  1. Here is the picture album for what I took. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10212431324450992&type=1&l=4675a61a6a I had a chance to demo ride 4 bikes on Friday. The BMW R9T Racer, GSXR-750, R1-S and the Honda CB1100. Was more impressed by the Honda than the other 3. It was the bike that felt the most comfortable and in it's element at test ride speeds, If I could justify another bike it would be on the short list. You could tell the GSXR and R1 were just out of their element riding in downtown traffic and were ready to go all out at any moment. Caged animals just begging for an excuse to get you a ticket from the police. The BMW wasn't a bad bike if you could get past the shifter. I have ridden two of the R9T series bike now and neither was bad but the shifter felt vague and like you were trying to impose your will on the pedal through a weak spring.
  2. Close, Vegas for 2018 but back to CMH for both 2019 and 2020. Was told this by several show people and the local Yamaha dealer rep.
  3. Oh so you went there and are now "that guy". You coulda at least offered a handy to go with it. Geese, what is this world coming too?
  4. Better bulbs probably won't help. The problem is they are a projector beam, when you lean into a turn the cutoff line for the projector causes everything in the corner to go dark. You'll probably love everything else about the sprint so they are still an awesome motorcycle. Congrats.
  5. Very cool, I would still have mine if I didn't crash it. I would recommend some good quality driving lights to add to it if you plan to ride at night. The stock headlights could have been much better.
  6. I'm here, will be hanging around booth 3319, TexaUSA. I have 2 of my Ducati's in their display so they can show off their diagnostic computers.
  7. Check on the website for the BRP. They had some heavy tree damage from Irma coming through last Monday and I know the section from Ashville NC up to Mount Mitchel is still closed due to trees coming down in the storm. https://www.nps.gov/maps/full.html?mapId=e212fcb5-4ff9-4787-bbe4-3d40cc0d0daa#10/35.8735/-81.8207
  8. Hopefully I will be there for a couple of the days if not all 4, scored myself an industry pass for the weekend. I have two of my bikes in one of the display booths. I'm going to have my Sportclassic and the Multistrada at the Texa USA diagnostics booth.
  9. For the Central Ohio folks, Motohio is the local dealer here in Columbus. I doubt they have a demo bike but it can't hurt to ask and see if they do or when Motus may be back in the area with the demo truck.
  10. I'm impressed with it. It will certainly be a long term ownership. The Pikes Peak has the Ohlins suspension and a bunch of carbon fiber parts the base models don't have. Headlights are better than most cars. I've added the saddle bags, running lights, Garmin gps, Termignoni full race exhaust and a couple parts that are more for pretty than actually needed like a quick release gas cap, billet brake/clutch levers and I changed it to GP shift so it matches my other 2 bikes. It averages right around 40-43mpg in the twisties and I was seeing 50mpg on the highway. Not bad for a bigger bike that puts 147hp and 103ftlbs to the back tire. The low carbon windscreen gets really loud above 75mph, I haven't tried the standard taller clear screen that came with the bike to see how it sounds on the highway. Nothing else really jumps out as a bad thing about the bike other than the price.
  11. Dangit, I used to have one of those, hence the username. Figures another one pops up when I am shit broke and can't afford it.
  12. This was taken 2 days ago but I rode it to Little Switzerland and back. The trip was scheduled to keep going down to the dragon but a pesky hurricane messed up those plans and ended up riding home a bunch early.
  13. I would watch the way they have those ads worded. The actually canopy size is only either 8x8 or 10x10. They are going off of the max outside dimension on the slanted legs to call them 10x10 or 12x12. Still cheap but watch out or you may end up getting something smaller than you wanted.
  14. I got to ride the MST-R last year. Kinda had the same impression with the bike as you do. It's a really nice bike but doesn't quite have the refinement of an established brand that is building it's new bikes off the foundation of those that came before. Nothing felt cheap or that it was poorly built, it just didn't feel finished.
  15. @derekclouser. You guys were following my group. You catch any video of me going slow and holding you up? ?
  16. You guys caught me chillin on pit road waiting to go. Group 4 bike 165. Glad to meet the couple of you guys throughout the day. Sorry I didn't hang out more but I hooked up with a few other friends and all hung out together in the heat and suffered as a group under a couple popups.
  17. I will certainly need to walk over and talk with you goobers tomorrow. I'm parked over by the concession stand in the middle of the lot. I didn't bother with a garage this time around.
  18. I'll be there Sunday night if possible, I'm not a morning person. I would much rather wake up Monday morning already in the parking lot, drop the bike off the trailer and make brap brap noises almost immediately.
  19. That hose is so you know how much air you need to bleed out of your cooling system.
  20. I really need to get my car on a dyno and then run the 1/4 with it. I would love to know what it can do these days compared to a modern muscle car. It's probably really slow.
  21. I watched the Challenger accident live on TV when in grade school. They had TV's in all the classrooms due to a teacher going up on it.
  22. Purchased my spot today. Now just to pray I don't get rained out again this year.
  23. Never knew you could use cool-aid as antifreeze.
  24. It's a bummer it's not as easy as it is on the other models but it might still be possible. You loosen the Torx screws that secure the entire chinbar to the main helmet shell and there is a small amount of adjustment in that joint. They tell you to lock the chinbar in place (closed, normal riding position) and then while tightening the screws you must push the entire chinbar into the helmet to close up the gaps. Put the shield back on and see what you got, it specifically tells you to make this adjustment until you get the visor to seal properly across the top of the lens. Not exactly straight forward but it might be able to take up some slack and get you sealed again. It's pages 14-15 in the Neotec manual under Face cover removal/install. "After replacing the face cover, close the shield / visor and check that the top of the shield / visor and the window beading fit tightly. If there is a gap here, it may cause air turbulence or wind noise. If this happens, remove the face cover and reattach it so that the shield / visor top and window beading fit snugly."
  25. That mechanism is adjustable, you can set it up to pull tighter against the front seal. Run a quick Google search.
