  1. Back of the Dragon, the snake and BRP today. So you could say I got the new tires scrubbed in.
  2. Hell I rolled past there at around 6p ish today. BRP was a ghost town from boone to 80.
  3. Sounds to me like the cops are doing a pretty good job of keeping the riff-raff out.
  4. Not terribly far you just have to go through the GSMNP to get there.
  5. Playing around on the BRP Monday-Wednesday. Townsend Wednesday-Sunday
  6. A plus this time of year is its alway cooler at the top of the Parkway. And yea I'd skip skyline drive unless you just want to say you did it all.
  7. Yeah most of its 45 but the areas that are reduce speed are the areas they really crack down on.
  8. I've done it both ways a couple times if you stick to no more than a 10 over pace you can have a good time and not draw attention. There's rumors they did some tar and chipping in sections of Virginia. Check out the Blue Ridge Parkway website for road conditions and I believe there's a map that tells you the gas exits. The I-77 area is about the halfway mark. Plenty of hotels in the area I always stay at the Knights Inn in Galax because it's really inexpensive. Not top-of-the-line accommodations but clean and inexpensive.
  9. Going to be a warm one folks, pack or wear your mesh gear. Might plan more ride on the BRP and GSMNP to stay in the cooler air.
  10. If your concerned at all just do a basic voltage check. Should be around 12 to 13 sitting. Shouldn't drop much below 10V while cranking and should be 13 or above while running and charging.
  11. I just want him to sell this bike so I don't have to start calling him Bad8765309.2
  12. No, if you were a supporting member you could do that shit yourself. You gots to pays the monies.
  13. I've chewed on these thoughts before only to come to the conclusion that there is SOOOO much in our own country I haven't seen, done or ridden yet. So I'm fine for making over seas a very distant thing.
  14. Little disassembly to replace the fuel filter pickup sock in the bottom of the fuel pump. Kawasaki doesn't recommend changing this but as you can see it's pretty filthy and it's the only serviceable fuel filter on the bike. They don't even list a part number for this on the C14 you have to order one for a Kawasaki Mule but it's the same thing New part will be here tomorrow.
  15. Okay I have a little more to say about it here's what I posted on a Concours 1400 Facebook page..... First impression 10 mile run very familiar local twisty road with Steve Sefsicks mountain runner flash....... HOLY FUCK!!! I'm running easy one maybe even two gears higher and she pulls harder than I've ever felt. She's got that front-wheel feeling float going on that you normally feel between 6k and 9k RPM it's now doing it between 4k and 7k. The smoothness of Shifting the engine braking the rolling on and off the throttle smoothness is everything that was promised. But the one thing I want to add that I've never heard anybody talk about is THAT SOUND! I've never heard my bike make those sounds. That deep Lowdown growl on the bottom end. That almost freight train like Tornado sound coming from the air box area and ram air ports at WOT. I've put 50k miles on this bike since I've owned it and I think we just opened up a whole new can of worms. I was never ever ready to trade her in but now she's so much better. Kind of like having a beautiful woman that you thought was perfect and then she decides she wants to have a boob job and starts doing squats regularly...haha..lol So much more to come but couldn't take her out any longer. One because it's getting ready to rain and two my low fuel light has been on for 20 miles because I'm going to do the filter pickup sock on the pump later in the week so I don't want to put any more gas in it. Oh yeah the brand new T 30s feel fucking fantastic. It's going to be fun times in the dirty south next week.
  16. Reinstalled my ECU today with the mountain Runner Flash and went for a short ride. And all I have to say is... HOLY FUCK!!!
  17. Wings are for old guys will Ol' Ladies
  18. Today was TAR day. Some fresh rubbas for the gap trip.
  19. FYI, that's how I taught her how to drive a stick shift car too.
  20. I highly don't recommend this with a good bike but. When I taught my wife we used her uncle's POS KZ440LTD in a mowed field on damp grass. If you have ever ridden a street bike with road tires on damp grass you figure out throttle steering traction and braking control real quick. Couple hours out there dropping it 25 times she took to the street like a duck on water. Had to throw some useless info at you to make the OR universe right again.
