  1. I wouldn't do that unless you're positive the filter can keep up with max fuel flow - they often increase problems at higher revs.
  2. Another VStar 1100 here, with windshield and lowers, engine guard, mustang seat, fat grips and pullback risers. VERY comfy on country and highway roads.
  3. These shortages are ridiculous. Stop stockpiling, people!
  4. Yep! The 650 is a very fine size especially in a twin or triple. Enough grunt down low to get you moving while not over-revving at sane (and I do emphasize sane) highway speeds. Heck, in a four-banger it'll go like a demon when sport-tuned - I dare anyone to call a Zixer lazy. I had a Suzuki S40 650 single, and it did everything I wanted it to do in the city and country when I rode one-up. The highway, however, was scary on it. Not because it couldn't keep up, but because it was too light (under 400 lbs) and my windscreen didn't help with being pushed around on windy days or around trucks. I upgraded to a much heavier (630 lb) VStar 1100, and while I love it especially for 2-up riding, it doesn't have twice the power of a 650. It does have a ton of comfort, but that's another story. Sounds like you're enjoying your Versys - that's all that matters. And you're riding it.
  5. LOL you realize that lobby groups ARE political operatives, right?!
  6. Wish I wasn't travel restricted - sounds cool.
  7. Wait for it... Here it comes... "You'd be better off upgrading to Ubuntu!" ;-) Somebody had to say it...
  8. (Of course if you're talking about a health emergency, that's a wholu different matter - do what ya gotta do)
  9. IMHO borrowing money to pay for a hobby is an awful idea. And even though it sounds like you're paying interest to yourself, you're removing that money's productivity and tax advantage. Don't do it. Save up the cash first.
  10. Great to hear Eric - looking forward to your opening!
  11. I'm 'thused! I'd think that if ever there was a time to open another range, now is it.
  12. Like The Powder Room back in the day...? ;-/
  13. Bummer, but fantastic we're getting another range. Hope these guys are normal folks, customer-oriented, have a clean facility and price it reasonably. Every time I hear someone complain about some range they refuse to return to, those items are top on the list!
  14. Fun! Enjoy the lessons and get a set of DVDs if you can. I like the Sporty's series better than King but I've used both. I also REALLY likes Rod Machado's private pilot workbook.
  15. The area definitely needs another range - sometimes it feels like trendy nightclubs to get a lane on the weekends. If only I were better looking, wore more expensive clothes, had a couple hot girls with me and knew P Diddy I might move up in the line...
  16. I earned my private pilot, airplane single-engine land (PPASEL) certificate in 2003 and have enjoyed a couple hundred hours in 2-seat and 4-seat Cessnas, Pipers Diamonds and a few others. It's a expensive hobby, but lots of fun and incredibly rewarding. There are a dozen great destinations just an hour or so away (Put-In-Bay, Burke Lakefront, Sandusky, Urbana, Morgantown, Lunken/Cincinnati...). Don't get freaked out about ultralights or homebuilt airplanes if you are willing to get on a motorcycle - you're already comfortable with the risk profile. Where a you thinking about training out of?
  17. Is this the Internet? Way too many sensible calculations going on for me to be sure...
