  1. Major muscle potential, but that thing was burning some oil for sure - didnt look like just one bank burning either, seemed like all were - then again the builder may have overdosed the cylinders in oil during assembly? Still sweet build!
  2. Must use Harley oils in a Harley......its already got gasket maker in it:D
  3. Testing was easy back when I took the endorsement ride -- I was first in line on a YZF1000 then, and a younger guy on a CBR6 behind me, the rest were little cruisers and scooters.......when we lined up for the cone slalom, the course was so tight that I was standing on the pegs dropping my bike side to side and made it to the last few cones before hitting any -- 3 point deduction........young guy behind me just took off and ran straight through the course without trying -- 3 point deduction.....WTF?!?!?! Instructor said that's the most you get docked for not passing the slalom.......I thought "Hell, why didn't I read up first instead of just showing up and taking the test?" Needless to say, they've taken that option away from the slalom and now you HAVE to at least try or it's an instant fail.
  4. Wonder if the "hit" was just misinterpreted??
  5. When or if that happens to me, I'll be sure to give props to the driver -- I got respect for ANYTHING that's 4wheeled and can outrun a 190hp, 525lb machine

    heyhey

Awww.......that's too bad.......well, lets dig a little hole and bury it behind the garage with the other dead pets :D:D
  7. Good to hear you're legal now, nothing to do but wait for this damn rain to quit so you can rack up miles!! Need to get a meet-up happening sometime this year with the western Ohio riders
  8. Think most 2ct tire compounds are softer than typical 1ct's but the centers are a little harder than a 1ct for longevity? I got Dunplop Roadsmarts 2ct trying to get more life out of the rear, I do corner some but not enough to shred 'em up yet - usually the centers go on the back of mine - I lika twista da gassa!
  9. Silly cagers, cars are for cripples.....Hahaha.....last year I blew the mirrors off a bigblocked, side-piped, silver stingray down 675 around Beaverditch 3 or 4 times through there - it was hilarious, dude had some blonde with him so he didnt wanna give up without gettin by me but it never happened......buddy on an older F2 with me had a bad clutch, so when we heard that beast roll down the on-ramp he waived me to get him.....so I'd blast the vette then back off so my wingman could catchup, we'd hear the big chevy kick down and I'd rinse and repeat twice more before the fool finally pulled off before I-75. Aren't many 4wheelers that can hang with these bigbore brutes, so sometimes a lesson is in order:D
  10. Dropping your tire pressure 7 or 8 lbs helps giving a bit wider footprint on the road, within a reasonable speed that is.....and only temporarily - just remember to pump them back up when its dry though;);)
  11. I love 'em all, never know who can do what and what can happen just like fighting - Pedro did it right and clean, nothing contraversial......simply exponential - he had his setup working and the line that worked best for both, then finally pulled the trigger to run rabbit from Lorenzo, but even the best riders on this planet have bad days and/or setup issues and/or lesser machines and/or etc.etc.......I only wish I could run pace with the worst pro riders
  12. I feel ya man, cant stand all the wind that we've had along with the rain - seems we cant catch a week stretch of decent weather just a day here and there......breaks a comin' though, I can smell it

    question

I'd check www.kbb.com for a close and current value for the bike - realistically, selling outright she should get somthing between trade and resale values. My wife was wanting a 600 sportbike for her first ride, but she's vertically challenged at 5ft. and the only thing we found stock that she could plant both feet on was the new Ninja 250 - but she didn't want a bike that small so we ended up buying her Dad's Intruder 800 to start her on - it's a bit heavy for a starter bike though, and she doesn't like the way it handles of course ( I've had her on the back of too many sportbikes and she grew accustomed ). 650 or 800 twin cruiser would be good if she's been riding a while, but they've got quite a different feel in comparison to the weight, handling, and power of a sportbike - wish I could talk my wife into selling her bike to your friend since she's only put 200 miles on her's in a years time.......but she won't part with it yet for some reason. Good luck to your friend
  14. Welcome to OR! Nice bike collection too! You may know of a buddy of mine that raced back in the early 80's -- Dave Dewitt -- he's got a few MX state champ trophies from back then.
  15. Don't believe they've got traffic cams south of Louisville? May be wrong on that - but on my way to souther Tennessee, the statey's in KY had a "trapper" sitting on an overpass shootin' traffic and 3 other's fielding the speeders a mile or 2 after that.......almost got me if it weren't for the faster left-laners hittin' 90 past me.

    Free Bike!!!

There were 3 guys running around north Dayton with a panel van picking up bikes left and right 4 or 5 years ago - they got my buddies TL1000 in less than the 5 minutes he'd stopped at home to grab his Chatterbox so we could do a little night stealth mission - lets just say he was a scosh unhappy about it....they were eventually caught, but of course they never found his bike - Anyone here happen across a bright blue 99 TL without a title since '06 or '07?
  17. Damnit, flagged for removal......what'd I miss?
  18. Definitely a good cheap and easy to see obstacle idea - my wife will be doing some manuevering with them next month at the local mall - now to just keep from cutting off a thumbtip with my knife.....dont have a bandsaw handy;)
  19. Cant you ceramic coat Ti pipes? Heard good things about it but the bike would be down for a bit to get done......unless u got a spare system laying around
  20. They need to dump a 100 foot elevation in the middle of that infield.....that would make the track more interesting;)
  21. Me too.......figured it was postponed and DVR'd the 2 races......only this time no truckin show, flippin' nascar history crap......did manage to record Speedmakers episode about Triumph, kinda cool
  22. AMA members get discounts on sponsored events too - between that and roadside service it's well worth it IMO - but alas, my membership has expired......for now
  23. Is the rider in this vid playin' the squid, with no lid? Fool got DAMN lucky!
  24. ^^ Hahaha!! Funny, but like Ralphie May says...."You can be whipped, or you can be hand-tossed" I choose whipped but it's all good bro......she has sex with me, so we're square.
  25. Nice, just wish you were closer to me - I'd give ya some business. Got a good self-employed wrench locally that I use for tough DIY jobs like tire work - skilled independant mechanics are good guys to know
