  1. Took a ride yesterday with the pants.First impression of the pants. Aren't really any  cooler than my tourmaster probably just as warm. But the difference no sweating. But with more protection and more waterproof and not being any hotter, thats a win. The seating production feels fine with no pressure points. But do need to make some adjustments on the knee armor. Pockets are harder to get into but they are water proof where the old ones weren't. Over all I'm liking them. I bet they will shine in the wet and on the long haul.

  2. I have never been more nerded out by riding gear than i am right now. Just before the Gap trip I made a few weeks ago I discovered a hole in my tourmaster riding pants. So just chalked it up as get a replacement next year. Wore my old beat-up Stitch pants that I bought used on adventure riders for that trip. While down at the Gap I met a guy named Dan with similar riding interest that I have. He talked very hightly about his Klim gear how much he loved it and how great of a company they are to work with and they stand behind their "Lifetime Warranty".  At that time he had me convinced just to step up my game to a higher end gear/company than tourmaster. So over the next couple weeks I did a lot of research and checking out videos and reviews online and everything kept pointing to the Klim latitude line for Sport Touring. In the pants they even made it tall version so it seems like a no-brainer but of course my tight ass wallet still wasn't going to spend $550 on pants. So my plan, keep an eye on ADV rider or ebay for a lightly used pair. And low and behold there was a pair on Ebay for $350 with the option to send offer. These were advertised as "like new, with tags removed but still came with them, used for one trip" So my hope was to get these for $300 using the offer option. Figured id have to play the dance (offer-conter offer...) so hit them low at $280 ...And they acepted! SWEEETT!  Once i got them they were a perfect fit and i was super impressed with the quality. VERY happy with my decision.

So at that point I was sold, I knew I would wanted the Jacket too. So again my tight ass isn't paying $700 for a jacket. So off the second hand outlets i go. Didn't see anything at first but the very next day on ADV rider one pops up. Brand New w/tags (NEVER WORN). The guy got it as a warranty replacement for his older model and apparently they changed them completely and the new model didn't fit him. Had it listed for $500, plus shipping, plus paypal fees. But you know me gotta hit him low. Offer $400..crickets...bumped it to $425...crickets...finally i told him i was all in at $450 plus $20 for shipping out the door but he would have to eat the paypal fees. You have to realize this was 2 days after he listed it and noone else even sniffed it but me. He told me Friday night he would think on it over night and let me know. Saturday morning he sends me his paypal info and accepted my offer. Freaking Bad Ass!

Got the Jacket today and it too is an absolute perfect fit. I was worried they didnt come in a tall size but also read Klim is a very generous cut. Perfect. Better than any other jacket I've owned.

I know I'm babbling on here but I have another story about the pants. When I got them and tried them on I realized there was something in the pockets. In the right front pocket there was a brand new crisp perfectly folded $10 bill looks like fresh out of the bank somebody purposely carefully folded it and placed it in that pocket. And the left front pocket there was a Buddhist prayer flag wadded-up. There was also something in the thigh pocket it was an Tusk or an antler off of some sort of animal. Obviously I found this very odd and wanted to get to the bottom of where they came from. So I emailed the seller and asked if she knew the history of the pants and where they came from and told her that I had found things in the pocket. She explains to me that her husband bought these pants and use them on a motorcycle trip to the Himalayas and when he got home he never use them again. So I guess that explains all of that..lol

An added bonus i also picked up another pair of my Astars gloves i love so much on Ebay for half price...lol

Verizon's been pissing me off for two decades. But still the best service no matter where I go.

So Verizon finally did something pretty nice for me. I recently switched to the unlimited plan(damn kids) and one of the reasons I decided to is because with 5 lines they offer $10 off per line with auto pay. No problem! I already have auto pay. That actually made my bill less than before. Well got my first bill for the new plan...and....no discount. So obviously i was initally pissed. Go on the Verizon online chat and come to find out that discount only applies to auto pay with Debit or Checking accounts.(it said right on the term that I missed) mine was set up on credit card.  So really "my bad" for not catching it. The person say "no problem, well give you a $50 credit this on this months bill an that will give you time to change your payment method for next months" also they issued at $50 devise credit to my account for my troubles and misunderstanding. So with customer service like that I don;t mind paying the slightly higher prices.

  4. I enjoyed everyone of my bikes. But I can honestly say (now)I don't care to have any of them back. There isn't really anything out on the market that i'm lusting over either. If I would wad up my C14 today I would probably just go get another one and set it up the exact same way.

  5. If it carborated I'd use the stabilizer in the gas. FI bikes your fine. Only because the small amount of gas in float bowl can turn and evaporate quicker. In a sealed system its good for many many months.

If a FI bike will be stored for maybe 6 months or more, yeah use it there too.

But no, it won't hurt either if you need piece of mind.

  6. Wash it. Put on center stand. Plug into tender. Make sure tank is atleast half full.

That's it, it's always ready to ride.

I'm not changing oil unless it's due. I'm not flushing fluids unless its due.  I'm not removing the battery, that's what the tender is for. I'm not putting tires on wood blocks,  that's silly. I'm not covering it up because that just invites critters to call it a home. We are parking them for maybe 4 months. Not like its a very long period of time. People way over think this.

Only other thing ill do is put some fresh decon out in the garage.

And this is where the motocycle thing began at first. In 1998 i bought this 1990 GSXR 750 all because my buddy let me take a spin on his 94 Katana 600 at a bbq. When we bought our house in 01 i sold it for financial reasons. Till i bought the TL in 2007

  8. To the old connie that you all know pretty well. I seriously can't explain how much I love this bike. I can honestly say ive never loved a personal posession anymore in my life than i do with this turd. This bike has kept my sanity intact and my passions alive.
