  1. Thanks man. You may have just saved me a fortune. Family LOVES wings, and our go-to is BW&R in Centerville. Like you said, they're now over a buck PER WING unless you go on Tues night, then they're "only" $.79 each. That helps, but stilllll. Will give these a try. If it doesn't work, may look into one of the mini fryers, like a Fry Daddy or something. It would pay for itself quickly.
  2. I was going to post a review on here for my new Alien Gear IWB, and found this recent post. Ordered five days prior via Ebay and received it yesterday. I realize that two days is pretty short for a good review, but thought I'd offer my first impressions. For comparison, I use a Comp Tac Minotaur MTAC for my other carry, and this Alien Gear appears to be nearly the same but at 40% of the price. It isn't. Its better, and I'm ordering another one (AG) today for my other carry. I wore the MTAC quite a bit, and could never forget that it was there. I could never get it adjusted quite right, and the best I could get out of it as far as unholstering was that I'd have to twist the gun grip about 1/8" or so in order to release the gun. I think it was due to how the Kydex was holding the trigger guard area. I haven't even played with adjustments yet on the AG, and it feels, fits, and holds awesomely. Release on the pistol is much more friendly, and again it hasn't been adjusted at all. The holster comes with an extra set of hardware and bushings for fine tuning the fit. AG has all the features of the CompTac, plus the hardware to adjust further. Now if AG would only include Smarties when they ship... So far, very very happy with my purchase. Oh yeah, the CompTac is now for sale. Fourth Gen G19. Tan leather. $49.
  3. For some reason reminds me of a Swatch (age-check here). Does anyone really need a watch anymore, except as an accessory for going out clubbing? And of course its got to be the biggest dinner-plate-sized chromed out chunk of bling that you can fit on a wristband....
  4. Scuba, Expect a scathing email from my angry wife shortly after one of these shows up at my house. She's gonna go off on me, and I'm gonna point both index fingures straight at you, ZZ Top style. I've always like the 2nd gen Z's, and should have grabbed the one at Clinton County when they had it at $8k (Kaw was running a promotion, I think).
  5. >> Anyone wants to tag along that isn't an asshat is welcome << You lost 99% of ORDN right there. Have fun, be safe.
  6. Awww man, I thought this was re: KTM. Carry-on.
  7. Cheap Cycle Parts Would buy local if it was close and well-priced. Nothing fits that criteria at the moment. Clinton Co is my go-to place for a quick must-have or just to browse. CCP had some CS issues awhile back, said they were changing systems. I think it was growing pains as well. Good service, quick delivery, great prices. No complaints.
  8. That'll work. I made mine from a piece of 1/4 aluminum bar stock I had in the garage and some generic gasket material I also had laying around. Its not a high-pressure area, just need something to keep the dirt out.
  9. I don't know about the Honda's, but I'd eat a rear set every year or so on my Z400, and like most, I don't use them all that much. Removed the parking brake mechanism, and haven't replaced them in a long time. P-brake was making them rub the disk, regardless of how it was adjusted. For the Z they sell block off plates, but you can fab your own for a quarter.
  10. http://www.newstalkradiowhio.com/news/news/local/two-motorcycles-truck-collide-germantown/nZ4zc/ My first thought when I saw the photo was "Is that Exarch's?". Nope. Good.
