  1. OK, I do not have any experience with cruiser but, 555 has got to be a work out regardless of pace. Horsing around a 700 lbs bike for 45 minutes ? Guess we will see it tomorrow.
  2. Never mind. I just read through the posts. Hoblick has a good route. 2.5 hours are plenty. Life is good.
  3. Sorry, have not been actively following developments. Still in Oklahoma. I will get us back to Columbus no problem. ( 7 -284-124-681-33A) My thought was to pick up 33 in Athens for a quick (?) run home. One thing though, I doubt that we'll get to Pomeroy by noon on the triple nickle run if we are still in Picktown at 9:30. This ride has gone from slabbing it to a hell of a work out. Is everyone up for this?
  4. OK this sounds really good. Hocking to the river? Some real possibilities.
  5. So you come out on Coonpath. Thats a good place to meet, fuel, and pickup the By-pass. Really not concerned with speed. As a matter of fact an HD rider may be along with me.
  6. Thanks, I will keep that in mind. (Note to self, if ever in Coshocton, do not let Katanas get near you.)
  7. Count me in. I should be back in town by then. Where will you pick up 33? I can be there by about 10 (?) May be I can talk you into coming back on old US 33:D
  8. Sorry I missed the ride yet again. May be next time. OK I just got to know. What's with the Katana curse? They were decent bikes in their day.

One of those scooter guys like to ride on the wrong side of the road. I almost hit him on Clearcreek Road Not sure who was more startled. All those bicycles together were kind of cool and more courteous than the usually bunch moving obstacles. Helping them would be kind of nice.
  10. Work your way down to Route 50. Its pretty scenic between Chillicothe (no idea how to spell it) and Athens. It has a few nice sweepers as you near Athens. Work your way through the town an pick up old 33 by the BP station. It is now called 33-A or Darwin Road. At 50 MPH it is scenic, at 80 it is very very cool. It dead ends into 681. If you take a left it will take you to the river and 124. Warning, 681 will make your friend sick. If you turn right pick up 33 and head to Pomeroy about 10 -15 minutes away. 124 will take you either to Marietta or or Galliapolis. Cant go wrong either way. If you can get there by lunch time meet some of the other OR riders at the Crazy Horse in Pomeroy.

    356,143, 681

Now that was a good Saturday morning ride. 356 between 56 and 50 is freshly paved and gnarly. Unfortunately the good people of Ohio want to protect us by putting gravel on the edge. The cars are throwing it all over the place. Fuckers can't stay on the road! Still a fun road. 681 to Albany is boring but pretty. The first couple of miles are ok but after that its straight. Passed Athens its closed for repairs. The good news is that from 33 to the river its excellent. Sort of like a cross between the good parts of 37 and 555. 143 is scenic winding road with some nice squiggly sections thrown in.
  12. Yes, I have a route in mind. I was trying to post a map but keep ending up with a dead link. I will just dick around with it until it works. Yes, I did read the instructions, after fifth try.
  13. I am happy to report that Millie's is as good as ever. They remodeled the place. Its nice but, I liked the "hole in the wall" atmosphere better. The Crazy Horse is upscale for Pomeroy. Hell, it would be a nice restaurant anywhere. Good find!
  14. 555 is really tempting but, I want to explore some of the squiggly roads south of Athens. I am determined to find and link enough of them to make a worth while ride to the Ohio River. About 200 miles seems to be a nice quick Morning ride.
  15. Hell, yes! :lets-eat:I called them this morning to make sure there will save some for me. Pretty cool people in general. I will take a quick look at the Crazy Horse while there.
  16. Thinking about going to Pomeroy/Middleport to get some lemon meringue pie. Quick ride through hocking take 50 to Albany 681 to the river. 124 south for a bit pick up 7 to Millie's. Take 143 back to 50. 358 to 56 back Hocking and home. Have not been on these roads in 15 years but they were fun in turbo RX7. Seriously, the PIE is the objective:D. Thinking 5 hours round trip. Allow an hour to eat:rolleyes:. Back to Canal Winchester for the blues and jazz fest in the afternoon. Anyone interested drop me a note.
  17. John, as soon as the plans settle I will post it
  18. A full house 10 mm is pretty stout even in my full size Glock. Most loadings on the market are the FBI light 10. No better than the 40 S&W. The ammo for the 10 is outrageously expensive unless you reload. I actually got a conversion barrel for mine so I can practice with the .40
  19. Sounds good. I have a half ass route in mind. Although I have not been on some of these roads in about 10 years. They still look good on Google Map. Will try to post the route to see what people think.
  20. I have been planning a pie run to Millie's in Middleport. That is pretty much the same town, Epic pies and cakes. This could be a hell of an outing.
  21. Sorry I have to be in Sunbury by 7:30 AM on that Saturday.
  22. Excellent day. I got really soaked on the way back to OTT. Should have stuck with you guys at the restaurant. Good to finally meet all of you.
  23. Are you still planing to hit Hocking on Sunday?

  24. I don't want to confuse anyone but, pick up Carroll Northern off 256. Take the first right in Carroll and cross 33 at McDonalds. Follow that road all the way to OTT.
  25. OMG, An RD-400 was the first street bike I ever rode. It brings back memories. Come to think of it, they are not all good memories. The coil is a POS!!! Any way that is a really cool find. Good luck with the rebuild.
