  1. I have a Russell day long, and it is really comfortable. As Tim stayed above, Baldwin makes a really nice seat. Corbin and Sargents are also popular options. Another option is to modify your seat. A popular option is Spencers: www.greatdaytoride.com.

Seats can be a contentious issue. What is comfortable for one person is not for someone else. Good luck!

  2. If you are going in March, it may be wise to invest in some heated gloves (maybe even heated socks). Wearing the bulky winter suit is probably your best option. Getting cold on a long distance MC trip can not only be miserable, it can be very dangerous. Prolonged coldness while riding can make errors in judgment more common.

A good windshield is also really beneficial on long trips. Also think about hydration. Although that won't be quite as critical in March, make sure to drink some water at every stop.

There is definitely some good riding down there. Good luck with the trip.

  3. Ive camped on and off my whole life, i have most of the gear one would need, i was a eagle scout back in the day too. But ive never felt the urge to pack up the bike and hit the road. When I'm on a bike trip I do a lot of miles in a day(usually) and id rather have a hot bath and warm dry place to sleep to be ready and rested for the next day.

Now ill pack up the gear and head to Wayne or into the woods in SEO for some hiking and fishing a couple times a year, we used to go down to the strip mines all the time.

I think a OR weekend at Williams would be awesome. Some can ride the dirt roads on their dual sports, the bubbys can hit the trails and others can hit the kick ass twisties down there.

    I'm in
