JK, God I hope you are being sarcastic here, don't you dare hit me with that kind of label. I have been an educator for longer then you have been alive, and the safety and education of little people are the most important thing I teach. I work in 3 counties to help law enforcement track down sex offenders that haven't registered like they are suppose to. And since I retired, I volenteer at the local schools when they need help with organizations, celebrations, or when a teacher needs assistence. So please, don't judge me by my threads and input on this site, you have no idea who I am, or what I'm all about, maybe someday we will meet, and we can discuss this for a while. I am leaving my home here in Springfield, Friday, the 2nd., around 1 pm. Was just wondering if anyone wants to ride up with me, we can set up a meet - up location and hit the road. Don't know if he was a member here, but a Beavercreek, Ohio man lost his life when his passenger fell off his bike from a stop light pull away. He turned to see what had happened, went left of center and hit an oncomming car. They were wearing no protective gear, at all. The pass. is in fair condition. Alcohol is suspected, but not yet confirmed to be contributer to the crash. Wow, a tragic thing, but you just have to wonder. Ride safe all, and ATGATT, please. Greg

Well I don't care what everybody else was thinking, I believed you from the get go. Hell I rounded a corner in Calif. one time, saw a Game Warden car on the side of the road but no Game warden. I rounded the next corner and right there in the road was the animal they were looking for. It was the biggest damn thing I had ever see, it stood at least 18 ft. tall with legs that were so long, I couldn't believe it. I ducked down behind my windscreen and went right under the the big male Giraffe, his penis knocked off my left mirror. It was just terrible, because his penis was torn off, and the Giraffe decided it would be best if he was put down, considering his delema. It was just tragic. You didn't mention if your friend has taken the training course offered by the State. Does he have his permit yet, and if so, he should take the class on a 1 or 2 day session. He will know after taking the class if he really wants the resposibility of owni ng and maintaining a bike. Hopefully, my points here are not necessary, but if he is just wanting to ride without any class time with experts, he is asking for trouble. And not knowing what size bike to start with, tells me he needs to do more research and training. Just trying to get him off on the right foot with these suggestions. It's a long learning curve, get it started the right way. And his first purchase before a bike should be the best gear he can afford. Period. Just my 2 cents. It's BIG BUSINESS, flat out for College Football, especially Div. 1 Here is a fact that I am sure not to many are aware of: 1 - OSU, PSU, USC, UT, WVU, U of M, ND, and a number of other Div. 1 schools, make enough money from just 1 home game, to almost pay for the entire yr., all the traveling and lodging expenses of all the other sports the University participates in. Case in point: Average OSU home game, after expenses, makes 14.2 Million. That is the average, When Miami came in last yr. it was 17 Mil. So do the math, it's all about the Money. I remember reading about this Gentleman a few yrs. ago. What can you say about what some Humans put other Humans through. I sometimes wonder how we can be called the dominent species. The list is endless with the savageness and destructive power we have developed over the yrs since we replaced what ever was dominent early on. 911 Call: 911, what is your emergency? caller: I was on my back porch, and something big and white fell from the sky opp: what do you mean, big and white thing? caller: well I have been sitting here on the back porch, drinking some beers and it just fell out of the sky. opp: how many bears have you had sir? caller: oh, maybe 5 or 6 opp: is the big white thing moving or on fire or anything like that? caller: no, it is just laying there in my back yard. opp. making police call: car 12 go to xxx dr. in worthington, possible public intoxication, possibly armed and trespassing on private property. Well.....You can guess what's coming. I am so glad i wasn't there, my Smart Ass light would have popped on quite quickly. I hit the Emergency Shut-Off on some Gas pumps a couple summers ago. I am outside a Gas / Conv. Store in southern Ohio, enjoying an enargy drink and some nuts. A local inbreed, in his Red Green 1967 Nova is at a pump, trying to figure out how get gas at a "cash only" pump. Watching him try to read the emblem was almost enough, but then him yelling from the pump for the attendent, who is inside, to turn on the pump, was also a sight to see. She can see his delema, and tells him he needs to pay first. He hangs up the hose and comes in and plops down $4 for gas. The att. turns on the pump, he walks out, pulls the hose out puts it in his car and hesitates. He then reaches into his shirt pocket and pulls out a smoke and a lighter. WTF. I am standing in front of the emerg. shut off on the outside of the shop. I just turn around and push it in. It shuts down all the pumps and the red light inside comes on at the register. The att. rushes to the window to see me standing there with my hand on the switch. she looks at me, and I point to Mr. Inbreed, all she can do is drop her head in discust. Now, for a big girl, she moved pretty well, Mr. Inbreed is getting a little upset and yells where is his gas. I yell,"I shut you down", he calls me a motherf####r, which is accurate, but not a good thing to say, outloud anyway. He is coming toward me, I guess to chat some, he didn't see the 2 HD guys, who have been watching this unfold following him. The attendent, the 2 HD guys, myself and Mr. Inbreed all meet about halfway out. I'm 6'3" 245, the Hd guys are easily 250+ and unfortunatly the att outweighed all of us, and she is pissed. Oh yea, Mr. inbreed is all of 145 lbs soaking wet. The HD guy flicks the cig. out of his mouth, the att. chest bumps him and he goes down in a lump. His eyes were the size of softballs, and I think his life flashed before his eyes. He started crying and I think he pissed his pants. Needless to say, Mr. Inbreed got the message, completed his $4 fill-up and got the Hell out of Dodge as fast as he could. We all had a great laugh, and the att. told us about this kind of thing happens a couple times a day down here. One of my funniest experiences while riding. Way to go Ben, now have a seat, reach around, with either hand and give yourself a pat on the back. Or if your arms are short, a pat on the shoulder. I said to do this sitting down, because you know that when you get older, and are a professional student, it can affect the blood flow to the older brain, and cause you to fall.
