thinking about it being so expensive partly BECAUSE I'm paying for those people to get theirs, too. Then I start thinking about how much of my money goes to taxes. Then I start thinking about how the hospital looks like a five star hotel. etc etc etc I've started researching consequences of not getting this repaired. Its really not a big hindrance. Honestly. I need to go hit some golf balls and see how that goes. I didn't sleep very well last night... Sorry. Need to vent.

No More Saturday Mail...Unless It's a Package
YSR_Racer_99 replied to BadTrainDriver's topic in Dumpster
This will be interesting. It seems that a "day off" (like a Monday holiday) really throws off the carriers. We have curbside delivery, and the carrier flies through here like a tasmanian devil on a NORMAL day/ week. When there is a holiday early in the week, the next day has her typically running 2-3 hours later than she normally does. One day less wil really backlog things for them on Monday. I'd hate to be a carrier. Under any circumstances. They need to get out from under Congressional control, which they've been asking for for years. Fedex and UPS have great tracking of their millions of packages, but just try to track something via USPS. Government screws up all that it touches, and the USPS is a prime example. Inefficiency in action.
