OK....my 2 cents. My SIL is a Sherrif, and one of my best riding buddies is one also. OHIO law states that Eye protection is required, sunglasses, perscription, goggles, etc. An officer has the law behind him to check the type of safety eyewear is being worn. The worst part of this is that they have to check at all. You can't fix Stupid. To ride anything like a Motorcycle, and not where some type of eye protection is just plain STUPID. I have a full-face that I flip up when slowing and in city traffic. I also wear prescription glasses, and if I take them off, I can't hear you. I ride a Concours with a windscreen standard, but I still am concerned with eye protection. I have mine made with industrial grade safety glass, just because I can. 38 yrs and no eye injuries, ever, I like my odds by doing it the right way. JMHO. Ride safe all. Greg

Ron White says it best: "You can't fix Stupid" And remember, Ohio ranks 6th in our wonderful USA, with Inbreeding. Maybe we should do it like they do in Turkey. You get caught steeling, they cut your hand off in a public forum. You rape, you lose your johnson, in public. You kill, you are stoned to death, by the public, in a public forum. Crime is surprisingly low in Turkey. Common crimes, I speak of. Oh well, another time and place I guess. We will get a chance to do it all over again sometime anyway. Everyone ride safe out there. Not sure what the Bentlys insurance premium might be for that one, but I knew a man who did very well a while back in a .com purchase and sale. He got a monstor 4 door tank from Bentley. I believe it was a Shadow, or a Ghost, I can't remember the model. But what a car, unbelievable luxury and comfort. He paid $365,000 for it, and it was used. But what really set me back was his insurance, he paid $1750.00 a month. It was not financed, he paid cash, he said if it was financed, it would have cost him close to $3k per month. I guess if you got it, all i could do was shake my head and climb back on my Concours and ride home. Ride safe all. Greg

There are levels of beauty, that are just so hard to explain. Some are just so breath taking that all that can be said is "WOW". There are others that you just classic. Kate is easily one of the most beautiful women on this rock we call Earth. JMHO, but I pretty much know where my earlobes would be stitched. And i also know that she isn't ready for me, yet. I also want to thank her Mom and Dad for banging boots good enough to produce her. Ride safe all. Greg

Tim, This looks like fun, but I did go to the website and looked at the pics library. It looks like it is very heavy on the HD types, if so, is there a negative light shined on non cruiser riders? I don't have a problem with neg. feedback about riding a Concours, but I also don't want to pay my fees, and look like a junior high kid at his first dance. I would be up for a campout and would probably arrive on Fri evening. Please let me know, I might have a few buddies who would join in the fun, they are the ones that are a little apprehensive about possible attitudes. Thanks for any info you can privide. Ride safe all. Greg

This is looking like apretty good M & G & E, I am definatly going to be there. I was just a little curious though, I see that it is an open invetation that covers a 5 hr spread. Is there a time that is best for meeting, greeting and eating ? Is it the kind of thing where you arive early, eat and then come up with a ride with others ? I have done these, and it can be a pretty good way to see some roads and sights. So what do you all think ? Thanks for any input, and please, everyone ride safe. Greg

Well.....lets see. Not in any particular order, I can't think back that far. 2001 Connie: 72,000 (present ride) 1977 Gold Wing: 138,000 (Traveling show bike) 1983 CB-900C: 68,000 (Traveling show bike) 1986 Gold Wing: 34,000 (gone) 1983 CB650SC: 36,000 (gone) 1982 CBX: 8,000 (Stolen, never seen again) 1974 CB350: 6,000 (Friend totaled) 1970 BMW R65: 75,000 (Not my miles, but owned for a friend, divorce thing) That's about it. Ride safe all. Greg

Matt, You might be pushing the seams on these, they are both Adult XL, but they are not oversized at all. You are a big dude, and I just think these would be way to tight. I am 6'3" and 245, and the jacket is barely right. Nlow...as far as the style. These came out from Hondaline in 1984 with the introduction of the GL1200. I got an 86 in 86 and did these for night time riding. I also had an Aerostitch onepiece suit that was armoured. I gera up for everything, and these did not get very much use at all. I will get some pics and post them, thet are very nice and clean, and show little to no wear and tear. Thanks for the interest, ands everyone ride safe out there. Greg

