I definitely have to be done by 4 (probably 3 actually) so you should be good.

How's it coming along? Saw this thread for the first time last week and I'm impressed with the rebuild. Wanna see how she looks finished and running.....minus the caliper bolts.
-
I'd be in if I weren't going to the Outer Banks. Will definitely make a CSBA ride this season though. Hope to see you guys in July.

Anyone is welcome guys...we all go at our own pace. We wait for the group at the intersection of the next road we take so we don't get split up. And none of us mind waiting......so there's no need to try to keep up. Ride your own ride and don't try to go faster than you are able to. The more the merrier. And I'd definitely love to see another 97 ZX6-R so tell the girl you're busy Saturday Corey. Haha

I'm thinking this for the route. 79-541-83-93-668-757-204-13 back to Newark. Here's a map: http://rideplanner.harley-davidson.com/rideplanner/road.jsp?roadId=481830&locale=en_US Don't pay attention to the text directions. They're a little off cause I didn't take the time to set the waypoints perfectly. This route has some pretty good roads in it and goes North of Newark and then South of Newark. Also 668 between 93 and Junction City is new road, smooth as can be, all new paint and twisty. Rode it last year and thought it was the best road I rode all year.

I figure we can go down South. We can leave later than 10 if that's what others would like. Just depends on what the group is thinking. I'm flexible...

After calling them once yesterday (and speaking to another surfer dude incapable of understand basic english) and being redirected to their managers voicemail (who doesn't return calls) I called in again today. I'm finding out through trial and error that of you want anything done with these guys you have to get it done over the phone and without speaking to a manager. You have to have the rep ask the manager to approve anything. So after 2 days of run around I was able to get them to approve a refund of the cost of shipping since they made the mistake. They do have cheap parts. My part was 20 bucks cheaper than Bike Bandit. But for the hassle I'd almost say it'd be worth it to go with someone else. Now I get to ride to Coshocton to pick up my fuel pump..... could be worse I guess.

Looking to ride Saturday AM probably like 10AM to 3PM ish. I leave for the Outer Banks later that day so it won't be too crazy fast and want to get back in at a decent time. Figured I'd see if any of the guys in the Central O area not going to Deals would want to hit some roads. I'll come up with a route and post later this week depending on who is interested. Post up and we'll ride.

Just wanted to give you guys a heads up. I ordered a part from Powersports Plus.com last Saturday. The part was cheaper than anywhere else so I decided to give it a go even though I normally go with Bike Bandit. So I ordered the part Next Day Air and when it hadn't updated online by Wednesday I called. They said the order had been cancelled because the shipping address was different from the billing address and the billing address didn't match the address of the card. I was confused and angry because now my part was 4 days behind schedule but I went ahead and re-ordered over the phone with the rep. He put all the info into the computer and before getting off the phone I checked it online. I noticed he had placed the billing address in Coshocton in the place of the shipping address at Buckeye Lake and I told him that. He said he would change it. So I kept checking after getting off the phone with him and it never updated to the correct address. So I called back in, waited 45 minutes and spoke with another rep. She said that yes she could see where he made the change and that it would be shipped to Millersport (where I am) and not to Coshocton (billing address). I kept checking all evening knowing they were going to send it to the wrong place because that's what it says online. I wrote 2 separate emails in the middle of the night last night because I knew they were going to send it to the wrong address and sure enough, I checked today on the Fedex tracking info and the part is being sent to Coshocton. Fucking idiots! How many times do I need to call in and tell them they are making a mistake? The card should have been declined when the address didn't match the info in the first place, at the point of sale. That put me behind. And now I have to drive to Coshocton to pick up a part that should have been here yesterday. Never order from these idiots. I spoke to every single one of them on the phone and the one that actually spoke to me like a human and not a surfer bum was the one who messed up inputting the address.

Right.....dead is not a requirement. Just that the "being" is no longer in control of themselves and has a hunger for human flesh. So far I see two news stories that fit the bill. And were everything normal........there would be none.

http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/maryland/harford/bs-md-ha-dismemberment-follow-20120531,0,4066697.story Batten down the hatches boys......gonna be a strange ride...

Yep they do.....but man, I'm looking at $800-$1000 for everything.

What dealership did you buy it from?

I grew up on a farm where a gun was a tool and part of our way of life. I was taught from a very young age that it could KILL me and that it wasn't a toy. Parents that treat firearms in the same manner as porn only encourage curiosity and interest. If you want the child to have the same respect for a firearm that one deserves, show the child what the firearm can do. Then they won't point it at themselves or a friend ever. I think they should teach kids about guns in school.....give 'em a range day.

My lappy has the Intel I5 450M with the ATi Radeon HD5870 and it plays BF3 at almost full settings. It's very fast. Based on my experience I would go with an Nvidia GPU and an Intel I5. I7 is not fast enough to be worth the increased cost and my experience with the Ati GPU hasn't been great. The Nvidia user experience is superior.

Anything for a 97 ZX6R? My guess is no...

Bought an OEM pump. 2 day air so hopefully I'll get it before next weekend. In the meantime I JB welded the seam around the fuel pump where it was leaking and it no longer leaks. Little worried about running it like that though. Bad idea or should be ok? What do you guys think?

I found a pdf of Twist of The Wrist 2 last week. Been reading it and trying to put things into practice. Pivot steering is the information I was looking for....that was a gray area in what I knew to be proper riding. Great info in that book. http://files.meetup.com/1510087/A%20Twist%20of%20the%20Wrist%20II.pdf Here's a link to the pdf. You'll need acrobat reader on your computer if you don't have it.

Damn Hutch.....that sucker is all goo now. Must have hit it pretty square. And you must have a penchant for killing small animals huh?......that's two in a month. haha

I'm finding the lowest psi available is 2-3.5. Is that going to be a problem? Will it require a carb adjustment? I'm finding in other forums people saying it runs fine but I'm not sure about it.
-
I found the wiring diagram in the service manual. Looks like it's just a positive and a ground going to the pump after the relay. If that's the case it would only make sense to buy the generic pump.....as long as it's the same psi. I think that's what I'm going to do. And it confirmed 1.6-2.3 psi. Thanks
-
That's about what I was hoping for. I found the OEM pump for $143 plus shipping. Generic pump is $50 or less. May be worth the extra hundred bucks to just get the right part, but I haven't decided. If it's as easy as just splicing a positive and negative and attaching the fuel lines then maybe that's the way to go.
-
Over $100. I've read about this on multiple forums. Problem is nobody gives any specific ways to do it as far as the electrical wiring.

I have a 97 ZX6r and the fuel pump is going bad. I have read in some places online that its possible to replace it with a generic Autozone (Mr. gasket) fuel pump as long as it's the same psi which is like 2.4 to 3.1 psi, I think. Is this possible? how is it wired.....just cut into the wiring harness that runs the fuel pump now or does it need to have another source of power? Any ideas guys?

That effin hilarious because that's the first thing I tried. It's still leaking like a sieve. I also thought about JB weld but I don't know if it's a good idea to run it like that or not. Still has duct tape on it right now hahaha
