That works...I was up very late last night for an audit for work so I wasn't actually looking forward to getting up at 6am on Saturday anyway Let me know if there's anything I can bring ya.
-
Great, then I'll plan on leaving early Sat so probably be there 9am-ish. If that's too early (not sure what you have planned for Fri eve) let me know. I can text you as I get close.
-
@bowdog I'll take you up on your offer to come see ya if it still stands and we can hit some trails. I'll text you at your # above so you have my # and know who it is if I call/text. Then you might want to edit out your phone # in your post so the bots don't pick it up and start spamming ya. Plus @Tonik might see it and hack your phone. I booked a room at the Holiday Inn Express in Logan, OH (which isn't too far away from the Williams campground) for Saturday night. So I'll head up there Saturday but the timing depends. I don't think I'll be able to check in before early afternoon at the latest so if I get there early Sat, I'll need a place to park the Element with the Kendon trailer. Is there anywhere I can park at the campgrounds during the day without a hassle? If not, I would likely come up later on Saturday and ride some and then stay most of Sunday to do a little more riding.

Ouch...my biggest fear is seriously breaking down in BFE - especially alone. If something like the CDI takes a dump (pretty common on XRL's) there isn't a damn thing you can do but swap it out with a good one.
-
Thanks man, I just might do that! I'll let you know.
-
Good to know, thanks Tim. I more worry about someone stealing (or trying to) steal the Kendon trailer than anything. I would never leave valuables in the car and a broken window, while shitty, is repairable at a relatively low cost. It's a Honda so no high-end components to rip into although I do have a friend whose catalytic converter was stolen off of her Honda Element in the parking garage of her workplace last year! Apparently there are some relatively precious metals in there that they sell off for scrap.

Good to know. I often wonder the qualifications for "difficult" are. For me, that means very steep climbs or decents, extreme ruts on off-camber sections, and exceptionally rough terrain making picking a proper line critical.
-
Any issues with security when parking around WNF with SUV/small trailer around the southern area Dorr Loop? Not sure what parking is available but I wonder about the prevalence of break ins etc.
-
Thank you sir. I may just leave it parked at the hotel but it will probably be 15-20 mi away from the trails which could really suck if I have some sort of issue.
-
One more question...will I have issues finding a place to park my Honda Element & Kendon trailer? By issues, I mean people trying to break in and/or steal my trailer etc? Are there any recommended parking spots near the begley campground?
-
Per the other thread, Monday probably isn't going to work for me so you guys enjoy yourselves and be safe. I appreciate the offer...we'll definitely hook up another time.
-
Thanks for the info guys...Monday would be really tough for me since I'm nearly 3 hours away from the site and I have work the next morning. I know I'll be pretty damned tired and don't want to push it trying to get home that night. I really appreciate the offer though. If I wasn't covering for one of my peers next week, I'd take Tuesday off and join you. I looked up Dorr Run loop and even watched a video of it online and it definitely looks like the kind of riding I want to do so I may just drive up Friday evening. Ride Saturday in that area, get a feel for the place and maybe explore a little on Sunday before heading home unless it's getting pretty crowded. I need to look at places to stay etc. still so nothing definite yet.

So I think I may go up to Wayne this weekend on the XRL, shack up somewhere nearby and ride for a day or so. What's the best trails to hit that are skill intermediate and below? Looks like the 3 trail systems are rated as "difficult"? I don't have full knobbies on my XR so I can't tackle anything too tough and likely I'll be by myself so I don't want to get into anything too hairy alone. I'm also wary of getting creamed by ATV's coming the other way. I'm ok with riding some of the same trails multiple times...I just want to get off the damn pavement and gravel. I'm going to try to read over their website tonight for some more research but you guys have ridden it and know it well. Bmac, I have your GPX file here somewhere that I'm going to review as well.

Take your pick. The way most fulfillment operations work is they have packages staged for pickup and the boxes are all labeled and waiting pickup. Usually there is an accompanying manifest that has a comprehensive list of all the packages. Either UPS chucked it on the truck without scanning it or it wasn't labeled properly. MSS says they show the 'outgoing' scan which only really means it was staged for pickup, There should be some sort of QA balancing that at least says x number of packages scanned by UPS which matches x # of packages on the manifest. There are more comprehensive checks if they are scanning barcodes on the manifest and packages to tie them logically but that takes a lot of time. Where I've worked, UPS always scanned in their own packages and loaded the truck themselves. I'm guessing some places may have the shipper assist in the loading process to expedite the process which is where bad things can happen. BTW, I already placed the other order and it's already shipped (I got tracking at least).
-
So I called them and according to them UPS did pick it up and either lost it or misdirected it so they are opening a trace request with UPS. Turnaround time for this is 8-10 business days. If they find it, they'll ship it to me...if not, MSS will refund the purchase. I'll give it a few hours to see if it magically gets found, otherwise I'm ordering from elsewhere and will return the MSS one if it ever arrives. It pisses me off because I intentionally ordered it last week so I would have it this week for the upcoming weekend.
-
I ordered a header pipe and slip on for my XR from MSS on the morning of 6/24. Both were assigned UPS tracking #'s by EOD and the header delivered yesterday while the slip on tracking still says "ready for UPS pickup" as it has for the last few days. WTF? Only reason I ordered there is I had a points "credit" to use. I wanted to have that shit on the bike and running well (may need to re-jet) by this weekend. Fuckers.

Nice...what model CPAP do you use and how long will it last with the humidifier? I looked into batteries at some point but I recall something about needing a power conditioner/inverter/converter or something or other. I'll have to look into this. **EDIT** how do you plug your cpap into it?
-
Probably not if he's going from a straight unrestricted pipe to one with at least some restriction. The bike is running too lean.
-
I took a ride this morning but mostly pavement though I did find one very large farm field with nothing planted and all dirt so I cruised through it.
-
Hmmm...somehow I missed the actual whores. I definitely would've remembered that.
-
If they can't be off the forum for 48 hours either voluntarily or not, there's bigger issues. This isn't Casper's crack house.
-
Yeah, I need to hook up with you guys on my XRL. I'm really itching to get off the pavement and gravel. I just need a weekend with decent weather and when my wife is in town or I find someone to tend to the pups. It's a few hours away for me so I would likely end up spending the night either before or after though I'm not a camper because of my CPAP.
-
Only 30 some-odd posts in this thread? WTF...if it was a "hi I'm a new cute girl who needs help mounting my bike" thread there would already be 400+ posts...300 of which would be from MT

Contact the buyer, find out what he put as the selling price and communicate this amount back to the state. Your answers match, end of story. If you can't get a hold of him, give them a lowball price and worst case he has to pay a little more tax. If I had ever under reported the sale value in the past when buying selling, it definitely would've been done with the knowledge and consent of the other party and wouldn't be far enough away from a reasonable price to arouse suspicion. Again, if I ever did do such a thing.