Well I just got home from todays ride, it was a hot one to say the least. Ran into Dgtl Girl and her sig. other, and we discussed how this cause should be looked at by this OhioRiders group. As a whole, with contributions from dealers and independent groups , this Marysville ride donated $60,048.00 dollars for a yrs worth of donations. A husband and wife cxontributed $10k , just from their efforts. I would like to make a challange to this group of riders, to try to get into this cause for these kids. This group is raising money for research into Pediatric Brain Tumor Care and Cure. I have no problem being a chair person for this effort. It would be amazing if we as a group could do something, anything in the contribution field for these kids and their families. Give me some input on this if you would. I know money is tight for everyone, but this just seems like a cause that could affect anyone of us at anytime. And our good luck in it not happening, is worth a few bucks here and there. Let me know if you would like to participate, again, I have no problem being the rep for this. Lets do something good here. Thanks for looking and considering, ride safe all. Greg

In this high humidity season, it is even more important to treat the fuel and tank with a good water evap additive. I use ISOHeat, in the red bottle on every 3rd tank full. I put in about 1/3 the bottle with the fill-up, and let the ride that follows as the mixer. I would also recommend that you keep your tank as full as possible. The humidity and the heat from your moter when you park her will cause some condensation in a half full tank. I have done for so many yrs I can't remember, but I do remember how many times I have had to pull the carbs, 0. JMHO, everybody ride safe out there. Greg

Well if you are not aware of this, I will let you know. The audio outside that sounds like a sport bike setting the rear tire ablaze is subliminal. And have you ever noticed the slight smell of fuel as you hit the door, it's criminal how they bate us. Ride safe all. Greg

I have my Concours stickered up , I wear a Uridiam faceshield on my HJC, and I gear up for every ride I do. The other part is that I am bald with gray trim and a gray go-te. I get some interesting looks at times, and the conversations are sometimes there to. I am considerate to every rider I can be, sport, cruiser, no problem. My Connie is neither, and with the KMW stickers on the side fairing, "Nice BMW" comes out sometimes also. I just point at the "KAWASAKI" on the tank and laugh to myself. And in 38 yrs on the road, I have never had a problem being considerate. Ride safe all, and watch the heat. Greg

This is an early Sport Touring bike, that is a wonderful ride. I had one for 6 yrs, put 67k miles on her, and did nothing but oil, fiters, and tires, never even had to mess with the carbs. And that 10 speed transmission is excellent for 2 up riding. I would recommend it if it is as clean running as it is clean in pics. Ride safe all. Greg

My work schedule and the lateness of me finding out about this poses a question. If I have no donations, is it still $35 for me to ride with the groups? Others I have done, not this one, has been no charge, so I was just wondering. Thanks for any input. Ride safe all. Greg

Now this goes back a few yrs now, but I got a thief in a way I gaurantee you have never heard. My 79 Mustang was one of the easiest cars ever made to get into. A huge door window, due to it being a 2 door, , a screwdriver and you are in. In the 4 yrs I owned it, it was broken into 6 times, and the stereo was the only thing taken. The 6th time was it, the next stereo I put in was a cheap one, I screwed razor blades to the top side edges, hanging just 1/4" over the edges. I then mounted a chain on the back of it, so it can only come out of the dash about 12". I had the car in for service, it was parked outside at the dealership and the first night it was broken into. I got a call from the service manager and he told me the car got broken into, and i should come out to inspect the damage. I got there and there was blood all over the seat, floor and door. Not to mention a large puddle of blood on the ground beside the car. Who ever tried to pull the stereo out had his hands sliced open from the razor blades. I immediatly called the 2 local hospitals and asked if there was anyone in with large cuts on their hands. It only took one call to find the culprit, he was till in the emergency room getting stitched up. It turned out it was one of the service tecks that was working on my car. He called in sick and wasn't at work, odviously. I called the cops, they went to the Hospital and he claims he cut his hands on a windshiel that broke. The cops liked my idea, but also warned me that I could be in trouble if he pushes it. He never did, but he doesn't have full use of his hands due to the damage from his little stunt. I don't feel sorry for him in the least, Turnabouts fareplay, Don't fuck with me, and I won't fuck with you. Ride safe all. Greg

