We picked up wifi at the cabins from the store last year and we're making FB phone calls.

Here's the crappy video I just hit record on my phone when it was in my x grip and hoped ot would capture something. This video dosnt do it justice, this was a pretty steep down hill with rain wash outs and other obstacles. Stopped the camera about two-thirds of the way down to take a picture of the sign

Been back to the hotel for a while. 320 miles today the second half was much better than the first half. Highlight of the day was a 8 mile round trip up a gravel, rut filled, wash boarded, bolder fill journey up a forest service road to the top of Whitetop Mountian. But the view was worth every butt clinching moment. Also took a video of me coming back down I'll try to up load it tonight.

There is a bridge under construction on 16 just south of Tazewell. They have a traffic light set up at it for the one lane side. Don't sit at it for 5 min like I did, the bike would not trigger the sensor. After 5 min I ended up just running the bitch. Couple dirty corners in the good parts just after the construction. I had one good butt pucker moment then slowed my roll for a while which saved me from the second one. Gas station on the right once your a mile or more passed the green "back of the dragon" sign has tshirts and stickers. Looks like they have sprayed the areas were the Kudzu is growing and it's dying off, dosnt look as cool as ot used to. But I indestand why the did.

Grape Field Rd. was epic, makes my top 10 list. First part was fresh paved and like glass and the second part was some wonderful zig zags through the woods. 16 (back of the dragon) was wonderful as usual and I took601/91 off of it for somthing different, nice winding river road. Looks like I headed for Whitetop mountian now.

So far today's routes have been less than stellar. 97 out of Galax was nice but not very long. 53 north out of Mt Airy sucked till you got past Hillsville then it was nice. Once in Ft Chriswell I slabbed up 77 to 717& 601. I have mixed feelings about this road. It was kind of technical and narrow and very scenic but lots of driveways and dirty corners. 90% of the pavemnet was good then it would turn to shit for maybe a 1/2 mile then be nice again for a while. I enjoyed it just not for the same reasons I do most twisty roads. Grab 42 back west it was a decent pavement road for a while then a lot of construction where they're repaving not very twisty at all. Just took 52 from Bland up and over the mountain getting ready to check out Grape Field Road to Tazewell

At my hotel in Galax 430 miles today. Mostly avoided the interstate maybe only 30 or 40 miles worth. Avoided most of the rain maybe only 1 hours worth, but my gear did it's job and I am dry as a bone. WV 3 and wv 10 were awsome roads but WV 71 was a cow path. Did some nice routes through VA but that's where I hit most of the rain.

Roads have been wet all day but I don't think a single drop of rain has hit me. I made a couple detours to make sure that's what was going to happen but I have enjoyed the roads I've been on. I'm clean and dry buy the bike is filthy. I'm sitting on the south side of Charleston getting lunch and th e radar looks like if I hang out here for about a half hour more or so and then head for route 3 I'll finish my day dry. Here's to hoping

I have no idea why people have been fighting the update. It's been wonderful, no crashes, no lock ups and my systems (3 laptops and a desktop)have ran so much better

This is why I don't commute to work on my bike. I dodge the little bastards just about every morning on my road.

Oh no!! That sucks man. Glad it didn't end or ruin your trip totally. I know yours was a loading issue but I've always thought those set ups were kinda sketch to me.

I will ride it Tuesday and report back. It's the least I can do. I was going to check out 226A anyways so ill make a loop out of it.
