  1. If someone is serious, they'll be willing to call you or let you call them.
  2. Work is always more enjoyable when it involves working with motorcycle stuff. Spent all morning making advertisements for dealerships.
  3. Yeah I've been texting him and his wife said they need MRI to check for nerve damage and if he needs surgery.
  4. The place I plan on renting from uses FX bikes, so that is also on my list of bikes.
  5. Thanks for the advice guys. Some of the guys I work with told me to stay away from a FS bike for just gravel stuff, they mentioned the weight and loss of energy, so I knew that going in. The Trek DS3 did mention lockout capability for the fork. The differences in DS1, DS2, DS3 & DS4 has alot between different gearing stuff, which I have no clue on. DS3 & DS4 had tubeless capable hubs. I don't think I wanna get into that price bracket though, especially for a first bike.
  6. Invest in one of these... https://www.motionpro.com/product/08-0397
  7. So, since I have been exercising, and the weather is getting nicer, I have considered getting a bicycle. I haven't rode a bicycle since junior high, other than the stationary bike in the gym. People I work with go on trips after work and it has my interest. Mainly paved or gravel trails. I am close to Specialized, Giant, and Trek dealers. I plan to go rent a bike one day to see if I really want to spend money on a bike. Right now the Trek DS1 has my attention since it is less than $600 and has disc brakes, but who knows what I will like until I go try some. Anyone have any tips or suggestions on what to do or look for?
  8. I'll probably be around Sunday. Not venturing too far away, due to a rear tire nearing end of life.
  9. +1 on this. Situational awareness is key. Many accidents can be avoided with this logic.
  10. The Ramble is always a good time, I hope you can make it down.
  11. I like my mesh jacket on hot days (Rev'it Airwave). I recently upgraded to a mesh riding pant (Tourmaster Venture Air) that I can wear shorts underneath and stay cool. I know the mesh isn't the safest but it's better than no gear. I prefer a vented leather glove (Held Rodney) and boots at all times. I wear a lace up hiking boot to work when commuting, and zip up touring boot when out riding (TCX X-Five).
  12. Rode the bike to work, probably gonna hit some twisties on the way home.
  13. Well, I've been stuck at 231-235 for a couple weeks now. I can't hit that magically 230 to be 50 pounds lost. Last weekend's trip didn't help, but I'll get there eventually. I need to work on some exercises to help strengthen my knees. My knees were sore after riding.
  14. How about the notorious hard twisting throttle from the older BMWs? Not something I want in a touring bike.
  15. Got the bike washed.Ordered a new Dunlop RS3 rear. Current tire inventory for 2017: 2 T30 EVO Rears 1 T30 EVO Front 1 RS3 Front 1 RS3 Rear The bike has a new T30 Front on it and a worn out PR4GT Rear.
  16. You're overthinking this way too much. I highly doubt you are going to be pushing the tire to it's limits even if the age did effect it. It's not like the tire was laying in the back of someone's truck with water in it for 3 years. It's been stored properly in a warehouse, and probably in better shape than the tires on new bikes on the showroom floor.
  17. Looks Beat To Shit Good Luck With Sale
  18. Made it home. What a fun weekend. 700+ miles total. Ran into a little bit of rain today and some wet roads. The bike is filthy, but I don't have the motivation to wash it today.
  19. Got a little over 400 miles in today through the WV/VA mountains and BRP with @2talltim.
  20. Rode mine to work this morning. I might wash the windshield before @2talltim and I go shred some WV mountain roads this weekend.
  21. 1) What action cam are you using on you bike today? GoPro Hero 3+ Silver2) What action cam do you wish you had instead? GoPro Hero 5 Black3) What options do you like most now and want to see in the future? The amount of accessories and options for the GoPro are endless. They are also dead simple to operate.4) And why? I received mine as a gift, so I have very little invested in it.
  22. I have a BMW half cover I use to really confuse people.
