This. I rarely go to gun shows anyway, but you couldn't pay me to go to one in the current environment. Same goes for public ranges, and even my private gun clubs range on the weekends. Too many noobs right now.

Only 97.3% of the time.
-
Funny. I've got two ar15's and am waiting till things return to normal to add an ar10.
-
Yeah, but that gas that was bought was burned up. These thousands and thousands of ar's are still sitting in their boxes not used, and when the next thing that catches the herds fancy comes along' they will be for sale.
-
That's exactly how I see it as well. I also think the mag ban will end up not having the votes to pass, and those prices will return to normal by this summer. We've gone over the peak on the gun prices, and I expect them to fall pretty quick. Mags will do the same, but take a bit longer.

I definitely want his contact info. There is just no of the shelf holsters available for either of my sti's. .

I'll have to talk to him about making interchangeable kydex parts. Although at $40, I could just get three of them.

How much should one have saved up for Retirement?
imaposer replied to DTM Brian's topic in Daily Ride
Ah, then you haven't had one of those rethink everything periods yet. It really sucks to stuff ten to twelve thousand a year in to a retirement account only to have it worth less at the end of the year. Then do it three years in a row. That's how it went in 2000 through 2002. -

Sure, mine did over 20 last year as well. When I say averaging 7, I'm talking over the last fifteen years. I count on being retired for 30 plus years. A long outlook is needed, bit how did it do this year. -

If you generating a consistent 1.5-2% per month, you are one of the greatest money managers of all time. That's more than double what is considered a good return for any reasonably solid investment choice. I'd be happy if my 401k would consistently get above 7% a year. -

You'll need a hell of a lot more than 500k. That might be just enough to cover health insurance premiums. I've been coming up with plans to retire in 20 years since high school. Every time I look back on my plan two years after I make it, I realize how much I didn't figure in to it. Now that I'm in my mid forties, a full five years after my first planned retirement age, I'm working on a twelve year plan. I'd be willing to bet this one will get bumped back again before I get there. -
Wow! And there is no easy alternate route either. Damn.
-
Nope. The more I think about it, the happier I am. I was expecting much worse, things like an immediate EO banning imports of ammo and mags. This is a pretty good starting point as far as I'm concerned. All fluff, and pass it off to Congress.
-
Okay, call me crazy, but I don't think it's nearly as bad as I was expecting. I don't see any EO stuff that crosses the line, and the stuff he wants congress to work towards is exactly what was expected to be thier starting point. Nothing shocking as far as I'm concerned.

So many people if you want to believe it was a hoax, which I think is what the video is accusing.
-
If it's the same one I watched the other day, I saw it like this - About 90% explained away by piss poor, gotta be the first to report it, don't bother checking the facts reporting. 7% people reacting in shock do some odd stuff. 3% I'm suspicious of lying to get their air time(guy who took in the kids, woman who talked about lanzas mother as a teacher at the school. I just don't think our gov't could pull off something this large as a hoax. That's also the only reason I believe we actually made it to the moon as too many people would have to have been in on it, and someone would have cracked by now. But, looking back on the technology at the time, and how little progress we have made from there in our ability to get people in to space and lack of returning to the moon, it seems far fetched that we were able to pull it off.

Wow. Such a sad sad path we are heading down. The crazy states are in a race to see who can out do each other. I am starting to truly believe our time as one country is coming to an end. There is just too large of a difference between the desires of the opposing sides.

This is because no matter who you order the rifle from, the hold up is bolt carriers. Nobody has them and all makers get them from the same place. Lowers are shipping, uppers are mostly availible for the right price. LPKs and BCGs however are scarce. I asked GAP if they would do this a month ago, and they said no.
-
Dammit. Already out of it. $230 in what, an hour?
-
wohoo! High bidder. End it now end it now! And holy crap. I clicked on my ended auction watch list. DDM4V5's are selling for over $3k on there. I don't think I could turn down an offer like that for one of mine. I think I'm going to list one.
-
I'll be damned if I can find it now, but an hour ago I was reading an article saying the most recent poll showed 38% were for stricter gun laws, 45% were happy with them as is, and 5% wanted less restrictive laws. So yeah, just saying the majority support gun laws may be true, heck, even I support some gun laws, but thinking the majority want MORE gun laws isn't necessarily true. Edit- found it. HERE
-
Here's my new gun laws- 1. Eliminate gun free zones unless they are truly gun free. Metal detectors, armed security, full control places like court houses and airports. A cheezy sign doesn't cut it. If I can't protect myself, whoever is forcing me to leave my gun behind better as hell be able to. 2.CCW should be expected and encouraged. No permits, no state to state variances, no fingerprinting, none of that crap. You only lose this right if you commit a crime and are serving your sentence for it. 3.Guns and Ammo should be tax free. Any firearms training should be tax deductible. 4.Non gun owners over the age of 18 should be taxed $2500/yr for the extra burden they put on the government for having to protect them, something they should be doing for themselves. 5. Repeal NFA. Silencers should be encouraged, not made such a pain in the ass to get. Full autos are fun till you add up the cost per minute of the fire rate. You are only going to turn that switch a couple times before it gets old. 6. Basic firearms training should be taught in schools. Introduce them at grade 6, work up to shoot proficiency tests before graduation. Every 8th grader should know how to tear down, clean and reassemble an AR. All right. There's my starting points. I'm willing to negotiate a little with the Anti side if need be.

And how could it be prevented? Never sell a gun you have bought through an FFL. No other way to prevent it.
-
The dealer didn't do anything wrong. There is no registration like a car that the dealer should have updated. They were simply following the paper trail from the beginning. All they have to go on is which FFL the gun was sent from the manufacturer/importer to and who it was then sold to. Once they contacted him, and he told them where he traded it in, they would then go talk to that dealer and see where it was transferred to from there. This is how it works.

Have at it. If I go up there, I won't be able to leave without ordering a can for my yet to be bought .308, so I better stay away a bit longer.
