  1. Because benefits cost more than overtime. It's more cost effective to pay overtime to associates that are already getting benefits than it would be to hire more people and or add a shift or even expand and add more space. Then they would have to pay those folks benefits as well. I make roughly $60k a year with OT but our plant controller (as they call him)that basically balances all monies in and out told me each associate cost the company roughly $95k a year to employ. So figuring some quick math my base pay is around $46k year I make around $14k ish a year in over time so that make my benefits package and what ever else is involved worth around $35k. So why would they pay extra people benefits when they can work the ones they have to death because OT is cheaper. Sucks but it is what it is. Ive worked here for 21 years and OT and Saturdays are just the way of life. My years of service have earned me much vacation time so that helps get me though. But I'm taking advantage and stashing away a lot in 401k and getting shit like my house paid off early so maybe before I'm 50 I can get out and enjoy the fruits of my labor.
  2. Since @Tonik is old and feeble i'll remind him of the rules for FIRST!! in chat box in his own words. Also where Dan confirmed this and tonik backed him up...
  3. We are looking at the Gainsville-Athens, GA area would even entertain the Greenville SC area too.
  4. I love where I live 4-5 months out of the year. But that's it. I live in a rural cow town and folks are friendly and it's a safe area to live. But the other 7-8 months I hate it. Once my youngest is out of school and house is paid off that happens about a year apart we are moving south. Western Calolina's or northern GA area. Wife has a friend the lives about 100 miles NE of Atlanta and it's really nice there year round and medical jobs that my wife can find are plentiful. So that's the plan in 4-6 years.
  5. Thought the same thing myself, little risk when using paypal though. I was going to watch to see if the feedback of the account changes any over a couple weeks or so.
  6. So no other things to purchase to make these work on the app?

  8. You kick the door open like a man and then the muzzle will supply its own light source. Get with the program.
  9. Looks like i'm not going to make it. Picked up a bug this weekend and trying to shake it.
  10. I have noticed other things too that need to be addressed but not necessarily a problem per se. Going to need to take at least a half a link out of my watch and order another wedding band because they are way too loose.
  11. I feel I'm solid in the 20s 3 days in a row the scale said 22x. This is my monthly weigh in up date because this weekend I'm considering a cheat weekend. Only a pound or two from where I want to be on April 24th.
  12. There is is...DONE. Mods lock this thread up. Bubby Adam is good people.
  13. Welcome to the packaging industry. One thing is for sure it's job security. No matter what the current fad or trend is you have to have a container or box or some sort of packaging to put it in.
  14. Can't you just take a 1/4 round over bit and hit it from both sides?
  15. Didn't @Pauly plan on hanging a hammock from a tree one year? You can snuggle with him in his hammock.
  16. You can cancel 14 days before check in. So book it and have one on the books if you end up going. Cancel if you can not.
  17. I guess I should add. I'm already sharing a room in Townsend with someone so the only bed I have open for you is the night of the 19th on the way down.
  18. Mileage dosnt mean much but the price is still kinda high. The market is flooded with them right now.
  19. Yea that's fine. It's a tentative plan right now but the spot is yours if nothing changes.
  20. Ive got a room reserved in Bristol for the 19th. My plan for the 19th is 33 to 16(back of dragon) to I81 to 421. Then the 20th will be 421(the snake) to 221 to BRP (hitting diamond back, mount mitchel) to Smokie Mount NP to Townsend. If i need to cut anything off of the 19th might slab to Charleston and take 60 to Gauley Bridge to pick up 16. But that's the gist of my plan. Got a room for 2 if anyone wants to join me.
  21. Sounds to me like if they can't make the cameras unlawful they're going to try to make it where it's not worth their time and not worth it financially. In other words if they want to keep it truly about safety which they claim it is they won't go anywhere but if it's truly about the bottom dollar I think you'll find them all gone if this passes.
  22. I may swing up for this as long as I'm not on OT at work.
  23. Kind of like a second language to me......... Okay I lied it's my primary one, it's what I speak.
