What brand and cca are these? Also, are they lead acid or agm?

No worries, you did it the right way - figured it was a good reason just to bump it back on radar:: double thumbzup

Wow, that stuff looks like it would peel right off at the carwash:dunno:

I've used spraypaint on the mag portion on a set of wheels, left the bright silver rims and fogged black up the mag then blacked out the hub. Kind of a fade look, but worked well. On a rim? May not be a good approach since they collect more grime/dust/rock chips than the rest of the wheel, but as cheap as it would be to try.....why not?

Me too man, I'd like the 2 workbenches back for some space again. Anyone interested can check my profile, I've got a dedicated album for it

Ah geesh you're welcome but now I'll need to explain just so everyone knows, she meant quick ride by our little country backroad ride, not a quick bedsheet ride

I've had great results from Dunlop, their basically all I've run on and offroad. Bought bikes with Michelins or Bridgestones but never bought other than Dunlop tires for my bikes. They're just as competent as most any of the big tire companies, model vs model - Not saying anything negative about others choices either, just never strayed personally. There's gotta be other brand biased folks here, right? Let me finish with Dunlop Roadsmarts on any bike would be my choice for durability, and cornering confidence.....but this is a "streetbike review" not tried a trackday with these so I cant attest to how well they heat and holdup

Good to hear, seems to be the concensus here that your son fight back - afterall, its basically instinct to do so when someone is threatened with a possible hand to hand attack, guns and knives are another matter. I only lost my first fight in grade school, after that I made sure to finish what others started - but that wasnt often since I was one of the biggest boys there Some kids feel a need to prove themselves in front of their friends and peers. Most confrontations I had in highschool were won verbally before it ever got physical, but I prided myself in fluent English back then......plus I look a whole lot meaner than I actually am:D I'm down with the school meet and ride, like its been said - what kid WOULDN'T want a bike pack to come and gve him a lift in front of all their friends!! Even if its just you, me, Brandt, Vandy, other various locals:D

Thanx folks! For my BDay today, I invited a basement waterproofing crew over to make a mess of our house inside and out Thinking I will go get oil for the wife's bike and get it ready to ride, plus it gets me out of this noisy ass house for some quiet time down in the garage:D:D

My Dad was an avid member from maybe the late 70's? until he died but I NEVER saw a single hat, duffel bag, nothing.....just those cheap little round chrome lookin' stickers. He subscribed to their mag too, American Rifleman or something like that? I'm not a member but not near the gun fan Dad was either

Seem to be of decent quality, probably much better after some fine-tuned refinement like you've done......post up some early season results as I'm interested in a set for mine, just cant justify the $350 or more for the GOOD ones:D

Watching too......some of these episodes make ya think. Cool to see people majorly changing their lives and learning to live in a completely different frame of mind

If they would give the grip better ergo's and single trigger, it'd have better odds to catch on - made in Italy? Gonna be expensive! Cool idea in theory, but it costs twice as much to shoot and probably 3 times a typical 1911 - good convo piece for rich folk is about the only market I see

My '96 CR250R is completely tore down for rebuild after a transmission scatter a couple seasons ago. I've been wanting to rebuild it ever since but I just cannot muster anymore money, time, nor patience to invest in it so I'll start with the brief history for anyone insterested... I bought this bike almost 3 years ago and replaced the wornout OEM bodykit, also got a new FMF Powercore 2 silencer for the Gnarly pipe that was already on it. Got it together and the bike performed flawlessly -- took it out 3 times that season, first couple rides were just short local hops but the 3rd ride was at Richland's Furnace ( Chilicothe ) with 3 other riders - taking the access road we were all clipping along in 4th/5th gear when mine suddenly locked. The transmission countershaft bearing seized and the shaft bound in the journal, blowing out the clutch case. It wiped out a couple gears as well. Loaded it up, brought it home, and instantly initiated teardown - I started looking up the parts needed to repair it, and Honda wanted $350 for the case half alone - way too expensive for me, so I sought after a complete engine from Ebay and bought it for almost the same price. Once I got the replacement engine, I gutted it to examine what was good on both to build one good engine. In the meantime, I ordered all new OEM engine bearings, all new OEM seals / complete gasket kit, and some new hardware. I have everything necessary to build a bike except for the patience and multitude of hours to do so. I'd like to get $700obo for everything as I've invested this much in the replacment engine and new seals/bearings/hardware alone. I'd rather sell as a whole than part it out as I need my workbench space back asap Here's a list of what's included..... All new OEM bearings All new OEM seals New OEM complete gasket kit Some new hardware 1 good transmission w/spares that survived the scatter 2 good cylinders - one stock bore, one bored out ( believe 68.5mm ) 2 good crankshaft assemblies - one OEM, one Hotrods 1 good Wiseco piston for the bored cylinder, the ebay engine had a bad topend but the cylinder wall looks good 2 good carbs - one jetted for FMF Gnarly, the other I assume is stock 2 good case halves 2 clutch housings 2 clutch baskets w/pressure plates - one in stellar condition, shows wear 1 good clutchpack, 1 partial clutchpack as a fiber fragged when the trans seized 2 stator covers 2 rad valve assemblies 2 stator assemblies 1 CDI 1 Coil 2 powervalve assemblies Kayaba stock forks are straight and leak-free Rear shock is straight and leak-free Swingarm and linkage is good and straight Subframe is good and straight Frame is solid and straight but needs stripped - I had the bad idea of undercoating it crap didn't stick Front wheel is good but tire needs replaced Rear wheel is good and Millville has tons of life in it Both front and rear brake systems/rotors are good and leak-free but pads may need replaced Clutch and brake cables are good Set of Fly handlebars are tweaked just a little but good Clymer service manual

To be truly rustproof, may as well pony up for 3" stainless or at least aluminized steel to get any real life out of it. We have a local muffler shop on our side of Ohio that mandrel bends anything you want, and any size you want......but its cheap galvanized pipe. I had a Ranger that got all new exhaust from the collector back for like 90 bucks, no catalytic and cheap muffler but it lasted a couple years.

Ah, good 'ol Mikuni carbs.....yup dime a dozen and should find them easily. Was thinking of something else when you called them "pins"
-
Glad ya figured it out, gonna be a cheap fix? Or are they hard to find?
-
That was cool of him, especially jumping in the canal after it - now that little calf can grow up to feed 20 of us, instead of just 6 or 7
-
Happy BDay bro, hope you put some miles on that Duc today!

I learned in the dirt, but my first streetbike was a Kaw LTD - but its hard to beat the handling/braking/fun of a sportbike
-
Good luck LJW, there's plenty of brain matter to be picked here - and if not, then sign up with Triumph forum that OldSchool suggested for sure........when I had my YZF, I was on their UK forum asking for advice regularly........pays off big when you have to do your own work

If daycare doesnt exist at some of these facilities, there should be -- has to be a market for it since kids seem to be a very common pet in most households May not be as "in demand" as say a bar n grill or restaurant, but there's a NEED all the same. Maybe leave the kids with family while you and your man take a little adult vacation? Then come home early to do other fun stuff with the children? Idk, just a suggestion

As big as you are, I'd figured you could have just put your feet down and stand up with the bike by the handlebars like a pitbike Seriously though, that truly sucks man, glad you were not hurt and the bike ended up fairly unscathed -- can you get just a new midpipe for the bad side?
