  1. Me too. But if he's pissed about it and doesn't join us all again, so be it.....at least he's still alive and unscathed. I'd much rather have a hater than a funeral to attend
  2. Shadyone swept our group and did a stellar job as well. He communicated concerns, he watched how our other riders performed, we checked in with each other at most every stop with a thumbs up, and he ran blockade when I missed a turn so we could all whip Uee's To be honest, I did not realize how much was actually expected of a sweep until he spoke with me about the FZ09 rider. I was elated that he volunteered to caboose the group, and hope to ride with him again very soon. Is that guy in the video on the forum? I picked him up in our group right after you gents parked him, shortly after that shadyone said the same was going on in front of him, braking through the turns, bad lines, etc. AJ had him step down to the slow group when they came in behind us while we'd pulled over just before Rt33/78. If he's just learning then now is the time to get him into the msf course and some coaching. Seemed a nice dude
  3. Props to you both, and much respect to all who serve/served/fallen
  4. Damn near a reality tv version of A Few Good Men drunken antics can surely get your ass in deep
  5. You're a slim 220 man. I'm 6' @ 290 and an XL anything wouldn't fit in my pocket
  6. you just missed our 40 rider trip around Hocking valley Sunday. Nice K12
  7. Thanx for the kindness, I was mentally exhausted after yesterday from hours of jedi focus and anticipation on blind hills/turns, as well as irritation from my lack of guidance. I kept my bike in 2nd gear most of the day, and 3rd on the straighter sections just for the additional engine braking in case of surprise lefts or rights. It helped but really dented my mileage calculator, avg'd 22 mpg whereas it's usually 38mpg Get Dan a copy of that footage, he has talent in the visual arts....preferenced skills in pictorial magic
  8. Sounds like a shitty scenario. If ever I'm quoted over the phone, I always get the salesman's name. May even be a good idea to record the convo via answering machine so it can be called and repeated back to the sales mgr's ear
  9. ^^This^^ I did manage to intro myself with new folks from our side of the state before we got to Logan, but once we got to the meet spot I was all focused with why my GPS was failing and why neither of our phones would allow Google maps to initiate nav for the route. I should've commandeered Dan to get me squared away.
  10. yup, guess I did. But I still felt bad for making everyone turn around a few times. And those are some mighty kind words while I'm not home to give ya some "at right" Be home soon though
  11. I didn't take a single pic, couldn't see anything with my head up my ass all day Always good to see Dan come through with his high quality equipment and techy-know-howness
  12. Damnit.....stupid slow phone. Plus I forgot ninja edit super powers are gone Day 2 of "cant do shit right" engage
  13. Yeah, my nickname should be "wrong way dumbass"
  14. I've not owned a hairbrush or comb since the 90's.....if it's falling out, just beat it to the punch and shave it all off. 5 out of 7 days a week, I'm low maintenance
  15. It's definitely awesome riding down there, wife and I have been going the last few seasons. That place will definitely work your forearms and legs if you like getting off the bike in the corners.Which Busa? Orange or white? If you were on the white Busa, I believe we chatted at the fuel stop in Malta ( we had the same SS jacket, I was riding the only ZX14 ) and your wife's Raider was a sweet ride too. What I cant believe is you've only avg 3 posts a yearsince '09! Jeesh, should call you Lurka not Omega
  16. ^^This^^ It's all about layers if you don't have heated gear - just be sure to have a backpack or luggage of some sort to stash the extra clothing once you warm up
  17. Like you more and more every ride Dan Thanx for the photog work Dan, look forward to seeing finished products
  18. South dayton has some decent stuff, but nothing like we rode today in SEO
  19. So much of this^^^ fellow Piquanian
  20. Good to meet you too Chad, glad you could make it out, had a blast leading, and thrilled to hear you made it back safe. Get some new rubber under that bike before we plan a Dayton route ride!
  21. Huge thanx to AJ for the sweep work, dude you're awesome. I'll be your wingman any day
  22. Home safe. Had a blast. Good to meet everyone new, and to see old faces again. I thought the pace was pretty good, a few pucker moments aside. Hope I didn't ruin the riding for anyone getting us assbackwards now and then, I relied on my GPS so no real route studying was done, hence why we missed turns a few times after the GPS failed. It was my first time leading a group somewhere other than the roads back home, so it was quite an adventure with all the unfamiliar blind turns and hills - but gladly our group all kept it on 2 wheels. I'd like another try at leading this route again soon
  23. Between Paul, AJ, and myself, we'll have them backwoods badges all confused ( like thats a difficult task anyway ). Woohoo, it's damn chilly for sure.....gonna stop by Hemm's Glass on my way and see if they need help cutting any panes
