I've had three sets of Conti Motions. They stick very well, but they do wear pretty quickly. Most I ever got was 4-5000 miles. But for the price they're pretty decent. As for Shinkos, I use the smoke bombs religiously. Who needs twisties and gap trips when you can burn up your clutch in a parking lot in a cloud of purple smoke? That's shits tight homey!

Ah right.....I remember him. He could really sling that thing around too. I don't know if I'm seriously considering one, just was curious about them cause they're so different. I always thought they looked cool too. But I think there are too many unknowns for me to go that route. It's the same problem I'm having with Ducati's. I love how they look, but mechanically they're so different from what I've ridden till now I have a hard time committing.I guess we'll see.....

And if the X1 isn't a decent sportbike, did Buell make one?

More specifically the X1 Lightning? I'm in the market for a new bike and I have a couple that I'm very interested in. But in my search I have come across a few Buells and I'm always perplexed. Do I like them? Do I hate them? How reliable are they? So I just wondered what experiences you guys have had with them. I'm sport rider, so I'd want one that falls in that category. Is the X1 suited for that purpose? Lots of question and I have no idea what the answers are.

What color?

Man I like it alot, but damn it lbts. Harb67 has a sweet black Daytona that I love. They're pretty sweet bikes, but he's had electrical trouble with his too. Is it common for these bikes?

ZZR is identical to the 2001 ZX6r motor, from what I've heard.

Right on. My motor hasn't been rebuilt. But it hasn't needed to be. I've only had it for 8k miles of it's life, and though I ride fast.....I've never once had it to redline. I cringe when I hear guys peg their bikes off the rev limiter on Youtube. In fact with redline at 14.5k RPMs, I shift at 11 or 12 at the most when I'm really riding it. So, it looks clean and runs strong and smooth. And I feel very comfortable saying that the next guy will enjoy it just as much as I have due to the way I've maintained it.

I also maintain mine constantly. How many miles does your have? Not trying to be a dick, but that 3rd gear isn't missing from light usage....

I honestly don't know what would make him think that. We've ridden together once and I wasn't going to race him on 79 going into Heath. Later that ride he was nowhere near.....

You're crazy if you think yours has more motor than mine.

Good call. Mine is definitely the best true 600cc sport bike in that price range. I guess I'll just be patient and see what happens.

I originally had it at $2800.....just due to all of the work/ parts I've put into it. I thought I was high so I lowered what I was asking. It's not that I'm being lowballed, I'm just firm to anything below $2300/ $2200. And I've had 4 or 5 people back out because I won't go down to 2k. There are a lot of bikes at this price and I just think they feel they can get a bike at 2k or below, so they choose to do that instead of buy mine. I don't think they're appreciating all of the maintenance that's done, that they wouldn't have to do. But it's made me wonder if I'm asking too much.

Hey guys, am I asking a fair price? It seems like I have nothing but low ballers contacting me. Nobody wants to pay more than 2k, and the bike has all of the maintenance done that other bikes sold at 2k don't have. I don't know.....I think it's a fair number. So many shit heads around here. ie - At 4:30 am: "Hey man, I have a full time job and I love the bike. Will you take payments?"

Never noticed this section if the forums but I thought I'd put a little note about a nice little brewery in Buckeye Lake. it's right down the road from the original Pizza Cottage. They grew the beer on site and its pretty delicious. My favorite is their stout, but they do a good IPA and Irish Red Ale also. Very nice owner and staff and they'll let you try them all before you decide what you want. Best of all, if you buy a growler its only $8 to fill it next time. Worth the trip and right across from the lake. Give it a look see. It's on route 79 in Buckeye Lake.

Oh.....yep that's true. He had a Suzuki GS500F to trade. I thought about it but I was worried it wouldn't be fast enough for me. He ended up getting what he wanted though didn't he?

Strange your rates went up with USAA. I got out in 2005 and still find that USAA has far, far cheaper insurance than anywhere else. They contract out their motorcycle coverage to Progressive, but even that is cheaper than others. You might want to give USAA a call back to check their rates. Certainly wouldn't have had this problem with them......just due to the manner in which they do business.

I have my Kwakker on Craigslist. She runs strong. Recently had the carbs cleaned and synced for the season and she's actually running better now than any time that I've had her. I'd probably go $2200 for an OR member. Lots of maintenance already complete. It will need a set of rear brake pads though.
