  1. I've run at Mid-Ohio 4 times this year, May being my first time on a track. Each time I ride my quads are in pain the next day from all the work. I ran yesterday and it was the first time on my 750, coming from a Busa, and I was really flying compared to previous days and the quad pain is the worst ever. Is this my noobness causing me to overwork and burn my legs out or are there things you folks do to condition your legs for this? I do a lot of powerlifting but that is for one rep, not riding all day.
  2. +1 on the Alpinestar boots at Pony. I have a pair and I love them. I wear them on street and track too. They are 10x more comfortable than any regular boot I used for riding. Rent leathers the first time and you'll get a feel of your sizing needs. It helped me be able to pick out my suit online and get it right the first time. Bike prep is important too. I always have mine prepped for the next class ahead. That's a little tip Bdbgoalie gave me that made sense. When you're running down the back straight wide open you don't want things coming loose:thumbup:
  3. There is a static and dynamic compression that can cause cylinders to have a higher compression ratio at higher RPM's. At low RPM (static) the most valve overlap happens causing pressures inside the cylinder to escape out of the open valves. As RPM's increase the amount of overlap decreases causing cylinder pressures to go up (dynamic). The more radical the cam the larger effect this will have on the dynamic compression ratio. Spark knock typically doesn't occur at low idle, but when it revs high you can pull the data and see it is knocking due to higher RPM from higher compression and the computer retards timing to compensate. So he does have some basic physics of an engine down, but he contradicts himself. He makes a point about how a ring can't seal against high engine pressure then immediately gives us an explanation on how it will seal the high engine pressure if you rip it hard. The same few pounds of spring tension remain either way and the ring will form around the cylinder either way. And if his way magically doubles spring tension to seal pressure my rings will be scrapping the hell out of my bore causing premature wear of both ring and bore. This is a fail. Factory break in and swap to synthetic after the first change has worked for me. I've used oil analysis to confirm it so I can sleep at night.
  4. I signed up for Tuesday as well. Riding in N with a gray gixxer 750.
  5. Cheech, I'm not going to argue with you, but you are incorrect. Minds are not changed online. We have done a lot of customer friendly things that we have not been mandated to do. That's why I really enjoy working their vs. other institutions I have been at. USAA is a great place too and as long as you are being taken care of that is all that counts.
  6. Credits post 1st and debits 2nd, no exceptions. Debits for now are largest to smallest. We are working on setting the debits to post chronologically though. Soon to come.
  7. Dude must have a neck like a redwood, traps like a mountain, and balls of steel. A bird hits me and I scream like a bitch.
  8. I am a GM at Huntington and we are a very easy bank to work with. I could go on and on but look up 24 hour grace and Asterisk Free checking. If I didn't work here I would still bank with Huntington. We have a host of convenience products that help you keep up with your account and we keep it free. We have put in place a philosophy of fair play banking and we stand by it.
  9. So even humidity makes her hair frizz and she gets all bitchy and throws you out of her corners.......damn I didn't know she was so high maintenance. Good info.
  10. I'm showing 10% for Monday as of 6:45 this morning. Weather channel app on my phone.
  11. I have the day off too and I want to RIDE......just not in the wet. I would happily journey to another track to ride. I've only been to Mid-Ohio though. Doesn't Nelsonville have coaches, groups, etc?
  12. Dogs are pretty special. I feel bad for you bro.
  13. Sweet! That $10 will buy 2 gallons of Gatorade and a Redbull I'll need to run in 90* heat. Thanks!!! It looks like no rain. I'll sign up Wednesday.
  14. For 4 months I'd park it in a money market or savings. You'll be lucky to get 1% but the principal is protected. BTW I'm a branch manager at a large local bank. PM me if you need anything.
  15. Pfffft sandals are for racers. They make my feet sweat so I go barefoot. My toes are like aerodynamic little torpedoes when I'm slapping the rev limiter in 2nd gear at the Walmart parking lot.
  16. I've noticed this more and more over the past few years and I don't understand. I see people leave a stoplight and drag their feet until they have to pick then up to shift. I don't see a particular group do it any more than others. Is this a preference for riders or a sign of a McSquidworth coming down the pike? To me I'd rather be in position as early as possible, except for the occasional leg stretch. I also keep my feet up as long as I can when coming to a stop. It's kind of a balance game I play for fun. Let me know folks!
  17. Strippers run out of coke money sometimes too. Could you imagine the guy giving the description to police to sketch. Uuummmm, well she was about 5'boobs and had boob colored hair and drove a late 90's boobs, with a boob hat and boob shirt with YOGA PANTS!
  18. Left to right Zeke, Grimie, and Izzy. Celebrating Izzy's 3rd BIRFDAY!

    Mj usa

MJ used to be a nice place. It has been around forever. Northland has turned into a nasty hood over the past 10-15 years and the shop has followed suit. My buddy used to ride pro MX and dealt with MJ all the time. Around 2000-2003 he got screwed by him a few times and never went back. I've heard similar stories as well. Sorry to hear about your quad man.
  20. Park it at my place. 3 American bulldogs, an arsenal, and a mal adjusted owner who's 230lbs. I promise I won't ride it either
  21. I think the main point is not that you are driving such a beast, but that your wife picked it. That's one hell of a catch good sir.
  22. Are you the couple that parks in front of garage 7 and your wife has tattoos on her back?
  23. I've got the day penciled off at work. I wanna go play with my new toy. If it doesn't rain I'm all in.
