  1. and I hadn't made up my mind when it broke, it's not like it cost me anything to sit on it until I decided to buy a new car.
  2. Trans shifts fine, changed the fluid when I did the clutch.
  3. Using HPtuners just to copy and paste files is a waste of money, learn to tune it properly and it won't matter what you start with.
  4. So I need to get rid of my old beater, so before I send it to scrap I figured I'd see if anyone wanted it. I was daily driving it until it blew out the rear brake line (fronts have been replaced), I'm just tired of fixing it. The gas tank leaks, and it is rusty, but fix the brake line and I'm sure you could drive it a couple years. The cylinder head has been redone to fix a blown head gasket, the shocks are newer, the brakes are in good shape (aside from the line), I put a new clutch in it when I got it a few years ago, a new alternator, starter, and I'm sure I'm forgetting something. I'll even throw in the radio mounting kit if someone wants it. No I'm not posting pics, it's what I say it is, an old beater that could be used a bit longer before it's junked. I just want it out of my driveway, and I'm going to junk it if nobody shows interest. I'm also not working on it, at all period so don't offer to pay me to fix it before I sell it to you, if I wanted to work on it I would keep it. You take it away after you pay me. Send me a PM I'm on CR throughout the day.
  5. Put a fuel pressure gauge on it and get it to fuck up. Not every dying fuel pump acts quite the same, besides the regulator could be sticking open, so eliminate fueling. DBW just goes into limp mode and isn't going to make the engine do all kinds of shit, so stop thinking about that for now. It could be the crank sensor however those typically get hot and stop working, not usually firing right back up, it could be but doubtful. If it isn't fueling it's probably wiring.
  6. I'm not positive on the crank marks on a Honda, but given the codes and pictures I'd be lining that up and trying again. All signs point to the crank jumped a tooth or so.
  7. Nice story, car guys typically stick together and it makes being a car guy that much better.
  8. Let's get drunk this weekend, lol.
  9. So Trans Am with a 3.8 doesn't exist, you mean Firebird? Because the fascia would be different. Cleveland Pick a part has an ebay store, they part out lots of these. There is also a guy over in dayton that parts these out too, he usually has an ad or two on Craigslist.
  10. The name doesn't imply that they were really meant for that application. I would just get OE replacements and make the system work as designed if you want it to ride like it should.
  11. Yeah different engine then the older LNF, I really like it and would consider it. Should drive really well. I've been paying attention to them myself.
  12. I've seen that issue in every year of the last couple body styles, it's bound to happen sooner or later. You can get the stepper motors that go bad online and soldier them in, I've never done that though, the dealer just makes you buy the whole thing. Personally I think they are all pretty good, just need to find one that had maintenance done and isn't rusty underneath.
  13. I just have to say that it's cool that Clay can find something he likes in every freakin car out there. That said, I'm not that way, so no I wouldn't waste my time on something like that if it wasn't really cool to me.
  14. Happy to get it done for you, nice to have someone to talk to while I work.
  15. I know we are not the cheapest, but we normally do it for $20 a tire. We have time this afternoon if you want to come to Lash.
  16. No way I would try putting one of those in with a hammer. Check your tires, rotate them if you're not sure to see if the noise changes. If you need an experienced ear to tell if it's a wheel bearing or not it doesn't hurt to ask, it only takes a few minutes. If you don't do stuff like this all the time it can be easy to waste money replacing things you don't need and i hate seeing people do that.
  17. I understand that you are not originally from Columbus, so moving isn't as big a deal for you as it would be for me. However if this doesn't work out is there other opportunities in that area? Besides, you are doing well with the house mortgage situation, I'm not sure I'd want to fuck with that. I don't want you to move, but if you think it's a better opportunity I get it. Just have an extra bedroom so I can visit.
  18. Just because the wheel bearings are tight doesn't mean that they are quiet. Pretty common source of noise the way you described it.
  19. I had to watch Crystal, the dalamtion I grew up with, go through similar and it just sucks being so helpless. I can't imagine when Kaito gets older, I've only had him a year but we are so close. Stay strong, enjoy whats left, I'm sure Lola doesn't want you to be sad either.
  20. I've had Resch's and the place is awesome, and sadly about the only thing worth talking about on the east side. I'll have to try these others you guys are talking about.
  21. Too easy to get an actual tune, besides the price difference isn't that much. With a custom tune you know exactly where everything is so you know it's safe. Random bullshit that worked on someone elses car may not work on yours and is just a poor idea.
