Well it looks like it's going to be beautiful weather, so I am going to cruise on over for the show. How's it looking for everyone else? Hope I can meet up with some of you, ride safe all. Greg

Max, I did not read every page, so i don't know if this has been covered. Call the Columbus Zoo, tell them your story ans see if they would like it for their exhibits. Sorry about not reading all the threads, they can get a little off at times. Good luck. Ride safe all. Greg

Grave, Love the roads of KY. Have you ever done the Riverboat Tour KY Style? There are 10 Riverboats that run on 5 diff rivers in and around KY, a couple yrs ago a group of us did a self designed ride that killed off 1500 miles in 3 days, 5 rivers and 10 Riverbaots. An exhausting trip, but one I will never forget. Lets add another wrinkle to this this way, how many want to do an overnighter, say Sat. ride, camp overnight, and a Sun ride and return home. Or Fri / Sat same idea? I'm game for a limited Riverboat run, I'll even lay it out. We are running out of summer pretty damn quick, lets do something. Ride safe all. Greg

Nice place Flounder, how long are you renting it from the bank? I have done the ownership thing on 3 homes over the yrs., never again. I am doing the rental thing at a brand new condo complex, oh what a refief it is. No more cutting grass (2 acres), no more clearing snow and ice (180 ft driveway). No more repairs coming out of my pocket, and $1000 less a month. My wife and I still can't figure out why we waited so long. Have fun, and everyone ride safe out there. Greg

Good for you Van, I don't do the Iron Butt stuff, I think that kind of straplock on my ride time makes it to restricting. But give me a destination, a small reason to go, and decent weather, and all I need is gas money and time. I'll drop you a note the next time I'm going to St.Louis for a Rueben sandwich. Ride safe all. Greg

Just saw Ben, that is awesome. Pics, pics and more pics buddy. Now, you do know how all this happened don't you? You aren't riding enough. Say good job to the one who did the time also. Ride safe all. Greg

g, I'll ask now, just because. You say rides to Troy or Sugarcreek, are you aware at what we Sport-Touring guys frequently do in a ride? I'll give you my week last week. Last Fri.= 165 mi. , Last Sat.= 310, and last Sun was 306, and that was a slow week. I have gone to Lousville for brunch and Chicago for Pizza, this yr. So if you get some ST riders, get your Monkeybut powder and Tylenol 3 ready, you might need them. Lookin forward to seeing some ideas, lets ride, far. And please, everyone ride safe. Greg

Hydration, I will give everyone some real advice to check your hydration level. Being a diabetic, my liquid intake is crytical, an easy check is the color of your urine. If it is darker then normal, you are dehydrated. The lighter the color the better. Now I know also that in the warmer weather, you will not urinate as much, your body will use all the fluid it can, when it can. Just hydrate at every stop, water, Gatorade G2 is loaded with electrolites, very very good when low on hydration. Powerade is also very good. Absolutly no to any knid of softdrinks or alcohol. All will draw you water level down, the sugar in them pull moisture away not ad. Energy drinks will do only once, mix them with another good liquid, wate,r Gatorade, Powerade, etc. Hope this helps, ride safe all. Greg

g, I am in Springfield, but have no problem riding anywhere. I see you run a gixer, are you asking the sport bike group or are you taking all that respond, regardless of bike type ? Was just wondering, but the idea of a weekly ride is a good one. Ask the wife, I need a very small excuse to ride. Everyone ride safe out there. Greg

Well, ok, I'll give you a very well kept secret. Super Wal-Marts will let you camp behind thier stores. I know it sounds nuts, but I have to tell you, it is wonderful. They are open 24 hrs, they have groceries, they have a clean washroom, they have things you need, they have ammunition, if you carry. Just hit up the manager of the store and ask permission. And since you are behind the store, your interaction with the WM people will be limited. You have nothing to lose by asking, all they can say is no, but I have never been turned down, and I have done this in 10 diff. states. JMHO, good luck on your search. Ride safe all. Greg

Well i just got home from the ride today, logged 306.6 miles on this beautiful Sunday. It was really great meeting everyone, but please don't expect me to remember any names, like the old saying goes, my short tern memory went with my hairline, and you all saw my hairline, or didn't see it whichever. I was very glas i could help my compadray from Springfield witrh his GSXR. i always start with the easiest thing, and the battery went south for him in the middle of the ride. And Advance Auto to the rescue, even if we did have to prod the counter guy to go looking for the right one. Good roads, good eats and good riders, makes for a great ride, thanks again, and lets do it again soon. Everyone please ride safe out there. Greg P.S. DGTLgirl, your slackin on the stickers my dear.

Ben, SASE on the way, is it ok to ask for 2? I have my Connie all stickered up, and like to have one on each side of the bike. If not, no problem. Any color will do, you choose. Thank you. Ride safe all. Greg

In all my yrs of riding, I have only had 2 guys ask me: "Why do you have all that protective gear on ?" I have responded to both the same way: " Do you actually want to start a conversation with such an ignorant question ?" Neither continued with any questions. Really. ATGATT, ride safe all. Greg

Don't lie to me, it won't fly, at all. 4. If you do lie, expect a response, sometimes in public sometimes not. 5. I have riden the street for 37 yrs., been on 2 wheels for 41 though. 6. I am a first born son to a football coach, can you guess what I did for almost 18 yrs of my life? 7. If I was single, you would not see me on here, you would see me out there on the road 24/7/365. 8. I love to teach anyone that is willing to learn. 9. Kids love me, even at 6'3" and 245 lbs. they gravitate to me, everywhere. Must be the Grandpa in me. 10. If we ever get to talk in person, please understand, we have done this all before, many many times. Ride safe all. Greg

Oh Casper, If you only knew how many nights have gone by the wayside thinking about those 65 miles. I would start saving tomorrow if it looked like a good ride. But we would need to ride, not trailer, mine only sees a trailer if she is really sick, or one drives by. It was almost 10 yrs ago now, so i guess i need to start mapping out a return trip. Thanks so much for stirring the soup up again, and at bedtime no less. Oh well, ride safe all. Greg

There is a story on this one. I was 65 miles from Alaska, and a blizard hit. We were trapped in the hotel for 4 days, and ended up trailoring the bikes into more favorable weather. Hawaii and Alaska are the 2, good guess. Everyone be safe out there. Greg
