  2. well I might have come accross a car that I might consider a daily driver.

Its an 2000 acura integra gs-r. It seems like a pretty good car that will save me alot at the pump but one concern is that it has 108,000 miles on it. what kind of price would these go for with that kind of mileage but the car is in good overall condition. Also, are these cars pretty nice and reliable? What should I check or worry about with this car at that high of mileage? Hope you guys can help me out.

    thanks,

    Paul

    Excellent

    $6,565

    Good

    $6,010

    Fair

    $5,265

According to kbb.com. I would say if it is in good condition and in that price range it would be a good option. Do the timing belt and w/p asap. (As said above.) Then I would start doing things to it that will give you slight power but more mpg increases. Underdrive pulleys, intake manifold, Hondata, intake, exhaust. I LOVE my Type R. It should run mid-14's according to all the review magazines. I am still able to get 30mpg driving it like I stole it. It is a great comprimise for someone like myself that can't afford a reliable dd and a fast toy.

  3. Congrats thats pretty fricken awesome!

Thank You. Like I said I was VERY happy with what Eric was able to do with the car. Now I just need my tax return so I can play with the budget racers on here. Hoping to have something that is in the 20-12 club (20+ mpg, -12.99 1/4).

  4. I shipped one from Nevada and I found a shipping company that shipped all kinds of things. It came on a Semi with a big CAT tractor leaving just enough for the car on the back. It was like $550 about 4 yrs ago.
  5. BTW; what shows did CSI kill when it was just a huge ratings juggernaut like American Idol is now?

I believe that was one of the causes of "Drive" (IIRC that is what it was called) being cancelled. It was the show where everyone was entered in a cross country race. Most of them were put in the race using some type of black mail and told the problem would be solved if they won the race. It only lasted 3-4weeks. Just enough time to get into the show.

  6. sweet. tell me where i can find one of those. sadly, i think i may have bought the last new mustang i will ever own. there will be a notch in my future, but that's it as far as mustangs go, unless they do something special. the GT500 is nice, but not enough for the price.

They have a NICE P-51A package, puts out 532HP. For the price, as with all Roush kits, I am sure you could do more for less. ($33k). Kreiger had a real nice 427R (435HP) that was supposedly being trade in and was going to go for $30k. My father was looking into buying it but, they never told him if it got traded in or not. He ended up getting a low milage used Lime Green '05 from Keim.

  7. gay. i saw a silver stage 1 roush at sunocco in hilliard, while i was filling up my '04 yesterday. i wasn't too impressed, looks like a lot of show, and no go--he got into it as he left--sounded like a regular '08 with exhaust. i'm not a big fan of badges all over the car, and body kits/wings/etc.

That is all a Stage 1 is. I agree that I do not like the Roush Stage kits. It is $10K for a Stage 1 kit and the exhaust doesn't even add any power. It is still rated at 300hp.

  8. what the hell is a violator compact?

Best I can tell from what I googled it is a agreement between states to report tickets, suspensions, etc. to the "home" state specifically in the case of people not taking care of the offense by the specified date. I would assume he recieved a ticket out of state and they sent a letter to Ohio asking them to suspend his lisence.

  9. If you read a little further through the responses he says "I bought the car back in May. I worked on it as and when I could (when it wasn't raining), usually on Saturday afternoons and Sundays plus the odd evening. I havn't actually kept a count of the total hours spent." The post was made 9/9. Weekends and evenings for 4 months!!! Classic OCD if you ask me.
  10. As far as I'm concerned, as long as I talk it over with the seller, and we are agreed on the price put on the title, then the IRS cannot do a thing about it. All they can do is ask both parties what the price was. If both parties say the price on the title, then case closed. You guys must have a big red asterisk next to your SS# in the IRS system or something to be questioned that hard, haha. The IRS can go F themselves if they think they can tell me what price I can or cannot sell/buy a car for.

I think the biggest flag was the fact that he payed $9k for it and then signed it over to her 2 yrs later for $0.

  11. Had my Type R dyno tuned by Eric at IPS. Did a great job. Picked up an additional 10hp since I had it dynoed at SloMo last summer. Added a digital ignition, larger injectors and a fuel programmer. Pretty much just optimized existing systems. Was very happy with the power he was able to get out of it. Thanks again Brandon and Eric.
  12. It throws a Baro sensor light constantly now. The Neo is changing the accurate MAP sensor reading from 2.7v to 1.8v. I need to find out how to have the Neo output 2.7v so when I start the car it will check the Baro against the MAP and okay it.