We need a poll to see how she will make the money she will need for her other legal costs, or payback of services in the beginning of this out of control roller coaster ride. 1). A Book deal 2). Interviews, via TV or Internet Or my guess: 3). A series of porn videos, she seems to love to be pounded, and for 3 yrs she's had little to nothing. She was already offered a million for a vid, for her, that would be the quickest and easiesr. JMHO. Ride safe all. Greg

I have been riding longer then I have known my wife. She has ridden with me for our 32 yrs of knowing each other, but never, ever on a tour ride. Even when I had Wings in my stables, she just has never been interested in longer tours. One reason is possibly because she falls asleep in about 10 minutes of riding. I had arm bars on my Wings, just to keep her partially upright when we would ride. And to tell you the truth, I Love to ride and camp, period, her idea of roughing it, is Room Service. So I ride and tour solo, what are you going do? Ride safe all. Greg

Well my trip on the Roadrunner ride didn't happen due to a change in a family thing, but I did an excellent run described here: Started the trip from my home here in Springfield around 10am, headed S on 68 to the light just N of Yellow Springs. Turned E on 343 and headed toward Clifton and Rt. 72. Got to 72 and turned S, headed for Hillsboro. 72 does hook-up with 62 as it enters Hillsboro. Here is where the ride starts: 73 S / E is a very nice and curvy trek headed toward Portsmouth on the river. The road is a mid-level technical run. As you get further S, especially down below Locust Grove, the road gets good a twisty, quite a few very wide sweepers. As the hills get more fequent, the blind twisties do become more prominent. The road is in excellent condition and very clean of runoff and debris. I got through Fri traffic in Port. and linked up with Rt. 52 on the river. Turning W and working along the river was surprisinly quiet from traffic. The road quality is not very good. Lots of road snakes, and center line seams from what looked like half lane work, shoulder inward. This W route takes you along the southern section of Shawnee State Park. The river is hard to see most of this run, way to much tree growth. There are a few open sections, but you have to look pretty quickly. Cont. W through Buena Vista and Rome, heading toward Wrightsville , a big powerplant and Rt. 247. This is a very fun road, lots of sweepers with quite a few near edge switchbacks. Hint on this road, follow the speed indicated, some of these are quite a few blind entrances and exits. I did hit this during evening, and the traffic was a liitl heavier then I like, but still a pretty good pace was had. This run will put rt. back into Hillsboro, at the same intersection you went through earlier in the day. This is a pretty good days ride, from my garage door to gd was 265 miles. Positives: Plenty of Gas stops easily available along the whole route. Most have snacks, drinks and restrooms. Plenty of food also, all the chains, some Mom and Pop and plenty of icecream shops. Roads are in excellent shape, except for 52, just take your time and be careful. Negatives: Big Trucks do make this run sometimes, and they do get in the way a few times. Be careful, there are not very many pass zones along this route, you will have to go against the double yellow sometimes. Overview: This is a very good days ride, State Parks all around, plenty of scenery, excellent views of the southern hilly terain covered in green. I would guess that a weekend run will have less traffic, especially trucks, but still not bad on a weekday. I am thinking of offering this ride to the masses in the middle to late August. We will see how it goes. Here are a few pics, hope you enjoy. Ride safe all. Greg

Anyone want to run over to the Hooters get together Fri. evening with me? The weather looks perfect, if it holds, it is only a 45 min run from my place here in Springfield, and if you want to check it out, come with me. Drop me a note on here, or shoot me an e-mail @ decolag@hotmail.com. I plan on hitting the road between 5:30 and 6:00. My address is : 1975 Willoughby Ave., Springfield Ohio. I'm just off Middle-Urbana Rd. a little N of Northridge. Mapquest or Google maps me, I'm very easy to find. The garage door will be up and my Sonic Blue concours will be parked out front. Lets see if we can get a nice group of Dayton riders for a Hilliard Hooters run. Hope to see you, ride safe all. Greg
