No I know that....I go to the Indy race every year. I just mean the kind of guy that pisses on someones tent in the middle of the night and crawls in the sleeping bag with another guys wife, or falls in the fire ruining all the fun with a medic run............I'm not those kinds of guys. There are multiple kinds of drunken shenanigans. The fun drunken shenanigans, and the moron drunken shenanigans.....

I'm going at least for one day but I'll be by myself. Was thinking about camping. If someone has room at their campsite I'll split some of the cost with you. It will just be me and a tent and a dining fly if someone wants me to bring it. I'm good company haha....not a drunken shenanigans kind of guy.

I had to make this decision about 3 months ago. I was a Droid fanboy. I rooted, rommed, and flashed my Samsung Vibrant that I had with Tmobile. I loved the versatility and I loved Android. I switched to Verizon and was really having a hard time deciding whether to get the Razr or the iPhone. I decided to give the iPhone a try and because Verizon had the trial policy I figured I'd give it two weeks and decide before the trial period was over if I still wanted the Razr. It was a good decision because I love my iPhone. If you jailbreak it (which is easy) you can do almost as much as you can do on Android and the screen is many, many times better than any Android phone I have seen. I love Android and IOS but for now the iPhone is for me.....though I know that may change.

How do we know if we are on the list that ordered them? I placed a Tshirt size in a thread but I don't know if that means I ordered one.
-
Man I want the 650 but I'd have to sell mine first and by the time I did that you would have it sold. That's not the first time it's happened to me either. I need to just sell my bike and be patient and get what I want when I find it..... Ah well.....glws

I'd like to see more pics....thinking cafe...

We rode 78 from Mcconnelsville to 83 today to 146 and it was clear there. Pretty sure guys rode 83 all the way to Coshocton.
-
Great riding with you guys! I'm home and hot. Hate to say it but it was almost too hot to ride today. I'm exhausted. My pleasure with the route guys.....glad you liked the roads. And I'm glad I was able to find my way after the mistake in Somerset. Haha We'll have to do it again sometime.

I'm kind of a weather junkie. My dad was a weatherman in the Navy and was also a cop....so when I was a kid we would go storm chasing. Literally driving 80mph after a wall cloud through the densest part of the storm and hail cores. Was a lot of fun and I've been hooked ever since. When I saw the radar on Friday I knew it looked abnormal. Just like you say the curve or the center of the storm (shaped like a boomerang) was headed just north of where I was and right at Newark. And sure enough that area of Newark where the center of the "boomerang" was headed has the most amount of damage. I was standing there and it was calm and within 30 seconds trees were sideways. You could definitely hear a very low guttural sound coming from it and I also heard trees snapping in the distance about 10 seconds before it hit. Was very strange to be outside as it came in. Definitely a weather event I'll never forget. Rode from the Newark area all the way down to Mcconnelsville today and there is damage the entire way. Many, many trees uprooted, houses twisted and roofs off. It's crazy to think it's like that all the way to the coast. Derecho 2012

Yep....we're meeting in falls burg at 79 and 586 around 11:45. Come on and tag along....that's what I'm doing
-
Yeah...668 meets 16 (correction east) of Newark. That road is perfect right now though not very twisty. If you take 668 to 669 in Somerset, 669 through Crooksville to Mconnelsville is brand new and twisty for miles. Best road I've ridden this year.
-
Sounds good. I sent mine back. See you in the am.
-
Well....are you taking 16 to 668? I saw the route but thought you might want to take 79 in to get to 668 via 16. I'm thinking 79 & 586. I'll be there 11:45ish. Think that'll work?
-
I'll ride with you littlecarb. I'm still planning to go out. What's a good place to meet? If you're gonna ride 668 and Brownsville rd, how bout I meet you at KFC in Newark at noon? I'm planning on riding a medium pace to see storm damage and avoid any on the road. Should make for a fun ride.
-
Yeah....I'm not sure what to call it. Our landlord wants the image because he swears he will be able to use it to argue the damage to one of his rental properties came from a tornado to his insurance company. I don't think he'll get far with that but the pic is still cool.
-
I took this right as the storm hit. Not a tornado....but shows the strength of the wind.

Buckeye Lake, we just got our power back on. I was envisioning a 7 days without power nightmare like they are talking about in the advocate. With this heat, I feel for you guys still w/o power.

An old buddy of mine was t-boned on Hopewell and 79 in Heath yesterday. Watch out for those morons that don't want to heed traffic signals. http://www.newarkadvocate.com/article/20120629/NEWS01/206290306/Motorcyclist-driver-injured-Ohio-79-crash?odyssey=tab|topnews|text|Frontpage His mom says he broke his femur in 3 places and had surgery last night. In a lot of pain it appears....but fortunately looks like he will be ok. Any prayers his way would be appreciated.

I think I ordered one. Where can I find the list or thread of those that ordered them?
-
I'm in. Been about a month or so....I need to get out.

I worked for a towing company as a dispatcher when I was 16 or so. There are no laws that require towing companies to call the police. If the towing company gets on scene first and find the accident requires traffic control then they will call for that purpose. Local towing companies are also on a rotation within police jurisdictions to respond to accidents requiring towing and cleanup. But that's only if the police are there first.

Iron Pony. If you want a place to try on jackets and get exactly what you want, it's your only option. They also have a HUGE section of closeout jackets that are discounted by a lot. I actually saw a white leather Icon jacket there the other day, size XL that was around $250. It may be a 1 1/2 drive for you but it's worth it. You will spend more time in the store than on the road for sure. There's too much to see...

I'm not just making shit up Oh Ye Royal Judges of Valid Comments and Truth. http://thekneeslider.com/archives/2010/12/13/does-motorcycle-training-reduce-motorcycle-accidents/ http://motorcycleclub.org/ http://www.motorcycleclub.org/safety/mayhew_simpson.htm Every single article I find says there is no proof MSF courses reduce accidents and in fact they have found that in some states where MSF courses are voluntary, there is a higher likelihood of accidents of those that take the course.

I didn't know you couldn't ride on the highway with a permit. I rode a lot of highways when I had mine. They need to do a better job of disseminating the information.....I read the entire motorcycle endorsement booklet before taking the test and never saw that in there.
-
Saw a statistic that riders that take the MSF course are 40% more likely to be involved in an accident than an endorsed rider that didn't take the course. It says a couple things. 1: Taking the MSF course doesn't necessarily make you a better or safer rider. 2: Those riders that feel they need to take the MSF course (confidence?) most likely do, and also are less skilled and inherently more likely to be involved in an accident whether they take the course or not. I think the system the way it is now is sufficient, but seeing as how it is very easy to get a permit and pass the test....the penalties for riding unendorsed should be higher. It's too easy to be legal....to not be legal. Yes that means you Cookie!
