  1. They'll all be in line with brown bags waiting to go chug in the bathroom:D:D:D
  2. Sumo's are surely some mean, exceptionally flickable, asphalt eatin' machines. Phenomenal power-to-weight!!
  3. I'd go with a 1000 now - its not a HUGE jump past the 750 you want to build - and better yet, the factory eng/susp geometry comes pre-installed!! ;) Not like you trackride, just want more for the street right?? May as well upgrade now rather than dump dollars into something you'll sell/trade towards an upgrade anyway. Have you tried gearing the bike up some for better pull? Cheap way to tap into hidden torque, among other power add-ons. You may eventually find your own foot slammin into your ass later for getting involved with engine/electronics swapping - kind of uncharted territory without a "kit" available, but I've no clue to the reaches of your moto-wisdom sir - all in all, its your bike.....your wallet......and your skillset......imo, a 1000 will teach you more about throttle control and they keep the riders respect a lot longer ( or should, anyway;))
  4. Damn, thats tempting but out of range for me right now - I'm only a few hundred from getting my 96 CR250R back on 2 wheels but I will definitely put some bait in the water with fellow dirt riders
  5. Friends stayed around Belville? South off 42 somewhere but told me the ride to the track was far twistier - so we may reserve in that area next season. Price was fair enough on Trimble, $180 for the wkend (tax aside)
  6. We moved around for about every race so all points of the track were spectated - I liked the top of the grandstands for the elevated view of most everywhere between the exit of turn 1, the keyhole, backstraight and the esses before they drop into Thunder valley - some good passing in the draft and under braking on the straight - sportbike race 2 finish was schaweeet! Herrin went wide all day in the carosell trying to get a run on Eslick, but couldnt do much with it so Aquino came inside of him last lap then stole his line or Herrin bobbled just enough to fall from 2nd to 5th in about 100 yards - now he's got some work to do in the points - awesome wkend!! Didnt see a single OR shirt, sticker, anything......we stayed at Comfort Inn on Trimble Rd and 30, chatted with a Cleveland group and 5 guys from Michigan - nobody I talked to at our hotel were OR's, but we may end up with some new recruits now:D
  7. Don't know if anyone here watches but I love this show -- be a dream job to work there!!
  8. I've heard the announcers talk about it on several MotoGP race commentaries that several of these guys came from flat-track racing - so it's simply habit for them, no matter what body position their in......makes sense because they usually only do it when the bike's stepping out under hard braking
  9. The R1's already got Ohlins upgrades so I'd track it before the CBR - Honda's cost more to repair and the extra power comes in handy - so if you're having issues cornering, you've got the grunt to catch back up on the straights and the Ohlins are far more adjustable for fine tuning the turns back into your laptimes
  10. I'm in but the rest of July my daughters got softball 2-3 days a week then tournaments, after that my weeks will loosen up a bit - but only after I work night shift (3p-12a) the first 2 weeks of August.........damnit.........should be free to ride some days those couple weeks from late morning to early afternoon before I have to be at work though -- then my schedule will be basically back to normal so I'll keep my eyes peeled for PM's and updates here.
  11. Wife and I will be there all weekend, so hope to see some members AND get some OR decals!!
  12. ^^^Thats not a bad idea - I'd vote for that
  13. After the JD distillery tour, be sure to hit Lynchburg itself - I've heard Lynchburg Custom Choppers has grown since our last visit, a Jack Daniels store and there's a few leather shops too......its a cool little town
  14. I LOVE country music.......as long as I can't hear it!!! I'll be at MidOhio this weekend, but all you drunken country fans have fun -- weather is supposed to be awesome in Ohio all weekend, but that could change......rapidly......
  15. I'm old school ( still )........PS2, Tourist Trophy, MotoGP '08.........so, I'm not even able to compare to the new systems/games -- but I still have fun during the winter months.........someday I'll upgrade:D
  16. There's some nasty backroads not far from where I live and first few times I'd been rippin' out there I hit a couple bad "buckles" in the asphalt that almost put my bike out sideways - nothing severe, but under power it can be quite a jolt! I wish that ALL the roads in Ohio were in perfectly prepped condition at all times - then everyone could have fun without fear of getting catapulted from our seats, flat tires, bent rims, racked nutsacks, etc....etc....but 'tis a dream, I know.....this is the really real world, where tax money is spent on whatever makes the least sense.
  17. ^^^Awesome!! Almost makes all that interest worth it, huh?!?!
  18. Good stuff to know right there!! Haaahahaaa
  19. Always a good idea to have gap coverage the first few years you're paying on a new vehicle (or whenever the loan vs. vehicle values are right side up) -- and I usually throw on an additional $2k worth of coverage for "custom accessories" to ensure payback in a totalled scenario for any goodies I've bolted on. Other than your deductable, there shouldn't be any additional for you to pay.
