  1. With the battery hanging out the side? I did on the way home but that's it....the thing needs plastic and I have some on the way in "red" and "black". My Duc is going to look like an abused POS.
  2. My Duc would get me in a lot of trouble south of the border.
  3. At the rate the bodywork replacement on my Duc is going I probably won't be there.
  4. Have you looked in the Ubuntu Software Center to see if it's still active on your computer? I have Simple Scan and XSane Image Scanner on mine. The beauty of Ubuntu/Linux is how it recognizes printers and scanners w/out installing the drivers.
  5. Nice Stang. I like that old F-150, too - 351W?
  6. The cat thing is a deal breaker....she's gotta be a dog lover!
  7. And guess what.... S BUCHANON | APRIL 8, 2012 AT 7:32 AM Categories: Auto Shows, News The all-new 2012 Porsche 911 has been named the 2012 World Performance Car of the Year at the 2012 New York International Auto Show, during a press conference hosted by Bridgestone Corporation. The seventh-generation Porsche 911 was one of the 34 new-for-2012 vehicles selected for the annual awards program. The World Performance Car honor is awarded each year by an international jury panel comprised of 66 top-level automotive journalists from 25 countries around the world. The 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera is powered by a new 3.4-liter boxer 6-cylinder and generates 350-hp, while the 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S is powered by a 3.8 liter boxer making 400-hp. Both the engines are available with a seven-speed manual gearbox or the seven-speed dual-clutch Porsche-Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) automatic. Hence the Carrera sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds, while the Carrera S reaches 60 mph in 3.9 seconds. Top speed for the two new models comes in at 188 mph and 179 mph, respectively. Prices start $82,100 for the 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera and $96,400 for the 2012 911 Carrera S. “We are honored that the 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S was chosen by this distinguished group of jurors as the 2012 World Performance Car. For just the seventh time in almost 50 years the iconic 911 has been revised to the point of being a new-generation, and winning this award from a global team of world-class journalists is excellent validation for the work and dedication of everyone at Porsche,” explained Detlev von Platen, president and CEO of Porsche Cars North America. via Egm Cartech http://www.nitrobahn.com/conceptz/autoshows/2012-new-york-2012-porsche-911-named-world-performance-car-of-the-year/
  8. That sort of gives me hope but I gotta find a hot momma first and start getting busy. Finding one in her mid to late thirties (maybe early forties, Cougars are h-o-t), preferably never married, no kids, AND no psycho tendencies is proving to be a challenge. We know all of you women folk are crazy but I haven't lost all hope.
  9. This thread makes my junk hurt.....nfw will I ever get mine snipped. But, then again, at my age kid's are almost out of the question.
  10. The dandruff is now falling in Uniontown.
  11. I was in Canal Fulton earlier today and it was flippin' cold but there wasn't any snow or precip....yet.
  12. jbot, The upper is for both sides? And is it the one listed on CL?
  13. It looks like one of the fasteners failed, two of them connect the upper to the nose piece and the second one (you might be able to see where it cracked the upper) may have caused it to break away and fly off. Pure speculation on my part since all I saw was a piece of something yellow fly by my head (thought it was the fender) after I heard a popping sound. I might have found what I need off of a yellow 748S from a fellow Ducatisti who is also into Hawks.
  14. More Guinness = more fiber, right?
  15. I love the lines on your bike, too, and yep, Ducati yellow rocks! As for my 748/996 frankenstein, it's becoming a love/hate relationship but leaning more towards the love side at the moment.
  16. Well, I've got a line on a set of Sharkskins for $600 but that'll only take care of the upper/lowers on both sides + radiator cover and extra's if I put it on the track (tail, upper race nose) which still leaves the damaged right side of the OEM upper nose to deal with. The carbon bits mentioned earlier with a fiberglass mono tail is $1700....ouch.
  17. LOL, have seen how ugly a 748/916/996 is naked? It ain't a pretty sight right now with the upper/lowers off on both sides but I will be out on it "naked" until I find what I need. Not that I really gave a shit riding it with one side gone, either.
  18. Carbon fiber, yummy. I found a full set minus the rear tail piece on Ducati.ms but the guy wants to sell everything else OEM for the bike which I don't need.
  19. Bring $5k with you and you can have it - clean title plus a bunch of spare parts and tools.
  20. I had a freakish incident earlier today riding my Duc back home on I-77 N - the upper and lower fairings literally flew off of the bike after crossing the second bridge crossing just south of Portage. After assessing the damage, I need the following parts: Upper Nose right upper right lower left lower is optional due to damage where the two lowers connect at the radiator cover misc. hardware - two OEM connectors, two OEM fasteners My Duc is yellow but will settle for pretty much any color just to get something back on there to ride.
  21. Good to hear everyone made it home safely. I woke up with some really bad stomach cramps and didn't start feeling well until about 2 PM. I took the Duc out for a spin down on 212/39/542/212 after I was able to eat something just to get some fresh air and lost the right side fairing in probably the most freakish way. It flew off of the bike barely missing my head on I-77 North near the Portage exit. It is now lying in itty bitty pieces on the shoulder.....whiskey tango foxtrot.
