  1. My 2 are now 28 and 26, we did Sunday morning breakfast rides every Spring and Summer, alternating Sundays. But, they had to be tall enough to rest their feet on the pass. pegs. That way they could absorb the vibration of bumps. I taught them how to flex their leg muscles to make the hit less a shock. They always were fully geared-up like me, and on my Wings, they were locked in with the pass. arm bars available from many after market comp. And the thing about falling asleep, my daughter even into high school would be leaning over the arm bars, sound asleep after a ride for bkfst. I do have problems with kids and no gear, but usually they are with a rider who is also wearing their backyard barbeque gear also. So the apple doesn't fall far from the tree in that case I just don't want to be there when they fall and are looking at their mangeled kid. How many of these same parents will spend $150 for a pair of frickin jeans, but not buy gear for the crash, scarry to think. Ride safe all. And please. ATGATT. Greg
  2. Have you seen his "Racoon In The Attic" commercial yet? He is a riot, I saw him on a morning show a while ago. He is just as funny in real life. I don't use Allstate, but I do like their commercials with "Mr. Mayhem". Ride safe all, and ATGATT, please. Greg
  3. Jagr, Yep, you got it, and I am a huge closet Lesbian also. Ride safe all, whatever you ride or who. And ATGATT please. Greg
  4. In retrospect, I was'nt really upset, but it would have been nice to just ask him "Why" he would say that to a complete stranger, especially one twice his size. I guess it just reinforces a favorite saying of mine. "You can't fix Stupid" TY Ron White. Ride safe all, and ATGATT please, remember, someonw Loves you. Greg
  5. How is this looking for participants? I know I'll be there, trying to get a couple riding buddies to join me also. Ride safe all, Greg
  6. Good job Shawn, You will find that the Concours is a very easy bike to work on, I'm on my 2nd. and do all my own work. Get the Clymer manual, it is the copy of the Kawi Shop manual, just cheaper. Any questions. let me know, I'll try anything once. Ride safe all, and ATGATT please. Greg
  7. Ok.... Just heard from my SIL, my riding buddy and my SIL's mom , who drives a school bus. You "Do Not" have to stop if you are in the far rt. ln. of a 4 lane, you are required to slow to 20 or below for safety reasons. Now heres the But: Each school distict and municipality has the right to adjust this, due to the road and situation of the drop off or pick-up. In other words, check with your locals about their interpitation of the law, and if your out and about, slow and for safety, just stop for the minute or so for safety's sake. Hope this helps, some. Ride safe all, and ATGATT please. Greg
  8. Serp, I actually thought it was someone I knew, it has been yelled before at a local restraunt I was meeting them at. But when he took off running i decided he probably didn't know me. In hindsite, I should have waited him out, but the scripts were for my very sick wife, and it just wasn't worth getting arrested for assault of a mentally handicapped person. Ride safe all, and ATGATT please. Greg
  9. My SIL is a Sheriff, the RVC is correct with one exception. You must stop with a painted line center, regardless of speed of road. If there is a median 4 ft. or wider, you can proceed after stopping. It sounds a litle strange, but I guess it is left up to the Leo. I have the question out to another cop buddy, no response yet. But.... You should have stopped, for no other reason then that kids can be unpredictable. Ride safe all, And ATGATT please. Greg
  10. I had to go to CVS today, cruised in front and swung around to a parking space. Got off and took my glasses off and started to pull my helmet off. I hear: "Only Pussies wear gear". I finish my removal, spin around and see no one, no cars with people, no cars rolling by. I keep looking and then see this little sawed off shit peeking around a pillar in front of the store. I take my 6'3", 250lb. bald headed, go-teed chin, and strole his way. He makes a be-line into Kroger in definate retreat mode. I decided not to go in and try to educate an idiot. Or something like that. So....I was just wondering what the masses on here might do. Be nice now, some people can't control what their inbreed parents did. Anyway, ride safe all, and ATGATT, no matter what some people would say. Greg
  11. Ok.. My grandaughter is just to big for this anymore. She used it as a baby bed in her early years, then as a day bed. But at 5, she is now a "Big" girl, and needs a bigger bed. So, on the sale table it goes. It is a little ove 5 yrs old, was new, has a Baby Sealy mattress and a complete set of linnens for the bed. The hardwear is designed to convert from an slider front to a panel front, all hardware is there. It is in excellent condition, it just needs a home. So if you or someone you know need a bed, please give me a call or an e-mail. Phone: 937-508-5477 E-mail: decolag@hotmail.com $150 if you pick-up, Gas money if I deliver. Ride safe all, and ATGATT please. Greg SEE LAST THREAD FOR NEW PRICE
  12. The rider is a local college student. He was rushed to surgery for his injuries. Lets hope they put brains in that tell the dumbass that gearing up might have helped. Sorry, but I don't feel sorry for Stupid. It's just to easy to be safe. Ride safe all, and ATGATT please. Greg
  13. Ahhhh... mistakes. What can be said about them ? It is our God given human condition to make them. Our very existence and daily adventures are governed by "mistakes". As an educator and coach for yrs now, it is what we do. I use sports as the easiest example. All sports, are directly related to "Mistakes". Think about this for a second. I won't list what I have seen over the yrs. there is only so much band width on the WWW. Now, riding a motorcycle, again, mistakes can accumulate, and then it happens. Take a step back, and look at your routine before you go for a ride. Are the tires up to preasure, whats the mistake here? How are my brake pads, when did I change them last, am I geared -up for the crash or for a backyard barbaque ? In traffic, do I give myself an "out" if things go south. Hopefully , you see what this thread is all about, like I have always told my athletes before a competition: "Keep your mistakes to a minimum, and your chances of winning are greatly improved". Now go have some fun. Ride safe all, and ATGATT please. Remember, someone Loves you. Greg
  14. This could be ugly, but a good Lawyer could help. This will be interesting to see how it pans out. Ride safe all.. Greg
  15. Now if your going to crash, make one for the books. OMFG, so many things went wrong with that one. i want to see his bike cam, if it survived. Ride safer then he did all. Greg
  16. Well..... I was riding around the otherday, just hitting some roads I haven't been on in a while, and came into Jamestown from the west. I was on Old US35 and came upon Roddy's Motorcyle Shop on the outskirts of town. A few bikes out front, all used and brought back to life by Roddy and his staff. I walked in and sitting to my rt. was a bike I haven't seen in a long time. A factory white, Honda, CB750 Hondamatic. Not cherry , but still it looked good. Roddy came around the corner, introduced himself, and said he had another one in back. This one a factory Blue, with Bates bags and trunk and a Vetter Plexifairing II. And with just 18k on the clock. To see one is unique, but to see 2 of those classics, is just plain lucky. Both could use some TLC, but both ran and both would get you down the road just fine. So if you want to see some classics, drop by Roddy's in Jamestown, he'll great you with a smile, and envite you to walk through his building, and adjacent barns, full of old bikes. Just thought I'd give him a plug, a nice guy with a nice oldschool shop. Ride safe all, and ATGATT please. Greg
  17. Anthony, I was down and did the show with your sub when you were on vacation. I am sorry, I have misplaced his name. we had a great time chatting about everything motorcycles.
