  1. I never brake check a tailgator when I'm riding. I always speed away then lane change to let them pass. A speeding ticket is far cheaper and hurts way less than a hospital stay, no matter who's at fault. Had that been me getting merged into, I'd have flipped that guys mirror forward as I sped away. Just keep the speed up enough to get away from them, if I see that they choose to remain assholish and try to catch back up, then just safely swing it into the berm and outbrake them so they have to go by. Unless I'm feeling froggy and traffic is light, then they can simply sit back and watch my little tail light fade off into the distance. Careful out there folks, there's stupidity everywhere
  2. You're not far from Sidney, so I recommend Mantor Auto & Truck. Worked with the owner ( Brian ) for a few years at Freightliner. Good guy, smart mechanic, ex Marine, hard worker, fairly priced. Here's his website, hit him up and see what he can do for ya. http://autorepairsidneyohio.com/

No thanks, I like right AND left turns. Have fun and be safe though
  5. Sorry to hear this Andy. This insurance crap is exactly that....crap. Props to you passing your raise down to others. A noble move on your part. Hopefully the surgery goes well and here's to a quick recovery. have some mild cts in my wrists as well, but it doesn't cause pain/numbness unless I put a lot of pressure on my wrists ( like pushups ) or play a lot of fast guitar. My riding doesn't bother it too much ( so far ) aside from some numbness, but a Throttle Boss helps me to open my grip and stretch my hand/wrist out now and then. A cruise control is definitely on my list of wants I need. Good luck man and please let us know how it goes
  6. I'd go with Recon's suggestion. Dont flip it to make a little cash, hard find to get one that nice for THAT price. Congrats on the best DadDay/BDay gift ever, and big props to your wife for making the call on getting it for ya.....she's keeper material
  7. Good time tonight, nice meeting everyone. We should perpetuate this into a meet & ride soon, so get that route together Ryan! Good sized crowd. Hope Russ joins up here, I enjoyed talking to him. Oldschool made time to swing by, maybe next time we can get more local OR folk to partake and make this thing BIG.
  8. We'll bring a tent to pitch in the parking lot after dinner so we won't have to load the trailer to make it back home tonight Paul, so bring firewood I almost forgot about this with the stupid busy workday today and the after effects of a 75hr work week. I've got the overworked-bobblehead-frizzlebrained-syndrom something fierce, so I may just end up sitting in a chair somewhere moaning crosseyed whilst profusely drooling on myself.
  9. Wife and I cant stay that late with early workday Monday, but we can hang for a while. Agreed on hotwing meal times, ANYTIME
  10. Hoping for good weather Sunday. I work until 5-5:30pm, but some BDubs wings for dinner sounds damn good already
  11. Nice....karma took a big wet bite outta that guy.....this story drips with absolute irony as that fat-mouthed-know-it-all gets cited for several broken laws And all because he just couldn't coerce that tongue of his into abstaining voice of his idiotic opinion
  12. Nice work Doc. I dug the soundtrack. I'm a sucker for tastefully melodic music especially when it's in minor key. Much bigger group last year, but this years group was still an impressive number considering the last minute reschedule. Hoping we can get another setup this fall
  13. Welcome fellow Piqua resident. Curious, is your Ninja 250 blue or silver? I've seen a couple of the older gen 250's of each color around town lately
  14. Nice....Thanks a pantload for making me look and sound so educated there at the end, Dan It is pretty damn funny though
  15. For that price I was assuming they were polymer, but it's actually 7075-T6 so appears to be a good deal. Hard telling how long the backorders would take to fill though
  16. We live in the neighborhood around Fountain Park at the north end of town. Hope to see you out and about
  17. Sucks to dump a bike. I've done it once and that was on my first streetbike ( KZ550 ) as a teen, a few ill placed rocks at mid corner about 35mph is all it took. I faired well enough, my left leg was sprained from groin to ankle, but the bike took a header into a pole. The headlamp, gauges, and front fender were toast and right side case got shaved a bit. I fixed it back up and sold it. Didn't ride street again for the next 10 years ( mainly due to lack of money thanks to my ex, and my daughter being born also kept me grounded a bit more ) but I stayed active with dirtbikes that whole time. Shortly after my "true" wife and I met, I was in a good financial position so I bought my dream bike - a '97 YZF1000R. Took to it like flies to shit. Loving every minute of it since. I wasn't scared to get back on a street bike, I was just poor, living at home with the folks, and so deep into guitars/equip that my money was spent up as soon as I got it. I went back to dirtbiking simply due to it being inexpensive. Like these guys are saying, gear up and get that Vulcan out for some post dump rehabilitation. Take it slow, think ahead, and let muscle memory set back in. You'll be back to normal in no time. Good luck
