  1. HJC has revamped their line-up for the fall by adding a new line of premium helmets that all carry the name RPHA. This new R line of helmets was designed primarily with high performance and minimal weight in mind. The technology that was used to accomplish these goals was developed with input from Ben Spies for the RPS-10 helmet that he has been sporting since his debut in the premier MotoGP class. Spies may not be having much luck in his 2012 season, but this doesn’t change the fact that he has one of the coolest looking lids in the paddock. We’ve been getting questions about this helmet all season here at Riders Discount, and we’re happy to say that the new Ben Spies Monster II replica is now available on the newly launched RPHA-10 helmet. The shell of the RPHA-10 is an advanced composite that combines carbon fiber, fiberglass epoxy, aramid epoxy and organic fibers in a precisely aligned weave that excels in strength, energy absorption and weight savings. HJC calls this their Performance Integrated Matrix (P.I.M.) construction and it saves weight by reducing unnecessary overlap and resin build-up. The PIM shell is not only strong and light, but it is also aerodynamic and quiet thanks to extensive CAD design and wind-tunnel testing. A hot helmet is an uncomfortable helmet, so HJC made sure that the RPHA-10 is able to keep your head cool and comfortable in warm weather. Ventilation comes from two large intakes on the top of the head, and one on the chin. All three are highly adjustable to allow for variable amounts of airflow depending on the conditions. These vents move a lot of air through the helmet without the higher noise levels that can come from some ventilation systems. Inside the shell, the full-removable/washable SilverCool liner helps wick away moisture and features a Gingko extract coating for a natural anti-bacterial guard. All RPHA-10 helmets come with a clear Pinlock shield and insert for the best in anti-fog vision. These shields also feature a center locking mechanism at the request of Ben Spies. This prevents the shield from accidentally popping open if you turn your head to look behind you or to the sides. The RPHA-10 Ben Spies Monster Replica II Helmet is so new that it isn’t listed on our website yet, so be sure to contact Nathan if you’re interested. You can send him a PM through this forum or give him a call at 866.931.6644 ext 809. If email is more convenient, feel free to send one to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM with “RPHA-10 Spies Replica” in the subject line and we’ll get back to you right away!
  2. Yes, yes you do Chris lol Ryan - post some pics of the oil coming out of these guys' bikes. it'll be interesting to see how bad some of it looks, and also reinforce the importance of getting it done. This was mine on my old 99 R6, 10 years of no oil change:
  3. Top Gear, they can do Top Gear right. And motorsports on TV. They can do that right as well.
  4. Black isn’t the only color available for the Liquid Image Ego camera. Riders Discount also has them in white, red, blue and yellow for those of you that want something different.
  5. If you need parts or help don't hesitate to use any of the vendors! Good luck and a great start
  6. Here at Riders Discount, we definitely have a passion for all things motorcycle related. Whether it’s on the street, track or the dirt - as long as there are two wheels involved (or even four if it’s an ATV), we’re interested. We know a lot of you feel the same way, so we wanted to send out a reminder that we not only have you covered for your street and track bike needs, but for all your offroad needs as well. Feel free to get in touch with Nathan if you need any offroad gear, parts or accessories and he’ll make sure you’re taken care of. You can reach him at 866.931.6644 ext 809 or through this forum. If email’s more convenient, you can send them to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM and we’ll get right back to you! We also thought we’d share a couple of new toys that were dropped off at the RD headquarters recently, along with some of the additions we’ve made so far. Our new KTM 250 XC-F and 250 SX-F are nice and clean... for now. They’ll be getting a thorough workout in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula this coming weekend. They’re great bikes from the start, but we wanted to add a bit more - starting with an Akrapovic EVO Titanium header for the XC-F. A titanium slip-on was also added to complete the system. The SX-F also received a titanium Akrapovic slip-on of its own. Both bikes will be hitting the trails, so a set of aluminum bark busters and hand guards from Moose Racing were added to the SX-F. Moose Racing aluminum skid plates were added to protect the frame and engine.
  7. We sell XT and we'll be at Grattan (or at least I will). Wonder if I can convince the bossman to bring the semi rig haha
  8. No worries, we can help you out with whatever direction you want to go. The Triumph 675 platform is pretty much our specialty right now...
