  1. Seriously, thoughts on how to handle this? Looks like they got my info.
  2. Hahaha Jim, you can take my 675 out for a ride next time we get together.
  3. Sounds like you've got some experience! I'll send Tonya an email about the rules book and if she doesn't get back, I'll let you know. 128 in a stock Bonneville!? Nice job! When I have questions, hope you don't mind if I bug you...
  4. I guess what ideas I'm looking for are related to starting motors or frames. I know aero will matter, but if we can't build a motor that will handle more power, it won't matter. A turbo is a good idea. Ya think a zx6 is a decent motor?
  5. So my neighbor is a mechanic and likes to go fast. He wants to build a bike to get a record at the Ohio Mile race and I want to ride it. We are looking to build a bike 350-650cc. This is just a flat out top speed thing, no corners, don't need a good reaction time etc, just get up to speed and hang on. There really aren't any limits on what can be done, they'll put us in a class no matter what mods. My question would be, does anyone have a suggestion for a bike to start with or things to stay away from? This is a fun project, don't want to spend zillions, but we all know how racing anything goes... He likes the idea of an older bike, single or twin. I don't care.
  6. Yeah, I plan to be there. Also the 11th.
  7. I had a great day. With the bike running well, I was able to get into the 1:46 range. That was a 9 second improvement over last time out. If that progress can be expected every time (and I think it can) I'll be knocking on 37s soon. Regardless, it was a thrill to be WOT in 6th banging off the limiter around the kink. Weeee!!!
  8. Oh nothing new, I just couldn't get it back together! Haha
  9. Awesome day, couldn't have asked for anything more. I'll give a better review in a bit, but first have to give a shout out to my track day savior, @motocat12, for solving my clutch issue at a moment's notice. Dude kicks ass.
  10. Holy shit. Garage 14 is where the party's at. Can't wait!!
  11. Well as usual, @Tonik is right. It was a steel plate spline alignment issue that @motocat12 caught right off the bat. I'm back in business and ready to finish prepping this thing. OR rocks! Thank for the help!
  12. Had to take the the inner drum out and all the friction/steel plates. The pull rod does not rely on their location. It seats directly in the pressure plate and could be there with no friction/steel plates at all.
  13. How could a plate be in upside down? The issue from last time is fixed once I get this cover back on.
  14. clutch basket came out, pretty sure it's all aligned properly. I have a service manual for the previous gen Daytona and it's pretty much the same. Love another set of eyes... I'll send you a PM.
  15. I had to replace a part inside the Daytona and now I am having major issues getting the cover back on. Found this: http://www.triumphrat.net/street-triple-forum/233024-clutch-cover-installation.html on a Triumph forum and following that procedure it seems like I'm still missing the clutch pull rod with the arm. Any hints?!?!?! I'm about to say fuck it and start prepping Izzy for the track tomorrow.
  16. I have wire and pliers. We can do it tomorrow, takes no time if you have all your holes drilled.
  17. Post this as a new thread in the Events section of the board for better visibility. Also, welcome!
  18. New part comes today. Pivot plate on the clutch is the issue. Then it's go time come Monday!
  19. @Limitedslip7, Garage 14. @what @Tonik @DerekClouser
  20. My buddy took his satilight radio having, seats nicer than my car, BMW K1600 out. Just sayin. Hope to see ya sometime Monday!
