  1. Nice try, but I pmd Hoblick before I started the thread.
  2. What Bubba said makes sense and I certainly wouldn't want to be an inconvenience. I'm very self sufficient, just don't have the experience to dig into it. It runs as it is, I just know it should run better. The last thing I want to do is make it so it doesn't run. Changing the clutch plates myself was very rewarding. I'd like to be able to do more. I just have a feeling a service manual won't have all those little details that a knowledgable teacher would be able to provide. When it warms up, I'd like to have it in riding condition. So.....that leaves me between a rock and a hard place. I may just truck it to you Hoblick and leave it there for you to tinker on when you have the time. Certainly wont need it any sooner than six weeks I would say. Can you give me some kind of quote for that work Ryan? I'd greatly appreciate it.
  3. Damn fellas, Nobody with a garage that wouldn't mind dropping some knowledge on me?
  4. I'd like to make this this year. If anyone is looking for someone to bunk with, let me know. Mykill, is your cabin full? Is there room for another in that one. I think I know most of you guys.
  5. Hey guys, I'm wanting to put some money into my bike to make sure she's ready for the upcoming riding season. Can't believe we're halfway through February already. I have a 97 ZX6-R that has been put through some heavy riding the past year and a half. I'm looking to have the valves adjusted. I also would like to clean and sync the carbs and really just get it running right before it gets warm. And after the general maintenance I plan to paint her. So, though I've replaced my clutch plates myself as well as some other pretty easy jobs, I've never tore into the engine. I have no idea what I'm doing. I'd pay someone to do these things and would take any suggestions on someone that could perform these jobs on it. I'd also be more than happy to have someone willing to show me what I'm doing and help me do it myself. Either one is great, but I'd prefer to learn to do it myself so I can do it in the future as well. I plan to own a motorcycle for a long time. So, let me know guys. I've had the bike for a year and a half and it's time to do some of these things that I just have no knowledge of. I can watch as many youtube videos as there are, but I need to learn by doing. And I don't want to tear into her and not be able to put it back together. Thanks fellas.
  6. I think it's a very minor incident of post traumatic stress. I mean, you have been in an accident previously that obviously caused you a large amount of stress at that time. Those feelings and sights, sounds, etc are imprinted in your mind only to come back at a later time. Maybe they were triggered by weather, a smell (smell is the sense most connected to the memory), or whatever but I'd say it was a flashback to that accident.
  7. Inbox is clear. No, an 870 with or without a slug barrel will be plenty accurate. That's what I used to have before selling it for a compound bow I no longer have.
  8. I think those are all completely valid points..... and honestly why I was asking. Sure, everything might work out fine but if not the consequences are great. I'd definitely appreciate being able to borrow your 870, and my AR is a beautiful gun and I'd be happy to leave it with you. I'll be in Columbus tomorrow for school and could pick it up then..... or we can work out a time that works for both of us. Just shoot me a PM with your phone number and we can work it out. Thanks for the offer man, I really appreciate it.
  9. That's exactly what I read about the slugs Recon. And my Dad told me back a long time ago when he cleaned it up for me that he shot a couple slugs through it and it shot high..... like strangely high. . Based on the research of the name it could have been manufactured any time between 1890-1932. Modern ammo came out around 1930 and from what I've read anything made after 1930 should be fine. So..... it's a toss up. I am normally the "better safe than sorry" type when it comes to firearms. But I'd really like to fill my freezer. I bought a license and a tag and was supposed to go hunting with my cousin's gun but it didn't work out. If anyone has a 12 or 20 gauge shotgun they'd let me borrow they could hold onto and shoot my AR15 as collateral. Either that or I'm gonna be posting a boring or explosive video to youtube. Hahaha
  10. Question for you gun guys. I have an old 20 guage single shot break open shotgun. It's was made by the bridge gun company. From online research I've found that it was manufactured by either Shapleigh or Stevens firearms and is around d 100 years old. I have fired modern shot shells through it many times and it's a damn firecracker of a squirrel gun. But I am in between deer guns this year and I'm thinking about taking it out for a couple days. So my question is: Would it be ok to shot rifled slugs through it.? Not Sabot slugs but the regular slugger type. From what I've read its ok to do this even on full choke guns as the slugs will compress and not harm the barrel. Any experience with this?
  11. I love Mid Ohio and I love Nascar. I go to the ALMS/ Indy weekend at Mid Ohio and even watch the K&N Pro Series at Columbus Motor Speedway. I will definitely be there.
  12. Not sure what you mean by not long enough. That's a 4+ hour route.
  13. Meet at KFC in Newark at Noon Mike? I'll plan to be there for anyone wanting to ride. It's the KFC on Cedar street right as you get off of 16. Cedar street is also 13.
  14. I don't mind trying to ride together since some of our routes match up. I just don't want to spend half of my ride on the cell phone organizing it or waiting for another group to meet us.......I just want to be riding. So...I say if we see each other in MCConnelsville then great. I plan to stop at the BP we always stop at. If not then that's fine too.
  15. Im flexible. Saturday could work too.
  16. Well, to be in Millersburg by 10:30 would mean we leave Newark by 9ish. That would mean people riding into Newark to meet at 8 or earlier. It's up to everyone else but I was thinking about heading South then North and meeting around here at 11 or 12 so we aren't riding in the cold. Route looking something like this: http://rideplanner.harley-davidson.com/rideplanner/share/512376
  17. Let's get one more ride in here fellas. I'm thinking Sunday because it'll be warmer. Route to be determined. Meet near Newark. Depending on route, either meet at Buckeye Lake or KFC in Newark. Who all is in?
  18. Now that's how you ride a bike http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/trending-now/robbers-motorcycles-attack-mall-store-3-1-million-195725090.html

    Dpms ar15

Yep, same here. I have one I'd sell for the right price also. Or trade on a bike....which is what I'd rather do.
  20. Any vehicle that has or needs a reverse gear isn't a motorcycle.
  21. Yeah and then they fall in love with you and next thing you know they are sitting on your front porch crying, rocking back and forth when you come out to go to work in the morning. Fast forward 3 weeks and your car and bike tires are slit and you're getting phone calls at 3am asking you if you ever really loved her. 3.4 Mill, nah I'm cool.
  22. Was that Tricolore wrecked today 1 of only 99 in the US? I ask because of this: http://motorcycles.yakaz.com/ducati-1098-tricolore-for-sale#lo=4&docid=016sfipdpvqm9m9r Same bike year isn't it? Edit: Hell.....that ad is from Springfield. If there are only 99 in the US that would mean around 2 per state. Good chance it's the same bike.
