  1. I am -1 and +3 and would hit the limiter right before 4 in 2nd. If I carried any more speed "which I know I can" I would stay in third.
  2. I never get out of 5th on either of the straights, was just ready to shift when I would let out. I used 2nd gear for the carousel, and went back and forth between 3rd and 2nd for 2-4. The reason I like 2 is because it gives you alot better drive on that little short straight between 4 and 5, but then you need to be shifted back to third to go down the hill off of 7 again. I would like to try to stay in 3rd coming off the front, stay in that gear until right before turn 4 and downshift to 2nd but I fear that would upset the bike since you arent really straight up and down there. I will work on trying to carry more speed through turn 1-4 regardless. I had a crash on turn one late last year, that might have still been in my head im not sure.
  3. That does help, thanks for the post. Will give it a shot on the 28th.
  4. For 2-4 if I am in 2nd gear I would hit the limiter if I really got on it, if I stay in 3rd I dont have enough power to really pull out of turn one. I tried messing around with different things but will hopefully figure it out next time. As for 7 I never could find a good mark for turn in. Then one of the CRs told me that I was staying to tight coming out of 7 and that I should carry more speed and go wide out of 7. So that is another spot I know I need to improve. I will try to hug the inside but carry more speed and let the bike drift out next time.
  5. Yup, that was second or third session. Thanks, will keep that in mind. This was the first time I felt like I was actually braking relatively hard.
  6. By the looks of it I need to get on the throttle sooner coming out of one and carry more speed into 4. Also stay on the throttle from 5-6-7
  7. There is a video of Brandon and I dealing with I traffic.
  8. It was brought up in yesterdays meeting, the guy in the front chopped to go in the pit or because he saw the checkered flag, not sure which but it would be hard to see the flag from there. Brandon, John, Tim and I were all there yesterday and the day was ran VERY well. Everything was organized great and the weather was perfect. I think Brandon ran a new best there and I did as well (1:06.5). We were nervous about the day when they said that you were not allowed to pass control riders unless they signaled you to pass, and they had ALOT of control riders (about 4 or 5 per session). But they did awesome and every chance they could they would turn around and let you pass, they all did a really nice job with that. In the afternoon Brandon decided to bump to Advanced since you can only sign up for intermediate if you havent ridden with them before. To do so you need to speak with a control rider who will follow you and have you follow them and do some things you wouldnt normally do in an intermediate class, like pass on the inside and get real close to people. They also might try to come up your inside on a turn to see how you react. Brandon got bumped up and I went and talked to Aaron Borello who worked with me and then they moved me up after 2 sessions, I guess I didnt do close enough passing the first time out. Moving to A was a humbling experience for me, I think I passed 2 guys and got passed by 3 so it wasent to horrible but one of them was dragging their elbow on the curbing of turn 7 Overall it was a great day with alot of my family stopping out to watch since I live so close and couldnt have gone much better (other than pushing Brandons ass around all day)
  9. I drag my buddies 18ft around. Sucks to pay for gas but can split it 4 ways if going on a trip. He lets me use it for free though so whatever.
  10. hmm... I will have to see if funds/wife would allow such a trip. She is photographing a wedding that weekend so I know NYST is good to go, or Mid Ohio if everyone goes to motoseries.
  11. I will be there one of those days unless I go to NYST on the 7th and 8th.
  12. If track days are something you see yourself getting into after the first one pick up a cheap trailer. Honestly I hate loading bikes into truck beds but not worth buying a trailer if you are going to use it once.
  13. Just leave the tailgate down if its too short.
  14. What's the over under on it being a ruckus?
  15. I have been thinking about how shitty it's going to look all afternoon.
  16. So the plates just need to be yellow right? Since I didnt buy the license yet I dont have a number reserved so I might as well get them blank so I can change the number to whatever if I have to.
  17. I am wondering if I should just go ahead and get some yellow number plates just so I have them for whenever I decide to try a race out in motoseries.

    OR Decals

I ordered some in early march and completely forgot about the order until they showed up last week. So was a pleasant surprise haha.
  19. Seriously if you ever get a chance to ride 16 the whole way down do it. I cannot wait to go back one day.
  20. Doc, Jerry and myself rode down to the gap this time last year and had a blast. We took rt 16 south as far as we could and it was fantastic. Even though it rained 5 of the days that we were gone and sucked at the time it was one of those trips that looking back gave us a lot of memories. Once south of tazewell the roads get amazing, one of the best sections is called "the dragons back" http://backofthedragon.com/
  21. http://www.purvisbros.com/ Thats where I get stuff for my car at. Probably not worth the drive for you though.
  22. It makes sense, just found it interesting. I hadent seen that as a requirement before.
  23. I found it interesting that you have to have a number on your bike to do track days with them.
  24. I am signed up for Sunday, should be taking 2 bikes there.
