  1. Oh, so the primer pushed into the plug instead of onto a nipple?  I watched a video on the optima, that quick removable br. plug looks sweet.  Man have they improved the ol muzzy's in the past several years.  Makes me feel like mine is an antique....lol

  2. 93 Year Old Kills “Knock-Out Game” Thug

"She was waiting for the bus that would take her downtown. That is when everything changed for the worse. She was waiting at the bus stop and suddenly she felt the sharp pain on the left side of her body. The force was so strong it knocked her down. When she looked up she could see a group of thugs just laughing at her. One of them started kicking her. Before they could hurt her anymore she reach for her purse, pulled out her gun and shot the main assailant. Thankfully the rest ran away after that. She was terrified, she was sure they were going to kill her.

A homeless man who witnessed the attack told reporters that Bennett acted like a superhero. “I saw her get sucker punched from behind really hard. She hit the ground and then they all started kicking her. She got this huge gun out of her purse and BOOM! Headshot! Game over son, you know what I’m saying? Poor n*gga never had a chance.”

Bennett was robbed about a year prior to this incident. Her Attorney for that case prompted her to get her concealed weapons permit. She took all the required classes and received her permit shortly after. She said if she had not knows what that group of kids would’ve done to her.

Bennett was taken to the hospital with scrapes and bruises and was released later on that day. It is not clear yet if she will seek help, counseling or rehabilitation. She has considered teaching classes in gun safety. However, for now she is just happy she is recovering, alive and well. As for her 21 year old attacker, he was pronounced dead at the scene from a bullet wound to the head."

  4. You all are going to have a blast riding the Rockies.  I am planning a ride out to Pocatello, Idaho maybe a little later in June, but I'm taking 3 nights to get there....lol, if I make it.  A few years back a friend went riding solo up into Glacier Park and was never heard from again.  They did a massive search and never found anything of him after his last stop (cc receipt) at a small gas stop headed up into Glacier.  Guess you never know.  Another friend and his wife used to rdie all over the west.  When she passed away last year he decided to do a ride through every state that he and she had ridden through trying to re trace their route.  He said it almost religious riding solo through the western lands.

You guys are going to have a gas gas gas.

  5. The pot chl. goes for about $25 a bag at Krogers here locally.  It is expensive and can be hard to find.  We just want to cut down out salt intake and with the Hague it will use either salt or non salt stuff, just needs to be set whichever way you are going.  They claim by using the pot. chl. you are going to use less.  For my wife and I we go through 3 bags every 4 months or so.  Can't really compare this to how much salt we would use, we have always used the non salt stuff with the Hague.  In Michigan we first had a Culligan but it could not get the rust and hard water down enough.  Then we went with a Kenmore, their top of the line.  The culligan recharged according to the times we had it set to, but the Kenmore only re charged when needed, so the amount of salt used went down, and so did our power consumption.  When we moved here there was no softener.  I had to replace a shower fixture and it broke in half because of the hard water buildup inside of it.  Since getting a softener our water is crystal clear with no hardwater problems and its darned near spot free when we wash the bikes.  Seems like it cost us around $1800 installed.

  6. Our Hague works great for us.  We don;t use salt, instead its potassium chloride to help with the salt.  Think about the amount of water you consume daily at home and it can be quite a bit of extra salt going into your body.

  7. i just can't fathom any scenario where one would think that driving on 20 year old tires is a good idea. maybe if they were somehow hermetically sealed or something... but a tire you find lying around in the barn? no way... thats just asking for a tire to come apart. gonna cost more to repair all the damage from the wreck than you save by putting some random tire on.

I have taken tires in to have mounted and been turned down because they were too old, and they weren't 20 yrs old, more like 5 or so.  That was at Discount Tire.

  8. I won't fight you on Kanye being an idiot - he's exhibited idiotic behavior on many occassions, but what factual support do you have for Miley Cyrus being a "skank?"

I think she's a brilliant manipulator of the media and public perception.  She's managed to transition from child-star to a viable adult musical artist, stay in the limelight for "controversial," but ultimately harmless displays of sexuality and/or marijuana use (most notably on stage, in Amsterdam ...where it's 100% legal.), and has put out some damn catchy music along the way.

I don't expect everyone to be a fan, but calling her a "skank" is just petty.

Everyone has their own opinion I guess.  Mine is not a good one concerning Cyrus.  To me there is showmanship, entrepreneurship, and all that, but there is also stepping over the line into exhibitionism and mortification., and in my opinion, she stepped over that line.  Imho, she is nasty,  skanky and a disgrace.

Skank-Derogatory term for a (usually younger) female, implying trashiness or tackiness;a sleazy or unpleasant person.

  9. LOL, when I bought my muzzy I bought the scope along with it, had it mounted up.  I think the gun cost me like $99 and the scope....several hundred dollars.  Like I said tho, I am very glad I did it and have killed plenty of deer with the combo so it works for me!

When I bought it, it had a beautiful wood stock.  Then one morning I was pulling the gun up into my treestand and the rope broke and when the gun hit the ground it broke the stock in half.  The only stock I could find without ordering one, was a black synthetic one.  It works, but man do I miss the looks of the wood stock.

  10. Yep, some of those questions were bunk, nothing to do with maintenance. And the tire pressure question....I got it right but I always look on the tire for the pressure not the door frame.    Different tires, even when the correct size, can call for more pressure, and I want to match the requirement for the tires.

It was a fun test but really means nothing.

  11. Wow, that looks like an awesome muzzy....all set for a scope.  Get the very best you can afford.  I like my leupold......it gathers a ton of light so shooting in lesser light scenario's is cool.  Too bad you're all the way up by Cleveland, would like to go out target practicing sometime.  Well, get lots of practice in so you can make a clean kill first shot.

    Best of luck!

  12. I was taught to carry some wet patches and dry patches in my ditty bag.  After a shot and still in the field, to swab the barrel with a wet one, then a dry one then reload.  That helps keep some of the build up from the powder in the barrel.  After all that, the second shot will not zero in the same as the first shot did.  Mine is consistently off a bit high and slightly to the right, iirc.  So you can adjust your aim to account for this, so I would practice with a first shot (clean barrel), and also practice some on second shots, however you are going to do that, so you can see where your aim goes after that first shot.  Another thing you might want to also do this so you can practice some speed ( and how to keep quiet) at reloading to get that second shot off.

    just my $.02.....

  13. Took the biggest in the group. 90 on the scale. Enjoyable afternoon of watching deer. Watched one bed down at 80y, then a cute little brown ball of button buck fur walked to the tree stand and took a nap at about 20 yards. Then 7 came into eat 45 minutes later, waited for the perfect shot. Over in 30 seconds.

Should be tender and sweet to eat.....congrats on the deer!

  14. Yesterday evening I was getting into some really think stuff, and tripped over some tree roots after I sunk down in the mud beside a creek.  Fell into the creek face first, gun at port arms.  Lucky enough my suit, gloves and boots were gore tex so I never got wet inside.  But my ditty bags were drenched.  The reload sleeves in carry tho remained high and dry...guess I wasn't submerged long enough....lol. I dropped several feet before hitting the water....sore all over now, my bad arm going numb right down to the bone.  But man I love the hunt.
