  1. Yeah! Shame on him for being pissed that his property is being overrun and he's not allowed to defend it! ST: You would allow strangers into your house to take whatever they want?
  2. Are these pretty universal? I've ordered a set of ProTaper universal rubber-mounted bar mounts, and it states that you have to use your own cones, but I aint got none. Any recommendations on what make/ model/ year to get them from? I've seen the aluminum replacements, but am interested in the vibration damping (though the SV isn't that bad). http://www.protaper.com/products/triple-clamps/bar-mounts/universal-rubber-mounts
  3. Thats why I'm putting MX bars on the SV, so I can take it to Wayne. Not.
  4. I think you're gonna have to keep repeating that. EVERYONE: BACK OFF
  5. I gotta agree with this. Currently on my SV1k with the GSXR front end and rear wheel mods. Bought the stocker and made the mods based on how much fun I had on my 03 sv650. spec sheets say the only major difference is 40lbs heavier for the 1k (I was taking the GSXR front end off of the 650, so different forks didn't matter in my decision). 650 handled awesome. 1k not so much. Thinking about going back to a 650. Great, great bike, esp with the conversion (its all bolt-on) and a great winter project. I've got MX bars and risers coming for mine. I've got an extra top triple clamp and want to give it a try. And I'm realllllly trying to talk myself out of a 2013 Z1000....
  6. Is it winter time already?? I'd show up, but I'm afraid to see what Brown might ride in on.
  7. ANOTHER SV?!?!?! Kind of like the two-fiddy invasion a couple of months ago. Very cool. Welcome.
  8. When I used to eat them, I was at the counter at Arby's one day and ordered a Beef 'n Cheddar. I pointed at the nice photo up on the menu board and said "I want it to look like that one". The girl looked me in the eyes and said "It won't. We don't make them like that". "But thats what you have advertised". "It won't look like that. Do you still want it?". I took it, and it made my stomach hurt like they always did. The Arby-Q, on the other hand... Regardless of how it looks, I could live on those. Smother it in Horsey sauce and I'm goooood.
  9. Should be slower turn-in than you're used to.
  10. Stock are quiet because they're so restrictive. Anything aftermarket is gonna make more noise, and likely to be straight-through. Your stock silencer internals probably have walls and twists in there. Most bike forums have a "modified the stock silencer" threads for that model. Maybe as simple as drilling out the pea shooter. Dig around a little.
  11. I can't believe this thread is still going. This (above) applies to most things. Whats the old saying? "An unhappy customer tells ten friends, a happy one doesn't tell any", or something like that? Dude had a bad experience and told us about it. I look at IM bikes on CL once in awhile, and if I ever decided to buy from them, this guys experience would be in the back of my mind.
  12. Story: Is this the "$270/ month for four years" bike? (Edit: Nope. This one: http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/mcy/3134763734.html )
  13. Thank you. Sorry, just saw the comment.

  14. Blame socialized healthcare. The thief figured that the OP would die before getting treated. Thankfully, he didn't. (Really though, thats soooo messed up).
  15. Circle track just like the movie (mountains in the background and everything). With all of the high schools cutting athletics, there are free race tracks for these things all over the country. I smell a series....
  16. Week or so ago (IIRC), Scruit was writing about one of his encounters where the guy said "I've been down a dozen times without gear..." (or something like that). The guy you helped is probably one of those types. Kudos to you for helping him out.
  17. Western Union: Never used it. I thought they only sent money to Mexico. USPS: Slow, unreliable, impractical. Been there, done that, didn't like it. Actually, I agree with your earlier statement about "don't use them if you don't want to pay them for their service". From now on, I'll cover the fee or workout something with the other party. I'm not going to perpetuate this thread any longer. I think that Josh and I got it worked out (thx, Josh), and would like to see the thread fade away. Thx Jeff
  18. Wouldn't come out of my end. FWIW, I've pretty much stopped selling on ebay because of the fees. When all is said and done, the ebay and paypal fees (which are the same company) add up to about 15-18%. If someone can save 3% of that, good for them.
  19. I've done it, and had it done, with no problems. Doesn't seem that its gonna be a problem with this one, either. I don't view Josh as a "complete stranger" though I've never met him since he's a member here, and active on the boards. Not a big deal. Don't be shakin' that big bald head at me! 20. I checked my "sent" pm folder, and its completely empty. Nothing in there at all. Dunno. Josh: I appreciate him looking into that, and seeming to be a standup guy about the whole thing. I'll update you via PM.
  21. No, you haven't. You haven't answered the last two, including the second where I asked you to return my money. I've seen you on here for awhile, so have trust in you. I've never met you, and didn't ask anyone to vouch for you. I'm not sure how people having met you on a Deals Gap trip can be used as a character testimonial. "Have the balls to talk to (you) first"? I'm open for suggestions on that, as I would have loved to. I don't have your phone #, though I gave you mine in the same memo where I gave you my address, and you're not answering my PMs. I should have gone to Paypal, dug up the transaction, and emailed you, I suppose. You were still posting here on OR, but again, not answering my PMs. My frustration on this is higher than it probably should be, but when I feel like I'm being avoided after I sent someone cash, I get pretty sensitive. I agree that you can't control the post office, but it really shouldn't take over a week for the package to get here, wouldn't you agree? I bought a few Ebay things last week, and an item from Riders Discount (Michigan). Everything was here in 2-3 days. I appreciate you looking in to it. Thank you. I'm sure this is all some sort of mixup, and we'll get it worked-out. Though I understand that it looks that way, I'm not trying to label Josh as a liar or thief, and I could have worded the first post differently. Again, my frustration/ sensitivity is higher than it probably needs to be about this. In my eyes, I sent the money quickly, I didn't rec'v the item as quickly as I thought I should have, then my communiques weren't getting anwered even though the person was active on the board. Smelled like avoidance to me.
  22. http://www.soundracer.se/ Not what you're talking about, I know. I want one of these, but not $40 worth of "want", plus I don't have a manual tranny.
  23. "It shipped last Monday", yet still hasn't arrived. Received a shipment from Cali within 3 days, yet after a week I haven't rec'd an intra-state mailing. And now my PMs aren't getting answered. "Send payment as a gift through Paypal". Okay, I understand that. But now I don't have any recourse through them. grumble grumble grumble.
  24. Under the "Ohio Riders" figurative banner, correct?