  11. I called and placed my deposit on a Grom about seven weeks ago at a semi-local Honda Power Dealer. "We've got a list of people who want to be called when the Groms come in, but no hard deposits yet. You get your choice of color, and the first one in the door is yours". Sweet. I called the salesman twice over that seven week period to see if he had heard anything, and emphasized on the second call that I wanted to receive a black Grom in the crate. "Why do you want it in the crate?". "Because I don't want one that the shop staff have been wheelying and doing stoppies on out behind the shop". "Okay". I started bouncing around here on Hondagrom.net and other forums on Thurs Aug 15 when there were reports of the bikes starting to arrive. I was anxious because this is the first new bike I've bought in 20 years, and because we were leaving very early morning on the 17th to go out of state on vacation. "When the bike comes in, we'll call you". Friday comes and goes, and no word from the dealer. I took the day off from work in order to get ready for vacation, and had a relaxed day. Saturday morning Aug 17th we're on the road two states away when my phone rings at 10am. Its my sales guy and he says (you guessed it...) "your bike is HERE!". I explained to him that we were on our way out of town for a week of vacation, and the earliest I can pick it up it Monday Aug 26. He confirms that its still in the crate, verbally confirms the date, and he even texts me a photo of the bike in the crate, back in the warehouse/ shop. I told him to put it in a corner in the shop, forget about it, and I'd be in on Monday 28th to get it. "Okay". I ask him when they came in. "They came in yesterday" (Friday, the day which I had nothing major going on). I ask him why he didn't call me, and he says "I was off yesterday. The other two buyers came and got theirs. Yours is the only one left". (Note: I THINK that the other two buyers must have seen them on Facebook or been on their "call list". I don't do Facebook, and didn't see that they had come in. On Tuesday afternoon I get a call from him. "We took it out of the crate. Do you still want it?". WHAT?!?! "Why did you do that?" "Sales manager told me to. We have some locals who want to see it, so we put it out on the floor. Do you still want it?". "No. I told you that I wanted it in the crate, you agreed, and I am the only one confident enough that I wanted it to actually put money down and wait". So he says "We're working with the regional Honda rep to get another black crated one in here for you". Huh? No dealer is going to have "extra Groms" sitting around. "Yeah, sorry". I went in yesterday (Mon 08/26) because I was in the area for work, and made sure that my deposit was refunded. I ask the sales mgr why nobody called me on Friday 16th when the bikes came in. "we just didn't think about it. Sorry". One person puts a hard deposit on a sought-after bike, the other two bikes in the shipment fly out the door the same day that they come in, and NOBODY in a Power Dealer dealership thinks to give the deposit guy a phone call? Amazing. Big dealership physically, but on the occasions that I've been in there, they have never been very busy. I figured that they probably sold "my bike" early last week to one of the locals who were so anxious to see one. Nope. Sold it Saturday the 26th to a buyer from Indiana. "we sold all three to out of state buyers". (They rec'd three in the shipment, two black and one red). Saved themselves one day (sold Sat, closed Sun, and I would have picked it up Mon). On the bright side, a buyer from Indiana just moved up one spot in the queue and will get the next Grom that this dealer receives. And I've still got $3500 in my pocket (figuratively).
  12. My blue arrow disappeared from the regular menu, but is still in the choices when I use the car dock. I use Nav almost daily, and was initially disappointed in the change UNTIL I used the new version. I now like the changes, and the multiple route options. I typically map out a route on my desktop using Google maps of anywhere from 3-8 properties all over the place. It SEEMS that this info is xferring indirectly to the phone app, as when I go to type in the "next" address, its already on the choice list on the phone. Are they tracking me too much? Yep. But they're tracking me anyhow... I'm giving the "new" version two thumbs up. Give it some time. Someone mentioned no GPS if you lose cell coverage. I don't think this is the case as my Razr M seems to have its own GPS, not related to cell towers. It uses cell towers as a secondary locator, I believe.
  13. Noooooo. Parted it out on ebay a few years ago. But thank you.
  14. No worries (wait. Should I let this annoy me???). I don't see it as a PC thing, but more of a courtesy thing. I don't see the point in calling midgets "little people" when everyone is thinking "Yeah, whatever. He really means "midget"... Its mostly wait staff that annoy me by saying it. I'm sure that no offense is intended, and in general none is received, it just "gets my attention". "May I have a carryout box?". "Sure, here you are". "Thank you" "No problem". "So if it WAS a problem, would I have had to get up and get it myself? Just curious". Yeah, its a dickhead thing on my end (right, Desmo?), but hey. Actually, I've never come back at anyone with a smartass comment like that, but its probably getting close.
  15. Sounds like it would be easier to adopt a child. Search CL or a Sunday paper for a free dog. They make the best pets, anyhow.
  16. Who? Me? Or Scruit? (or both...)
  17. It seems like this is everywhere all of a sudden. Instead of "You're welcome", people are throwing out "No problem" when I say "Thank you". Even professionals whom I deal with. This is NOT the same as "you're welcome". Its more of a brush-off comment which trivializes the whole exchange. "No problem? Really? Are you SURE? Because if it IS a problem, I REALLY want you to let me know. Seriously.".
  18. Is the IRS shutting you down? We KNOW they've been monitoring here.
  19. Because that stand was being used to hold the teleprompter screen... I can't believe this thread is still going (he wrote, as he kept it going.... yeah yeah yeah).
  20. I have a CRG bar end mirror on my left bar. using MX bars on a SV1k. Love it. convex design, and lets me see all I need to behind me. Pricey. Aluminum. http://tinyurl.com/agmzemp
  21. I've got the pages PDF'ed. Can I get them to him other than emailing? i.e. can I post them on here somehow?
