  1. C'mon, I'm not gonna have a license plate that matches my tattoo, that'd be redundant redundant.
  2. Corvettes are pretty recognizable. YZF600R's aren't quite as popular. Also, they weren't known as "Thundercats" here, only in Europe. So you have to be "in the know" to realize what it is AND know that it's the Euro name. Just throwin' it back (What's your plate say, Mr. king of cool? )
  3. Got my frame sliders and shift kit in the mail. I'll be installing this weekend, hopefully. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Meh, I have MORE than enough horsepower... The only thing an FZ6 has that I'd want is fuel injection, but that's because the bike is a LOT newer. I'm happy with the power my bike makes, and I'm a fan of the full-fairings and the ergos that fit me perfectly. an FZ6 would've cost me more, had me sitting up too much, and not been as pretty (to ME).
  5. well THAT'S lame. Very un-dapper to exclude so many people
  6. I think you've missed my point. What I meant was that whether or not Brown could have or did injure the officer isn't important when examining whether or not the officer executed Brown after Brown tried to surrender. The witnesses saying there was a struggle doesn't matter, and whether or not Brown punched the officer doesn't matter. Sure, Brown was capable of inflicting deadly force, just like you said. And yes, it'll be argued that Brown was strong enough to fracture the cop's skull... But I'm talking about whether or not Brown tried to surrender and the cop chose to shoot him anyway. In any event, some actual facts or forensic evidence will carry far more weight than 18 million eyewitnesses who are all telling conflicting stories to each other, and then changing them every ten minutes on top of that.
  7. LOL @ your typo Seriously, though, I'm not hatin', I believe in "to each, their own." I'd be the worst one to throw mud, since I picked a bike that's certainly not as mainstream as yours.
  8. http://www.gentlemansride.com/sponsor/country/united+states?ride_id=79 that Amanda chick looks cute & rides! Maybe I'll sign up! Actually, rides like these are probably good publicity for the board.
  9. Thanks guys. Can a cam chain tensioner go bad even if the bike only has 7K miles on it? Can a cam chain tensioner go bad based on time, not miles? I did some looking, and apparently a yzf600r has a resettable CCT. It's under the tank, but apparently you can unbolt it, hold down a spring so the "teeth" will move the other way, and reset it. I also had someone else on the yzf600r forum mention it might be fairings. I'm a little suspicious since the RPM at which it happens is very consistent, but that might be easier to test. In my digging, I found out where my idle screw is, so maybe I can set my idle to where it turns on, and then press on some different panels and see if it stops.
  10. Devil's advocate mode: Brown breaking the cop's eye socket means nothing. They could have had a confrontation in the car, and that injury could have happened. Then maybe Mike Brown tried to run away. Then maybe he thought better and started to surrender. Maybe the cop was so angry, he executed him for it. In that sequence of events, sure, Mike Brown injures the cop, but it's still murder if that's the way things played out, and not the cop defending himself.
  11. Holy cow that looks awesome. I'd get like infinity points with the wife if I ever did something like that.
  12. Well shoot, if the front wheel doesn't come up on WOT, then it might as well be a 600! I'm not trying to get into bike wars, but the FZ1's fairing looks like an overbite Also... That little ole thing aint a fairing!
  13. Yeah, Ohio doesn't care about PA's inspection. One piece of relevant info that has not yet been mentioned is that you can get the inspection done at a license bureau, but you need to go to a title bureau to get a new Ohio title in your name, & pay for the sales tax/registration/plates. Many locations are a title bureau and a license bureau, but some aren't. There's a list on the Ohio BMV website of the one-stop places.
  14. I took the Ninja 500 out for a spin last night, just because it had been sitting for a couple of weeks, since I bought the yzf600r. It was fun to ride the "little guy" after the "big girl." It's like a scooter! So light! Takes almost no effort at all to turn that front wheel. Rode into hunting valley, admired the houses, and along the Chagrin River for a bit. It was fun to watch the storm come in, & push away the last of the daylight before getting all windy & chilly & rainy.
  15. Looks good! A few rock chips and he'll stop liking the "hot rod" look so much. Other than my oil change, a did a few other little things recently with lots more little things to come New keychain to keep my triple tree from getting scratched, and new vanity plate... Here's the vanity plate from my old bike, my current plate from my 2003 Ninja 500 that's for sale if anyone wants to buy it, and the plate that'll be going on the new bike.
  16. I have a video with some sound, but I'm betting someone will know what the problem is without the vid. (I'm not sure of an easy way to post it). The sound can be described as a chattering sound, or a mechanical flutter. With the clutch pulled in, or the bike in neutral, I can still hear the sound, so it doesn't matter if the bike is moving or not. As I rev the throttle, the sound starts at about 2900 RPM. If I let off the throttle, the sound STOPS happening at about 2400 RPM (~500 rpm lower). While riding, I think it goes away around 4K or 5K rpms, although I can't be sure, since by then engine & wind noise may just be drowning it out? This is NOT the tweety-bird sound, air intake, or the sound from the straight-cut gears, which are all common & noticeable mon a YZF600R. They're also enjoyable & music to my ears when I ride I sound like the car from the Jetsons, actually. But this fluttering or chattering sound is annoying at slow speeds, like cruising through a parking lot. It's very noticeable and I do not remember my previous YZF doing it. It was present when I bought the bike, and I've put several hundred miles on the bike since then. Is it somehow carb related? p.s. If I could change *1* thing about my bike, I'd want fuel injection!
  17. the "take my money" thread has a great video just posted today of a company that makes hidden cabinets for gun storage. That video does a good job of showcasing the product without being flashy. Then again, maybe your target audience is squids, and I hear they go for the flashy marketing vids.
  18. That's how I feel about my wife, too, although I can't say that to her face, of course. But I'd be suuuuper worried if she were riding.
  19. I have an 11-year-old bike for sale... But it'd take 3 of them to equal the FJR's displacement
  20. My preferred ride is a 505-footer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Ross_(DDG-71) But even IT had problems in rough seas...
  21. TY, I got mine on Saturday. Nice fast shipping!