  9. In general, motorcycle boots that offer the most protection are not the most comfortable. High end, highly protective track oriented boots are fine for race distances, but they’re not the type most people would want to wear everyday on their commute. This is where the Sidi Cobra comes in. It’s a boot that is comfortable enough for street riding, without compromising too much in the way of protection. The Cobra is in the middle of the Sidi range, and it comes in three different versions - the standard Cobra, Cobra Air, and Cobra Rain. All three versions retain enough features from higher end models like the Vortice, ST and Vertigo that they are able to provide very solid protection. Both the heel and toe are heavily reinforced, with replaceable protectors on both. Various molded protectors are also found on the shins and sides of the boots in order to absorb and deflect impact energy in the event of a fall. Sidi’s patented Vertebra system is in place on the rear to protect the vulnerable achilles tendon. It is made up of two pieces that slide together to not only absorb energy, but also provide flexibility. This flexibility is one of the aspects that makes these boots comfortable, but it is not the only one. The interior of the boots are lined with a teflon mesh that is spaced out to allow pockets of air to sit between your foot and the outer layer. This not only gives it a plush feel, but helps keep your feet at a comfortable temperature. Elastic stretch panels are found in both the calf and running parallel to the zipper. This means that the boots will be even more conform to a wide variety of foot/leg shapes and they are easy to zip closed. Sidi’s Cobra boots are a great option for anyone that needs a riding boot that is comfortable enough for long rides and protective enough for the occasional track day. Sidi boots are not yet listed on our website, so be sure to get in touch with Nathan if you’re interested. You can send him a PM through this forum or give him a call at 866.931.6644 ext 809. If email is more convenient, feel free to send one to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM with “Sidi Cobra Boots” in the subject line and we’ll get back to you right away! The perforated Sidi Cobra Air is shown here, but we also have the standard Cobra and the waterproof, breathable Cobra Rain versions available. The reinforced toe box features a shift pad and replaceable toe slider. An energy absorbing heel cup is found at the back of the boot and it is easily replaceable if damaged. Replaceable, dual compound soles are designed to protect your feet from impacts while remaining flexible enough to walk in. MSRP: Cobra Rain - $280.00 Cobra/Cobra Air - $260
  10. Is your old backpack not cutting it anymore going to school or work? We still have a few of these left in stock, call us or message us and get your limited edition bag today!
  11. To the best of my knowledge, this would be the same shock that's installed in the 675R currently with the main difference being the one on the 675R does not have the hydraulic preload adjuster that this one does. The main differences between this and the MKII are fresh valving, less stiction, and an overall lighter weight.
  12. Riders Discount has very limited quantities of the Öhlins TTX MKI for your Triumph 675 on sale for just $829! The TR 889 model TTX shock comes with separate compression and rebound damping circuits located on the shock body and a remote adjust preload circuit. The shock also allows you to change its length by adjusting a pair of nuts at the lower mounting point. This is the exact same shock we use on our own 675 racebike – arguably one of the best handling bikes we have in our lineup right now. We have also used these shocks on our other race bikes, including the BMW S1000RR and the YZF-R1 because they’re easy to set up and provide superior traction at the track. Öhlins Suspension components are not yet available on our website. To order yours, send a PM or give Nathan a call at 866.931.6644 ext 809. You can also email us for more information – send those to FORUM at RIDERSDICOUNT dot COM with DAYTONA 675 OHLINS TTX in the subject line and we’ll get back to you right away. Every TTX shock will come sprung for your weight and riding style.
  13. I built one a while back, 1 4x8 plywood (cut in half = 2 2x8) 6 4x4 18" (or whatever your desired height is) some length of 2x4 for framing (~20') wood screws wood glue I also had thin 3.5" wood that went along the length of the table to cover the side of the plywood. Yes, that's outside. PITA moving my heavy toolbox from the basement everytime I needed to wrench, I had no garage at my old place in cbus :/
  14. We are down to 2 left in small, medium and large in these limited edition jackets. Give us a call today to get yours!
  15. This^ You learn to always plan your "out" assuming a multitude of different scenarios. This plan changes all the time though with changing variables. I don't think most people realize how aware (most) motorcyclists are and in turn translates into being more aware in the car as well.
  16. Building up the ol' Dodge again there Vin Diesel?
  17. Unfortunately I don't have rims or hubs for that bike.
  18. Alpinestars suits do not all fit the same, some are true to size while others are up or down a size. For the most part, their gloves are similar to other brands. The one real exception is the GP Pro and Tech glove which runs small, i.e. if you normally wear a medium glove and want to purchase the Pro or Tech, we'd order you a large. Similar with their boots. If you start with any of their entry level boots, you could carry the same size up through the SMX-Plus until you get to the Supertech R which run large in which we'd recommend going the next size down. What Ryan mentioned with the Plus is actually quite unusual. I would almost venture to say he had the Stella (womens) line GP Plus glove on. PMs are on their way fellas, Ben's got me time limited on how fast I can send messages so I don't break the website
  19. The GoPro mounts are definitely very similar. We were able to use our GoPro mounts with the Ego camera but it was slightly more difficult getting them to slide on than the GoPro. This could have been due to the brand new Ego mounts, or a slight difference in the mounts. Nevertheless, we got them to work together. PMs on their way.
  20. Thanks, we'll have our own video to put up shortly.
