  1. Bienvenue! Je parle Francais a petit-peux, mais l'ecole... was a long time ago I married a German women, so that's my backup language now. Welcome aboard!
  2. google told me overnight that they prevented a login from Serbia... But it was an old account that I rarely use anymore and never used for personal stuff.
  3. FWIW, I'm 220 and a took my Ninja 500 on the highway for a 30-minute commute each way to work and back for three months straight. I routinely had it at 100 mph easily. For a lighter rider, it'll be more than enough power AND torque. It's a VERY comfortable riding position (at 6'2, I found it impossible to tuck my thighs into the tank crease, but a shorter rider wouldn't have that problem, of course). After riding it for three months and 1300 miles, I sold it for more than I paid for it. I can also speak to the Buell Blast, which is a fine starter bike, but less applicable if she favors sportbikes. The Ninja 500 will teach her that power comes from RPMs, and encourage leaning forward a bit, instead of the Blast, which will only teach her to ride like a cruiser (all IMHO). Either would be fine on power. I don't know why people buy Ninja 250s instead of a Ninja 500.... It seems like the ONLY thing a 250 can do better is look like a fully-faired modern sportbike. The largest downside of the 500, of course, is looks. I'd suggest Ninja 500. She might keep it, and if not, it's easy to sell them for what you paid for them. Twice the displacement of a Ninja 250, and the same price.
  4. Hate him if you want, but he does have a point. Shooting at people driving away isn't what guns are for. I firmly believe that if you're stealing from someone, you should come to bodily harm, but unfortunately the law doesn't
  5. Jack flash ought to check this one... http://cleveland.craigslist.org/mcy/4641805089.html 09 sv650, fully faired, 500 miles, 5k. Could probly get it for 4500 and sell his bike for 3k come spring. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I have the "Compact" version of that drill & impact, and I've loved them. I used them daily as a field tech. One of the other field techs in my region has the same set you bought. He beats on them, treats them like crap, throws them into his tool bag from the top of the ladder, etc etc. They've always worked great for me and him. Most the tools I ended up buying are Rigid, which is owned by Home depot, I think? Anyway, I have a bunch of other stuff from them and it's all worked great for me (Thanks, former company of mine for buying my all my tools!)
  7. I'm looking for a SMALL tankbag solution for holding a smartphone. Seems more useful & easily removable than a permanent smartphone mount. (I already have a larger tankbag for holding more stuff, so I need an option for when I only want my phone). I did find a map pouch on your site at http://www.ridersdiscount.com/River-Road-Magnetic-Map-Pouch/dp/B00ANTXMGC?field_availability=-1&field_browse=5498714011&id=River+Road+Magnetic+Map+Pouch&ie=UTF8&refinementHistory=brandtextbin%2Ccolor_map%2Cprice%2Csize_name%2Csubjectbin&searchNodeID=5498714011&searchPage=1&searchRank=price&searchSize=12 Is there anything else like that, or similar to this eBay "magpouch for smartphones" http://www.ebay.com/itm/MagPouch-for-Smartphones-Motorcycle-Bike-Cell-Phone-Holder-Magnetic-Tank-Bag-/281424932275?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item41863badb3&vxp=mtr I'd love to buy from a forum supporter, but also wants something that'll fit my needs. Thanks!
  8. Dangit, why can't it have a clear/visible window for a phone? I'll post up in the other thread about needing something like that. I'd love to give a sponsor first shot before I buy something from eBay.
  9. That's an insanely great price, GLWS! I almost picked up an F4i, and it's def on my list of bikes I want to ride/own.
  10. Couldn't talk the wife into it She wants anything with a Repsol graphic, but I'm not about to buy her a cbr-250r until she knows how to ride! She turned this one down because it's late in the season and it doesn't knock her socks off, visually... but at such a great price, I'm sure it will sell soon if you're patient!
  11. OK, once and for all, is it "ten-air" or "ten-eh-ruh?" edit: Clearly, my motorcycle education is gleaned for reading forums instead of actually meeting people and riding
  12. A guy at my work rides a Harley, and says his group of guys likes to go on "Fugawi" rides... as in, they go for a ride until eventually, someone says "where da fugawi?!"
  13. welcome aboard! There might be other ppl from your neck of the woods with whom you could ride down...
  14. Just ordered a universal USB charger thingy so I can wire it up & have power for my phone... Planning for the Fall Epic Ride! (GPS needed to get there). Now I need a mount, unless I want to put my phone in a tank bag that'll cover my pretty tank
  15. Ordered blue windshield screws on eBay to replace the set that's in now... since I broke a screw swapping in a touring windshield.
  16. None of THAT is innovative, but ppl rag on Apple for not doing anything innovative Watch what happens to mobile payments in a year or two, and you'll see it's because of apple.
  17. LOL, some IT guy was reading about the program where the military was giving stuff away for free, thought it'd be cool to get, and applied for it. Turns out he got it!
  18. the larger iPhones go on pre-order(or become available?) the 19th. The Apple watch will be available next year. iOS8 (complete with Apple pay) will be available for download next week or sometime soon. No announcements regarding a new Apple TV. Apple won't be in a death spiral, their stock should continue to go up.
  19. People thought the same thing about cell phones before they were widely adopted. You were either a stock broker or a drug dealer, carrying around your brickphone. It's all about mainstream acceptance, and that's what Apple is good at, just like Pauly said.
  20. I would've agreed with you until I got and started using a Pebble. I love my smartwatch and I'll never go back. And yes, I'll upgrade when possible - to the Apple Watch. I don't care if it costs $350, I'll use it over 100 times a day. It will replace/extend my phone for most things. I love my Pebble, but there are lots of things it can't do, and the Apple Watch will address those concerns. Like I said earlier, Apple brings things into the mainstream. They have a way of creating EVOlution instead of REVOlution... iTunes. iPod. iPad. iPhone. ALL of those things created whole new industries around them, or at least ecosystems. Before iTunes, you were all using WinAmp. On your PC, and all it did was play music. You were also using a Sony Discman, until the iPod came along. Now, that iPod interfaces with iTunes, and iTunes manages all your music. Before the iPhone, you were using a flip phone that didn't browse the web or have these things called "apps." Before the iPad came out, what tablet were you using? A cheaper Samsung model? I don't think so. While there's some truth to the whole "yeah, only douchebags adopted the whole "wear a bluetooth thingy on your ear," watches are different. They're fashion for both men and women, and they're also extremely functional. Apple has (and will continue to) make them indispensable in every day life. Just like your cell phone. And no, it doesn't duplicate the phone's functions, it simply makes them 100 times easier to access. Apple may cost more, but that's because the build quality is higher. Look at any macbook pro and compare it to a plastic piece of shit PC and you'll see what I mean. Don't contradict me unless you've owned a unibody aluminum macbook, btw. As for the Apple Watch... How many people here have actually used and own a smartwatch? I wear mine daily and I love it... Yeah, it's no biggie to keep taking your phone out of your pocket, but you don't realize how much easier it is until you have it, and that's just for notifications... the fitness and apps potential, much less mobile payments, are another matter entirely.
  21. They tend to bring fringe technologies into the mainstream. "Smartphones" were NOT widely used until the original iPhone. Neither NFC nor Smartwatches have wide adoption these days, and "fitness bands" that DON'T talk to your phone ARE seeing some adoption... in the next 3 years, mobile payments, NFC, and smart watches WILL see some serious market penetration. And fitness bands that don't interface with your phone will go the way of the "feature phone" - extinct. Apple will make these things mainstream... Like it did with tablets. NOBODY used tablets before the iPad, and now everyone and their kid has them.
