  1. Q: I have finished installing my VAFC but whenever I drive my car around, the Check Engine light comes on.

A: 1. Make sure that the VTM signal wire has been connected. This wire must be conected on all US spec Honda's. Please refer to the Documentation section of this website. 2. If the settings on the VAFC under wide and narrow throttle have been set beyond +12~14% at any point, it will cause the ECU to believe that the car is under boost. This will trigger the MAP sensor error. 3. Make sure that the pressure sensor type is set to 6 IN and 6 OUT. This can be adjusted on the Sensor Type menu of the unit.

That is from the Apexi website in the FAQ section.

I keep getting Barometric sensor and Map sensor codes. I am having IPS dyno tune it in the morning so hopefully that will help.

I checked 2 and 3 already so that just leaves the VTM wire???

  2. and put the full price that was paid. no need to get an audit on yourself.

    +1

My girlfriend's step-father got a car in his name but, she made the payments on it. When it was payed off he signed it over to her. The sale price was listed on the title as $0 which it legitamly was. The next year she got a letter from the tax department saying she had to prove it. (last names being different didn't help) We got it all straightened out, or so we thought. One year later same problem. Again, go to Columbus IRS office and get it straightened out. Over the next year he got cancer and past away. Then we got another letter about the car. We went down to the tax office again with a copy of last year's paper work and a copy of the obituary. Luckily, we got the same tax agent and she remembered us so it sped it along. That was the last we heard about it. Three years hassle just for a questionable sale price.

Cliff Notes: ALWAYS list the real price sold for on a title.

  3. Sears

+1 Look for one of their outlet stores or their outlets online. I got an aluminum 3 ton "racing" (lightweight, low profile for low cars, one pump to frame) jack and 2 jack stands for $50. (Normally $129)

  4. That's what I was going to say. With Ford you can do that, but I don't think you can with GM.

I don't know what the spec is for your O2 sensor. Call a dealer. They can probably tell you. I'd check both, but most importantly the front. Disconnect it, pull it from the exhaust, and test it. I'm pretty sure there are only two wires.

I think it should have 4 wires. 2 for the heater and 2 for the input/output on the sensor.

  5. My company gave me this TV for a prize.

    Question

I'm using DVI-HDMI connection from PC to TV and want to use a better resolution than 1216x684. Its the best resolution that I can get to work without any flicker. Is that it or am I doing something wrong (wouldn't be the first time?)

At the TV's advertised res of 1366x768 it also flickers badly. The only things that seem to flicker are horizontal lines such as those used as seperators on this forum and some fonts. Images look perfect at 1816x1024 but I get a damned flicker and some fonts become hard to read. Any ideas?

I'm sure this ain't a good TV, but it was free from work.

Also if someone happens to know where the "advertised" VGA input is please let me know because short of opening the case I can't find any.

    Evan

Pg. 12 of the Owner's Manual shows the VGA In is just to the right of the HDMI In. http://www.elementelectronics.com/Manuals/FLX-3211B_manual.pdf

Pg. 33 shows how to set the video settings. It says there is an Auto setting for the VGA is this set to Auto?

    Hope that helps.

  6. I am installing a Apexi Neo on a 2000 Acura Integra Type R B18C5. I am trying to figure out where to hook up the VTM wire (Light Green). Everything else is hooked up. I didn't see a VTM wire listed on the ECU pinout however, I do not know if there is a different name for it. I assume it is something like VTEC Management? VTEC Timing Management? It says some cars don't have a VTM but, according to Apexi's website, all USDM Honda's have one.
  7. supposedly the dealership just put new plugs and wires on it, I'm going to pull it in the garage and look at it tonight. Going to clean the MAF either way, fuel filter and see what happens, already have a set of plugs and wires at the house. Not too worried about the missfire, just not sure about this pressure solenoid.

Quite possible they did not get a wire seated properly or they cracked a plug putting it in. When I get home I will check my MODIS and see if the troubleshooting has any hints about the P1830 code.

If you look at 0:24 you can see the plane sliding past the cargo plane in the foreground. I was undecided about it being a photochop until I saw this video. The image is supposedly taken by Getty Images. After seeing that video it is easy to imagine a photographer further to the right in the crowd with a good lens and pure luck on timing could have caught that image. Still not concrete but, definatly makes me more likely to believe it is real.

  9. I agree and don't forget to add, that it needs to be able to recharge the full battery in less than 10 minutes. I know I don't take that long of trips everyday, but when I am on vacation I do. If everyone switches to these, you will have to have a regular fuel vehicle if you plan on driving out of state. I don't want to set at a recharge station for 3.5 hours while my car recharges and I can continue my vacation/trip.

I agree that it is not the best option for long distance traveling. As a DD though this would be a great car. In California there are TONS of extra reasons to have it. Everything from checks form local governments, use of HOV lanes with single occupants, free parking at meters, ZEV (zero emission vehicle) parking only spots that include recharging staions, etc. If it catches on I wouldn't be surprised to see these spread.

  10. Atom of usa does not use the K20. they are currently using the ecotec.

    Ariel Atom US

The Atom 3 has the option of a Ecotec or a K20.

  11. with what a effective driving range of 120 miles.

no thanks. Don't get me wrong the Idea of a electric car is great idea but until the can produce one that can go 300+ miles on a single charge its pointless IMO.

In all honesty how often do you travel 300+ miles in one day. I know there are some people that do it but not many. It takes 3.5hrs to charge it from totally dead. I plug my cell phone in every night or every other night, I would be more then willing to do the same with my car if it meant I didn't have to pay for gas and support oil companies/kill my wallet.

  12. Atom of usa does not use the K20. they are currently using the ecotec.

Fine change my previous statment to ANY GAS ENGINE vehicle, hybrid, ecotec, k20, or a good old american V8 I don't care the concept of a well performing electric car and what it may inspire other companies to do is very interesting.

  13. atom > tesla roadster.

    /thread.

What does a k20 have to do with an all electric car? That is like saying Civic>Tesla. The whole point of the Tesla is it is not a hybrid, it is all electric. Yet, at the same time it can still perform. Not to mention you can drive it to the store, get groceries and not only have a car still in the parking lot but a place to put them on the ride home. Personally, I can't wait to see the 2010 sedan that they are predicting at $50k-$70k. They also plan to have a $30k version available in 2012. 0-60mph in 4 seconds and it's average operating cost is $0.01 per mile.

  14. What is going to be your fastest time? Mine will be at most as i sit, a low 14 second pass.

That is what I am shooting for!! Maybe we can run heads up.

I got to ask my boss if I can get the day off.

I'll challange both of you for the slow spot on the totem pole. I should be running mid 14's.

On a side note, you wont need a helmet.

    Me either! :woowoo:

  15. It's not that anyone cares what car they give you, he just wants to know the catch. The catch is you think buy one get one as in I buy an apple I get an apple. This is more like buy an apple get a crab apple. I agree though great deal if you need 2 cars. (looking at replacing current car and have a teen getting their license would be a perfect deal.
  16. Alot of the guy's on here do side jobs and that is a good place to start. Other then that besides getting a couple estimates and comparing them and knowing what you are looking at I don't know any place to recommend. If you/your sister are near Marysville pm and I can take a look at it.
