  1. I support it. I also support driving competency exams every 2 years after the age of 65.
  2. In this case, I think the punishment should fit the crime. In an exact manner.
  3. Yeah it all depends. If rain isn't going to happen until late in the day/overnight Sunday I will go Sunday and not Monday. I'll know by tomorrow afternoon. Tuesday definitely looks like the best option but sadly I'm stuck working and can't take that particular day off.

  6. If you go Sunday, be careful with rain showers. At this point it looks like I'll be going Monday. If anyone else plans on going Monday, let me know and we can split a garage. If things change with Sunday's forecast tomorrow there's a chance but it's slim at this point.
  7. Sir, do you have a portfolio and resume available? We are always looking for talented designers.
  8. Unless you want to teach, a master's is a waste of $$ in our field With clients that give a negative critique and have no reasoning to back it up, I'll try to explain the 'why' to them before just saying fuck it and doing whatever they want. It's not worth fighting them over things if they have their mind made up. All I want in the end is their money so I can go to the track or some twisty roads.
  9. Awesome, I'll be down for sure. Gimi dat FZ-10.
  10. The biggest problem you can have in the design field is an ego. Sometimes I end up making stuff that I absolutely hate because the client requested it. Often times when I'm giving options, the option I spent the least amount of time on and put the least amount of thought into is the option the client picks. Clients, generally, are looking for something to meet a few basic needs and nothing else matters beyond that. Of course I'll throw in some fluff if I can or try to make it cool if it's super basic but every now and then the client wanted A, I gave them A and they don't want B, C or D to go with it for free. I like it when clients love my work, but I also don't take it personally if they don't. If the client doesn't like my work it means I screwed up somewhere along the way and need to try again. Probably the most important part of the design curriculum at the school I went to, beyond the design foundation classes, were the brutal critiques we were required to give and receive on every project. People running out of the classroom crying and/or dropping out because of what a professor/fellow student said about their work was fairly common. Can't please everyone.
  11. Crossplane sounds so sexy. Only liter inline 4 I'd consider owning.
  12. Ultimately it's up to you but 99% of the people on this forum will tell you it's a bad idea. Honestly if you find a 1k for cheaper than a 500 or 650, it is probably fucked up or stolen.
  13. @yoshiii I'm 6'6 and skirting 300lbs and I will tell you I don't feel like I need a liter bike. My street triple is more than enough for the street and it's got maybe 105 horsepower at the crank.
  14. RR just means race replica. The cbr600rr is Honda's race replica supersport street legal bike. The cbr1000rr is their race replica superbike that's street legal. 600cc and 1000cc inline 4 bikes are not good for starting out. There are some good recommendations on what might make a good starter bike posted early on in this thread. 600cc inline 4's will make 100+ horsepower at the wheel, 120+ if they are tuned. A 650cc twin will make 55 horsepower at the rear wheel, much more manageable for someone just starting out. If you want a good, cheap starter bike, 300cc bikes are inexpensive and hold their value pretty well on the used market. If you're uncertain about fit, go to a dealer and sit on a few bikes and see what feels like it fits. I will tell you that I wish I had started riding on a standard bike instead of a sport bike initially. Being able to ride for longer than a couple hours at a time without feeling like my legs were going to need to be amputated at the knee makes the whole thing so much more enjoyable.
  15. This. You can find a lot of 500-650cc twins for cheap. 60hp is more than enough for a new rider. People do start on 600cc supersports but they are a lot less forgiving and most people will advise against it. As for 1000cc bikes, if you don't have good throttle control and riding habits you will get yourself into trouble really really fast.
  16. Ride plans are fairly spontaneous in my experience, depending on the day and who feels like riding where/at what speed/etc.
  17. I can't even spell it right. Shows how much I know.
  18. I may swing by Jegs this weekend and see if they have the kind I need. I never knew Jegs had a brick and mortar store.
  19. I Initially said I would decide today but I think I'm going to wait until Saturday morning since Sunday's weather has been all over the place. If Sunday doesn't work out, I will be there Monday since I now don't have to be at work until 7pm that day.
  20. MIGHT be able to go Monday now. Need to check with the boss. Weather looking good for Monday...
