Sportbikes aren’t necessarily designed for comfort, but there are ways that this can be improved. One of the easiest is to replace the stock seat with a new one from Saddlemen. Their high-quality seats not only make your ride a lot more comfortable, but they also look great. Riders Discount has a few different Saddlemen seat options available for most modern sportbikes, and while the styles may differ, all use Saddlemen’s Gel-Channel design. This means that the seats have a channel of proprietary SaddleGel running through each side of the foam base. This gel helps distribute rider weight more evenly in order to eliminate pressure points and increase bloodflow. Details and photos of the available options are below, but these Saddlemen seats are not yet listed on the website. If you’re interested, be sure to contact Nathan for more information. You can give him a call at 866.931.6644 ext. 809, or send him a message through the forum. You can also feel free to send us an email if that’s more convenient for you. Send those to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM with “Saddlemen Seat” in the subject line and we’ll get back to you right away! Track CF Seat The “Track” style series has hard-line looks that can’t be matched by any seat on the market. These seats are covered in a high-tech, carbon fiber-look cover that provides superb grip. Each “Track” seat is slightly bucketed in the rear section to contour to the rider’s body for better control during aggressive riding. Track Seat The same as the Track CF seat, only it features a smooth cover and contrasting brushed aluminum strip in the center channel. Sport Seat The “Sport” style series uses black-on-black, easy-to-clean cover material for the entire top portion of the seat with a matching center strip. Each “Sport” seat is slightly bucketed in the rear section to contour to the rider’s body for better control during aggressive riding. Tech Seat The “Tech” style series incorporates high-quality, flexible fabric top covers that breathe well and are textured to allow the body to move on the seat for aggressive maneuvering. Just under the top cover is a layer of memory foam that contours to the shape of the rider’s body with additional memory foam in areas strategically positioned for maximum comfort.

Can't we all just get along? -
There is no Stella line for the GP Pro gloves at this time, but these do run smaller than the standard Alpinestars lineup. PM sent

We were curious to see how the Liquid Image EGO compared to the GoPro, so we mounted them side-by-side on the Riders Discount pit cart and went for a quick spin. Let us know what you think of the results! (Note: Both videos were actually shot in 60 FPS, and are smoother when viewed independently.) In case you're curious about the set-up, here's how the two cameras were mounted.

Since their introduction, the Alpinestars GP Pro gloves have been one of the best selling pairs in the Alpinestars glove line-up. Their great balance of protection, comfort, and price made them extremely popular for both the track and the street. Now, for their Fall 2012 release, Alpinestars has brought out the new, re-engineered version of the the GP Pro’s, and they don’t disappoint. Apart from the new styling, the new GP Pro gloves look quite similar to the outgoing version. This is because defining features like the TPU knuckle protectors and cuff have already proven to be extremely effective at the top levels of racing and did not need to be changed. Don’t let the similar appearance fool you, because Alpinestars did make some key improvements. The most important addition is probably the L-shaped slider that sits on outside of each palm. This TPU piece helps keep the hand from catching in the event of a palms out landing. It is extremely abrasion resistant and slick so that impact energy is deflected into a slide, rather than being transmitted up the hand and into the wrist. Alpinestars kept their patented finger-bridge connecting the pinky to the ring finger, but the pinky itself received a big upgrade. Replacing the old double-layered leather is a significantly stronger system that Alpinestars calls K-Tech. This surrounds the pinky in two layers of Kevlar, two layers of leather, and energy absorbing foam for very high levels of impact protection and abrasion resistance. A Kevlar lining also covers the top of the hand, all fingers and outside of the thumb. One of the reasons that so many loved the GP Pro’s in the first place was lightweight, flexible feel. The excellent feel is still there, thanks to the kangaroo palm, and flexibility has been improved. Alpinestars accomplished this by adding a large leather stretch panel to the thumb and revising the other, existing stretch panels on the fingers. The leather portion on the top of the hand, just below the hard TPU cuff has also been re-designed. It now allows for more motion and features perforation for air-flow. The old GP Pro model was already the glove of choice for many here at Riders Discount, and it looks like that will continue to be the case with the new version. If you’re interested in getting a pair for yourself, you can do so by getting in touch with MIKE. He can be reached through the forum or by calling 866.931.6644 ext. 804. Is email more convenient for you? Go ahead and send those to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM and we’ll get back to you right away! The brand new Alpinestars GP Pro gloves are shown here in one of the new designs that feature outlines of the GP tracks. A new slider sits on each palm. The contoured, L shape protects both the palm and outside of the hand. Alpinestars’ patented finger-bridge works with the K-Tech system to protect the pinky. The kangaroo palm provides excellent feel, and it has been strengthened in areas that tended to wear quickly on the old version. MSRP $239.95

Faceboook You can see these at the MotoSeries event at Grattan in person (weather depending). Should have a production of these for the Suzuki and other applications in the future, no word on pricing.

Would you like heated gloves, or just insulated gloves with no heating element?
