Pretty much, I don't like working on 1 ton trucks, really don't picture myself wanting to work on even bigger shit. Of course my body is beat up enough, I wouldn't consider it anyway.

Sad thing about trying to be a tech. Lots of young guys don't last, they don't make much money, they have to buy tools on a lmited income, and they are the lowest one on the totem pole. Once you get good, higher up in the pecking order, you typically have most of the tools you need everyday (there's always tools to buy, but that's not my point) the job can be very profitable. It's just a tough industry, work has been pretty slow everywhere, and it's not an easy career path in any aspect. If you want to make a career change now is certainly the time to do it. I have more then I want to add up invested in tools, my back is fucked up, and I had to take a pretty sizable pay cut to go do something else. At this point most entry level jobs are going to get you about the same pay as you get now. Figure out what you want to do and work towards it. Being a tech isn't all bad if you stick with it, just take care of your body and be smart about getting training and certifications. Doing something else will be hard to, nothing in life worth doing is easy.

I was watching it the other day, not sure how new it was but I think they've been doing it for a couple days, anyways I saw a Big 3 Racing build Lincoln Mark 8 with a blower making like 800rwhp. It was kind of cool. Looks like I missed the big stuff today.

The products GM would have us use get sucked in through a vacuum line, or you'd pull the intake and soak it depending on how bad it was.

Personally I think if manufacturers did a better job with the PCV system it would be much less of an issue. Of course all I'm really familiar with is GM, their position seems to be that it's going to happen so as a tech we have a ton of bullitens about putting chemicals into the intake to clean it up. Take the 1LE Camaro for example they actually used a catch can, although not direct injected they know PCV is an issue. I never thought about Toyota's direct/port injection hybrid system as having benefits of both. Makes lots of sense and aids in cleaning.

I've just come to the conclusion that work sucks, you try to find the best possible thing to tolerate but in the end it isn't any fun. If you want challenging automotive work you need to work in a dealership, some may not agree with me but how many times have you heard people who either "don't have the equipment" or they just "don't know". The dealership is the end all be all of problem solving, because if you can't fix it you'll be working with an engineer from whatever manufacturer. I worked hard into the automotive field and that's where I was, fixing infotainment systems, transmissions, deisels, and any other random shit nobody could figure out. You are nowhere near the top of what it is to be an automotive technician. That said if you want to do something else, I get that. Personally if I was in your shoes and thought I could follow through getting a degree in something, that is exactly what I would do. For me personally I don't have it in me, besides my wife is going down that path so her student loans are enough for our household, but enough about me. Outside of getting a collage degree, you choices will be many of the jobs that I have tried and didn't like. I graduated from the career center when I graduated from high school. A 2 year certificate in electrical technology, you know what I did until I was about your age? Worked construction, putting up lights, running conduit, running wire, building service entrance, digging ditches, and all I learned was how much it sucked. I tried some call center work before, with Medicare, and debt collecting, those sucked pretty bad. Then I tried warehouse work, pretty shitty. By the time I was 24-25 I started working on cars full time, and worked up to where I was. Just about as far as most people go with it. My point is this, invest some time and effort into an education, make yourself valuable. Engineering sounds like a decent option, or some kind of science, because if you don't you'll turn out like me. A tired middle aged loser with a fucked up back whose only saving grace is his hardworking wife covering his ass.

If that doesn't work see what adjustments are on the opener. I had to increase the strength on my Grandma's just a little bit once it got cold, pretty simple, and it works just fine now.

Most "storage lifts" aren't going to have rolling jacks in the middle. The type of 4 post lift that gets used in most shops that would have a rolling jack might be cost prohibitive. I would suggest to keep looking and figure out what compromises you want to make.

Never heard of anyone renting one. Keep in mind even if someone does a Corvette doesn't fit on many trailers unless it's designed for low cars.

:lolguy: Every Impala after 96 has no business being called SS. The LS4 was a joke, oil burning, piston ring eating crap, linked to a V6 trans that couldn't hold the torque. Even when it was running good it would torque steer like a bitch. My 3.6 Impala even torque steers pretty good, at least it doesn't eat transmissions like an SS. Short of Cadillac, and Corvette, GM's cars are all lacking an appeal to most enthusiasts. I love GM and for someone like me who can't afford new Cadillacs or Corvettes I just buy the cool older stuff because there is nothing exciting under $30k.
