  1. Barnacle Bill Burns. Heard good things about him. Custom suits, suit repairs, alterations, etc. http://www.racingleather.com/
  2. Nice price....figures mine are already ordered, mailed to me, and now overpaid for
  3. I ordered bolts for my ZX14 that come predrilled. Saved the old hardware ( just in case ) -- they have quite a bit of race spec hardware of various metals, and anodized in various colors, so you can get fancy with it if you want. www.probolt.com
  4. Sad numbers for a 500. My wife's Ninja 300 has more gitty up than that GS My votes are SV650, Ninja 650R ( Tall Tracy has a superb specimen for sale now ), or the FZ6. The Vtwins have better torque down low, are light and nimble, but the FZ cant be discounted in any catagory either. Ride em all, pick your favs, shop away
  5. Ah hell, I assumed by mileage contest that this was a fuel saver competition. Was about to go pull a plug wire and injector wire from the wifes 300 so her tiny ass would win hands down at over 100mpg Outside of commuting, we dont pile too many miles. Maybe collectively we have 1k extra curricular miles so far this year

    Garage security

I have our garage entry door's deadbolt running into a 36" length of 1"diameter gas pipe ( or possibly 3/4", cant remember, but the deadbolt barely fits which is key for rigidity ) thats ran through the door frame, secondary stud, and 2 more wallstuds. Also reinforced the frame/hinges with a pile of long screws. Keeping the door well lit helps as well. Sucks to hear, I despise thieves.
  7. I wont buy a bike that shows it's had obvious neglect. I may be a bit of a maintenance nazi, but it can save a life in some circumstances. That, in itself, makes it well worth the time/money invested.
  8. Ah, didn't catch you'd mentioned quickshifter on the first page. That's still a far less risky option than having to consistently clutch it through your passes. Definitely some nice upgrades on the bike
  9. Dude, they're everywhere! Here's just a handful that I found on a search http://mansfield.craigslist.org/mcd/4461789225.html http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/4504070677.html http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/4514653731.html http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/4516279750.html http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcd/4526434222.html http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/mcd/4517497707.html http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/mcy/4537002102.html http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/mcy/4529649780.html This one is a bit further away, but $1k cheaper than most at $2600 http://annarbor.craigslist.org/mcy/4517972282.html
  10. Sweet setup. I'd like to see it run the strip or the Ohio mile. Cant tell in the pics, but are those BST wheels? And you only took right side photos, so are you going to footshift that thing running nitrous or is it setup with an airshifter?
  11. I always take my key with me, but have forgotten it in the ignition once or twice at work. Congrats on getting back on 2 wheels
  12. If we didn't already have things going on this weekend this looks like fun. Maybe another time
  13. C'mon Doc, dont be such a tease.....good beginning so far though
  14. You build that R1 or buy it done? Do you run it at the dragstrip/mile?
  15. Sorry to hear of your stolen steed, good luck on the trackbike hunt
  16. Thieves should be shot in the face with an RPG, sorry for your loss
  17. I have absolutely nothing to add here other than nice "avatard" Tpoppa
  18. I know the feeling Ryan. I learned by quoting others' pic posts just so I could see how they added their file extensions
  19. First and foremost, and with all due respect....Rule of the road 1 - rearn two sprell. Rule of the road 2 - Proofreading. It will help you ensure your sprell chequer isn't bustimicated. Rule of the road 3 - Punctuation is worth it's weight in sentences, and helps others to know where those actually begin and end. Expected comprehension can only be as good as the information given
  20. Step 1 - Run right out an buy the new Busa. Learn the hard way the first time, just to get it out of the way. Step 2 - Master wheelies early on since it looks way cooler on an episode of Cops than just the typical eluding. Step 3 - Burnouts, burnouts, burnouts! Because they're just a cool way of asserting your dominance over all other riders. Step 4 - Once you can safely wheelie out of a burnout, only then upgrade to the Vmax.....should be the following week. In all seriousness, you're going about it the right way. SV650 is my vote too. Great all around machine
  21. 250 Rebel is something to start on at least. If you stick with it, you'll likely grow tired of it and upgrade to a larger bike in a season or so. A 750 vtwin cruiser is plenty tame enough and much more comfy
  22. Yeah, what she said ^^^ between my work schedule, weekends with my daughter, and random band gigs, a free Sunday evening can be a rarety for us. We will try and make them when we can though. Good on ya Ryan for spearheading this bikenight here, wife and I wanted to do something similar these last few years but life's little schedules prevail most of the time.
