  1. I plan to show up as long as the weather is good on Saturday. I am willing to lead a group. I’m not sure what you classify my pace as. If you’ve rode with me it will be my normal pace (medium fast🤷‍♂️). I cannot make Sunday, however.
  2. Remove this thread and reopen epic ride 🤷‍♂️
  3. I get what you’re saying but I’d be changing tires 3-6 times a season if I do this. I’ve had multiple sport touring tires that have done just fine for me. I think I may need to just make sure these tires are good and warm before I start leaning.
  4. Thanks for thinking of me boys. I feel special right now. I hiked my skirt up today, though. I put in 300 miles on 164, 9, 646, 213, and 170. Once I got off the damp roads from a rain that came through before my arrival the tires were decent. For now I plan to keep them on the bike. If I start to feel uncomfortable I have a new set of tires sitting in the basement.
  5. Never had much issues prior to these tires. I hope they get better. Time will tell.
  6. Clutch lever came in today. So, I took the bike out to get a better idea on these Roadsmart 2s. They definitely need to be heated up before put to use. I tried to pull the front wheel after squaring up of course out of the drive. Nothing but tire spin. It wasn’t mold release that caused it. I made a run the other day with the broken lever that should have cleaned that up. After a bit I started to push them in some curves near home and they felt okay. I doubt I will ever buy them again however. They are super hard and just not very grippy. Spooning on the rear was the biggest pain in the butt. I feel like the sidewalls on the things are so hard you could run them flat and not even notice. I know it’s not the most expensive tire but I’ve run Coni-motions and would take those over these things any day. Tomorrow I plan to head a little south and really test them out then make the decision whether to spoon on the Roadsmart 3s I already bought after these put me on my can.
  7. Agreed. So what office are you going to run for?
  8. @Tpoppa you are on a roll. When are you running for office?
  9. Damage I caused dropping it. Initial repair without go fast stickers. Completed with sticker cover ups. Just waiting on new clutch lever and pegs I ordered. It’s rideable as it sits. I had some pegs sitting around and the clutch lever is one of the cool kid shorty types now. Going to see if I can take it out for that shake down run into town to get fuel.
  10. May become standard procedure for me from here on out. Never had this problem before. Again sometimes we have to pay for education
  11. I typically have run Roadsmart 3s. I don’t feel I was aggressive leaving drive, but obviously I ended up on my can. My stupidity. Sometimes we have to pay for our education.
  12. I replaced tires yesterday. Threw on some Roadsmart 2s. Went to leave the drive for shakedown run and rear end slid out from under me. Broke clutch lever and foot peg, and busted up my left side fairings. So far not liking Roadsmart 2.
  13. Let me know. We can just do PayPal if you decide you want it.
  14. I have a full day certificate that needs to be used this year. Anybody interested?
  15. Looks like you’re really starting to slow down since you’ve been riding with those North Carolina boys.

    Saturday 6-6 ride

@Tonik you must have forgot, I’m cheap. I’d be looking at an early years GL1800. I’ve checked them out on marketplace and c-list. I’m thinking pick one up cheap at the end of the season. If nothing else it would make trips with my daughter easier. If it doesn’t work out I’ll turn around and sell it. Btw I do slow down with the wife. Tory not so much but she has a need for speed like her old man. Thanks for the offer to ride yours. @Pauly I have the cbr if I want to torture myself and my wife.

    Saturday 6-6 ride

So if I’m looking to ride 400-500 miles 2 up I should look at a Goldwing?

@2talltim have you done much 2 up on the Connie? If so, how was it? How long can you ride comfortably solo vs 2 up?

    Saturday 6-6 ride

Would love to but she is deathly afraid to ride even though back in the day her and I both had our own cbr600 F2s. She’s afraid to be a passenger or ride her own. Occasionally she’ll surprise me and say let’s take a ride to Geneva on the Lake or to dinner, but that’s a very rare occasion.

    Saturday 6-6 ride

I know last year there was some discussion about whether to post rides or not. I said then that I had never had a bad experience posting here and once again OR proved to be an awesome place to post a ride and meet new responsible riders. Pete @FatWilbur is a great guy and level headed rider. He did end up with a punctured tire on 676. Thankfully quoting @B-Mac Durk has a flashing strobe brake light and a huge DeadHookerBag on his seat rack that makes me think I am following "Biggie Smalls." in said bag and under my seat I have plugs and a compressor. In 10-15 minutes we were back up and running. Unfortunately later in day Pete was shredding the roads pushing me so hard his tire started to spit the plug and slowly leak, so he made the wise choice to make his way home. Most of the roads were in good shape today. 537 had some new pavement in the beginning but quickly fell to crap. It is scheduled to be closed soon. 377 continues to be one of my favorite roads.

Pete I’m glad you made it home safe. It was awesome to meet you and ride with you. You’re welcome to ride with me anytime.
