Anyone else get caught in the rain yesterday?.....
Al Z. Heimer replied to JohnnyB's topic in Daily Ride
Last year Doc,Jester and his Bud Tim and myself. Week long Gap trip. Rain...LOTS everyday but one. Rode gas and go only home from the Iron Horse lodge. Mostly slabbed it home but took Rt. 16 down thru WV. Rain sucked ass but will never forget the trip. Was a good time. -
http://www.yamaha-motor.eu/uk/products/motorcycles/mt/mt-09-sr.aspx Ok Yamaha. That was easy enough. No let's see a sport touring version.

Nighthawk 750 Tick. Worry or Ride? Recording included
Al Z. Heimer replied to Phreon's topic in Tech and Tips
Old school cheap trouble shooting .... Go to the hardware and get a 3 foot piece of 3/8" vinyl hose(it's cheap). Stick one end in your ear. Go over the engine with the other end and you will find the area of concern. Have a helper rev it and go around the header to engine area and listen for an exhaust leak. When checking for engine noise you want to want to put the hose flat as possible against the surface. Common sense here...the hose will melt on extremely hot (exhaust) areas. A stick or screw driver in the ear works for mechanical noise as well. Better yet get one of these...http://t.harborfreight.com/mechanics-stethoscope-69913.html?utm_referrer=http%253A%252F%252Fwww.google.com%252Furl%253Fsa%253Dt%2526rct%253Dj%2526q%253Dharbor%252520freight%252520stethoscope%2526source%253Dweb%2526cd%253D1%2526ved%253D0CBgQFjAA%2526url%253Dhttp%25253A%25252F%25252Fwww.harborfreight.com%25252Fmechanics-stethoscope-69913.html%2526ei%253DxsVhU97tAoWi2gX-2YCADg%2526usg%253DAFQjCNGtA-z1L9Aiot7X-sxcyX9MLsEi0w It sounds like a lifter tick to me either caused by a sticking valve or lifter that is not pumping up fully. Try running some Marvel mystery oil in your gas. It won't hurt a thing and your carb slides will love it. If the valve is sticking this stuff may help. -
https://m.denniskirk.com/tour-master/strap-mount-elite-tri-bag-tank-bag.p5000149.prd/5000149.sku I have have an older Nelson-Rigg expandable strap mount. Has served me well. If I was in the market I would like to have I look at this one. Pretty cool features. Also any bag will scratch the paint if crap gets between the two. I have used this stuff on several bikes. The present 12 years old and the tank bag goes on every ride. No scratches. I have used this stuff for the tank bag and soft luggage to protect the paint. Make patterns and cut to size. Clean the surface and stick it on. When your done pull it off and stick it back on the backing paper to use again. I get about 3 uses before I toss it. I see this is a 75' roll. What I got there was smaller. Any residue left a after removal comes right off with some spray wax. There will be very little if any. http://mobile.walmart.com/ip/Con-Tact-Clear-Covering-Multipurpose-Shelf-Liner-18-x-75-Roll-Clear-Gloss/20895773 Make sure it says removable or else you will proly pull the paint off. Just like a garage--get one bigger than you think you need. You'll fill it.

Better I don't know. Replacements can be had at O'RIELY OR ADVANCE auto parts a lot cheaper than oem at the dealer. Can't remember which one. -

In C-Bus now with Grandaughter. Hopefully can make the pony before the restaurant. Some drama. Long story. Would have been a great ride down on the bike. See you guys later. Rust colored shirt, jeans and a bald head if you see me wondering around aimlessly.

Welcome. What is your opinion of your Beemer? Not a bad looking bike.

How could I refuse you Bubbie? Been on some great rides. Thanks for not kicking me out of the club. None of my tires have came off the rim either. Your a good guy Pauly. I'll claim ya.

Let me see if I can help you on the right rider part. Don't over think it because with this simple experiment I can prove to you how much better something can be in capable hands. Okay this is what you will need--- 6 nice size nails,a hammer,a nice piece of wood. Preferably oak as this will help to better prove the point. If you are right handed start with the hammer in your right hand and hammer 3 nails home. Now take the hammer in the other hand and hammer those three home. Same wood, same hammer, same nails. Unless you are ambidextrous there was a big difference in performance and outcome.

I'm good for what ever time is decided upon.
