  1. If you didn't already know, NitroCircus is gonna be in Columbus Oct 6th. Tickets are available. http://nitrocircus.com/2015-north-american-tour-2nd-leg/
  2. My simple concept for laying it down is don't do it. I figure every time we ride I have between a 0-100% chance of avoiding an acident. The more skill I have, the greater level or awareness I maintain, and using a larger safety margin the closer I get to averaging 100% avoidance. The moment I give up and "Bail" I have 0% chance of avoiding a crash. Stick with the bike and fight for it, you may just surprise yourself and pull it off. Telling the story of how you pulled off an awesome move and avoiding a crash is much better than getting your friends to sign you casts.
  3. I have riden my Triumph Sprint ST to the dragon, and to Ozark National Forest out in Arkansas. Great Medium/long range bike but still sporty enough I ran a track day with it at Jennings this year. I wouldn't try an Iron butt ride with it but a 500mile day is no problem. Bull Shoals lake in Arkansas
  4. Depends on the bikes weight, gearing and idle torque. I have ridden bikes that will pull first without adding throttle but neither of my current bikes will do it.
  5. I use WD-40 on my Ducati (it's bare aluminum with no paint). The triumph gets a combination of spray bug/tar remover when needed or just regular Jax Wax spray window cleaner. Maquires polish for the really tough stuff and I use Zymoil liquid wax.
  6. 3 yellow wires, if like most other bikes is for the charging system. It's the 3 phase a/c power coming off your charging stator going to the voltage regulator. It needs fixed before riding again and hopefully you haven't killed anything yet.
  7. Womans panyhose over the outlet catches 75% of the extra lint. In my house I need to run a humidifier all winter so the extra moisture doesn't affect anything. Haven't done it at my new house but I have n the past. Suplemental heat and all.
  8. Well, as an update for the thought of shooting the old M1917 at 1k yards for accuracy. Not so much. Best groups even with scope are 3moa and that was 168gr Sierra matchkings. Guess either the gun gets a new barrel or I just break down and buy/build a long range rifle. hummmm, new project. On a side note started by the show us you favorite blade thread; http://ohioriders.net/index.php?/topic/106925-show-us-your-favorite-blades/ I took a picture of a pair of my Enfields with their bayonets attached. Gun facing / is my P14 Enfield, The one facing \ is the No1MK3, both guns chambered in .303British. Just for the fun of showing people how long those guns really are when the pointy bits get added. As the story goes for centuries back into history. He who has the longest reach wins the fight. Oh, and the P14 enfield is just a hair longer of the two at 63 inches tip to buttplate.
  9. Because guns with knives attached are just that much cooler. I recognize your bayonets and display a couple of my own. Granted the ones not permanently attached to my guns. And for the guys that are really just here for the pocket knives. My two EDC knives. The black Kershaw is a true damascus blade.
  10. Personally I have been lucky with my conversations with police while on my Ducati. I have had 2 occasions were officers approched me while I was already stopped. Both times just wanted to check out my bike and say hello. Friendly chitchat and to find out exactly what it was. One time that I have actually gotten pulled over while riding was on the Dragon. He was sitting on the north side by the lakes and we were obviously over the limit. He lit us up from a good distance in front of us so we just pulled over right in front of him. Our group just got warnings as we were curtious and he didn't need to chase us or even move his car. Quick compliance and being non-confrontational goes a long way towards an easy afternoon.
  11. I did racetech gold valves in the front of my Triumph Sprint. A whole crap ton better than stock when finished. I used their numbers for shim setup and couldn't be happier. I haven't had any need to go back and mess with it.
  12. http://gadcustomcartridges.com/ They are a custom ammo shop. I've never bought anything from them but saved the link because he claims to make the 8x50R Austrian I need for an old Steyr rifle I have. He lists your 7.35 Carcano as $30 per 20 rounds.
  13. Any pictures, maybe a model number? They make 18 different versions of the SA58, and more than one are called "Standard".
  14. Don't know about that. I put a Shorai in my Ducati back in 2012 and it is doing great so far. Only problem I have ever seen was hard cranking when it gets to the mid 30's or colder but if you leave the headlight on for a few minutes it warms the battery up and it has never left me stranded. There are too many cheap brands that are being manufactered from C or D-cell lithiums designed to be put in screw gun battery packs that just suck. Get a better brand with a balance charging port with a proper cell balancing charger and you shouldn't have issues.
  15. Most likely, yes. You are looking for some parts that look like the picture below. Granted I got the picture off google and not from an actual bike but it should be what your looking for. The two odd looking fittings attach to the top of the valve cover and the solenoid and hoses will be plumbed somehow into the airbox.
  16. Not sure if that engine has one but I know on the 1050 motors they have an exhaust air injection system. Its designed to pull air from the airbox and dump it into the exhaust headers under decel. If that hose has come off or split that may be what your hearing. Mine has two sections of hose and an electric solenoid on the rh side of the bike underneath the air box. If yours has that system it couldn't hurt to check it.
  17. I was hoping to see her in jail before the elections happen.

    oh puck

The only problem with phone apps is they rely on you having phone service to send for help. I know for certain that there are many twisty roads in far off places of this country that none of the major cell carriers cover. As much as they are expensive the Spot trackers are satellite based during an emergency and don't require a cell signal.
  19. I enjoy a nice strong chocolate stout with a slice of peanut butter pie.
  20. I have the LSL/Spiegler sliders on my triumph sprint. Never crashed it on the street. They held up fine with a crash in soft sand but didn't really help protect anything.
  21. Not only have I had my bike out already this year but I have even crashed it already. Now granted I had to go to Florida, and it was a track day but this shit is for real.
  22. A buddy of mine keeps talking to me about going to a 1000yard shoot and see how we do. Being as all my high-power guns are vintage and have iron sights that makes things a little harder. So I picked up a scope mount for my M1917 and will give this a try. Still need to take it out and shoot it but it should be interesting to say the least. Scope is the 6-18x50 I have borrowed from my 10-22 target gun untill I find out if the old M1917 can hold a 1-1.5 MOA group.
  23. I'll be there. Hopefully with the track bike to see what kinda power it makes.
  24. Somebody around here must build/has a trebuchet that we can borrow and toss that thing into orbit.
  25. Ault, The Ducati Sportclassic = not one of their best bikes ever. I have spent more in aftermarket parts for my sportclassic to fix all the problems it left the factory with than what I spent on the bike new. Now I will back that up with the statement that I can't imagine ever selling mine. There is certainly a mushy spot in my brain somewhere that wants me to ride that thing every chance I get. With the mods I have done it is now the machine Ducati should have sold in the first place and is both a proper cafe hooligan bike and a very capable corner carving machine. It just take several years and a bunch of parts to make it happen.
