  1. Wha.....? The bike's getting fixed now, right? .
  2. Copied from the main thread... Quote: Originally Posted by jschaf Anybody got any plans for Sunday? 3. I'll be happy in a slow group. I've only been riding a year. Maybe next year I'll move up one position if I get a bigger bike and possibly some track days under my belt.
  4. My Sunday plans are to ride down again, from Newark, bringing with me anyone that didn't get to ride Saturday, and anyone that wants to ride down again on Sunday. This depends on a ride plan already being in place for Sunday, with time and location engraved in stone. .
  5. If it will hold fourteen blonde, bikini-clad sorority sisters, a half ton of orange Jello, and a midget, we may know a buyer. .
  6. Got it. Thanks. A Marathon Food Center, bottom left. A BP station, top right. .
  7. I rode the 555 last year. As I remember, 555 south of Chesterhill is the better part of that route. And, I noticed that's precisely the section of 555 that you have selected for our route. I found it to be a fun road. Good move. Keep up the good work, UP. We all appreciate it. .
  8. The 555 is not the best of high speed roads but I'm not opposed to it. This route is 156 mi, 3 hours 39 mins. I have no objections. .
  9. But, October's Dream Ride was pushed back two hours because of weather. We left Newark at 1:30 PM. Also, sunset was at 7:05 PM that day. Sunset for 4 May 2013 is 8:29 PM. That's one hour more of daylight and a departure time two hours earlier. .
  10. Do you want to know how late you can plan on riding on a future date and still make it home before dark? Try this cool website to project sunsets and sunrises for any day in the future. http://www.calendar-365.com/calendar/2012/May.html .
  11. I'm not opposed to BBQ'd ribs. Hint, hint. .
  12. I was curious as to whether or not I could find future times for sunsets in our area. I looked up 4 May 2013. That's the day for the Epic ride, of course. The sun is projected to set at 8:29 PM on that day. That gives about 20 or 30 minutes until darkness. The reason I mention this is, there was a suggestion of having dinner at a restaurant in the Logan area after Saturday's ride. I could be interested in staying down there for dinner providing the following: I can get back to Newark by dark. Another rider among us also decides to stay for dinner. No one in our group has to ride back north alone. I don't expect it to be dark before 9:00 PM unless there are a lot of clouds in the sky. If the ride ends early enough, there should be plenty of time to have a meal and get home before dark if anyone else is interested. Think about it. It might be a good chance to get better acquainted with some of the other OhioRider members. The helpful tool to help you decide how far you might ride and still get home before dark on any given day is here: http://www.calendar-365.com/calendar/2013/May.html .
  13. As long as another of the Newark group stays for dinner, no one has to ride back north alone, and I can get back to Newark by dark, I may be interested in having dinner. Do you have a place in mind? .
  14. Agreed. We even missed the restaurant stop after the ride in addition to not finishing the planned route. I didn't know there was going to be one. More communication this time will help make things run a little smoother for everyone. The Newark group will have printed route sheets for each rider with times and distances. I want to cover all bases as best I can. .
  15. If it's any help, the original posting states: What this is NOT There wont be any cook out or eating etc. Simple plain hand shakes chit chat, drink some water, munch on a cereal bar and off we go to ride together. Other helpful info: How does it work? The equation is simple, ohio riders from different parts like SW , NEO etc organize group rides and ride out to a common location in central ohio. Here we have a brief meet and greet. Re organize our self and does a short loop together before we split off. Route: Will be a Loop of about 100 miles around Hocking hills area Doc posted this. You might want to discuss it with him considering there is already talk about a meet place in Logan. >> Planning to have meet spot close to I70 to make it easier on a lot of peeps A lot of the wording is from last October's ride. Page one of this thread tells you more of what you are wondering. . .
  16. I like that idea. Suggestions? I like that idea too. Details? Let's not forget we need a meet up time and a location for the 2nd day as well. Some who can not make it on Saturday may wish to ride on Sunday and they will need info. The clock is ticking. .
  17. I'm not making the ride this Saturday. It's a work day for me. I do want to ride the Epic route as soon as it's on the map just to check it out. I wouldn't mind some company. I rode last October's Dream Ride route alone last year before the event. .
  18. I believe the precise wording was something closer to, "...and he doesn't ride unless it's 75 degrees." It's a work day for me. I can't show up earlier than 4 PM and that is pushing it a bit. I wish I could make it.
