My buddy had to wait 14 days after his bikes were stolen to get the ball rolling on getting a check from his insurance company. They specified once they cut a check, even if they were recovered, they HAD to go through an auction house for sale, and he would not have the option to buy them back. That said, they did do him fair on his KTM and he was happy with the deal. Not happy to lose his smc, but could afford to go buy another if he wants to.

Not certain for larue, but the custom shop I was looking to build me one wanted $1000 down, and balance when ready to ship. In the current madness, they upped it to $1500 up front, but their prices did not change a penny over last year. They also did not extend their wait time, as it has always been 6-8 months. I'm not ordering now though. I figure there will be so many of them that were ordered in the last month that the buyers will have lost interest by the time they come available you'll be able to buy their place in line for a discount over the deposit amount.

Care to translate that in to human numbers? I know I could look it up, but I know it also varies greatly between manufacturers.

I placed an order for .308 pmags in December that went through initially, they even billed my credit card, then the next day switched to back order. They gave me an estimated shipping date of 1/13. When that passed, I emailed them to find out the new ETA and was told when they get some, they'll send some. I told them thanks anyway and cancelled the order. Let's see how long it takes to get my money back...... I thought 9mm still popped up at the stores weekly for normal prices you just had to keep checking. Is that no longer the case?

These were suggestions put forth by someone (ATF?) for future consideration. I have heard nothing of them actually being considered at this point. That being said, if my tax return will support it, I'll be ordering up a .308 can as soon as possible.
