Doc if you're looking for somebody to go with you let me know when you plan to go and I'll see if I can make it happen.

It was a great way to spend 4 days. The favorite part is a tough question. I had so much fun through out the whole trip. I really enjoyed the new roads to me. 16 was great and I really enjoyed Tonik's route on day 3. I thought GA-60 was awesome it had some corners that I was really able to lay into and there was very little traffic. So I guess day 3 Tonik's route would be my favorite this time.

A lot of fresh pavement has been laid on 250. It did have a bit of gravel though. My guess is give it a few weeks and the gravel from the berms should hopefully be gone. I agree 250 is awesome and I had rode it in the past when it had 3 inch drops in the middle of the road. Definitely none of that at this point.

I guess u cud call the swing arm spools a comfort mod. On the highway I often throw my feet on them and lay on the tank.

Nope. Just bicycle shorts under my riding jeans.

So this past Wednesday I left for deals gap and returned on Saturday. I had a buddy with me on an Ultra Classic Harley. We left Wednesday from Jefferson and grabbed 250 in Wheeling, WV ran that to 79 to 19 to 16 south of Beckley based on Tonik's suggestion. 16 was a great call thank you sir. This lead into the Back of Dragon and to our hotel in Marion, VA. Over 500 miles and around 12 hrs. Day 2 was the Snake, BRP, Diamondback, and 4 trips through the tail, back to the hotel in Robbinsville, NC. Around 450 miles and 11hrs. Day 3 I once again took Tonik's route for highlands, blood Mtn, 68, 60, and Cherohala. We had to run it backwards to avoid rain. The hateful one @Tonik again did not disappoint. Thanks for the awesome route. We also ran the tail twice because my buddy wanted me to video him so he could show his grandkids. Saturday morning we left at 7 am and headed for home. We ran the Tail one more time and ran into no issues with traffic not sure what you guys are saying about all these problems with Saturdays on the Dragon. We then just slabbed it home. 626 miles in just over 9.5 hrs. Got sprinkled on just once with some damp roads on the whole trip. Awesome trip overall.

I just returned from a trip to the tail and took @Tonik suggestion of 16 south of Beckley. They say the guy is full of hate. That may or may not be true. All I know is the man can put together some killer routes. You will not be disappointed if the flooding did not take too much of a toll and if it is in your area to ride. Not sure exactly where Elkins is located.

Sold. Just a note to others out there selling bikes. Cycle Trader has free motorcycle ads. Kid that bought my bike found my ad there and was not a douche like many Craigslisters can be.

Thanks for saying exactly what I was thinking.

Not sure how to take this. Is it a Honda that he owns and your mocking Honda?
-
What sucks though is I can't ride with you guys Saturday. I have to go to a sticking 4h meeting for parents. I hate when being a parent gets in the way of riding.

Doc not sure how much of 260 you plan to ride, but it is closed a bit north of 26. Yesterday I took 800 to 26 south then was gonna run 260 north back to 145 but ran into a road closed sign. I did not run the detour, I just took 537? Back to 26 and ran back into Woodsfield.

Have a 2005 600rr I picked up to flip. For those of you that I have rode with this is not my bike. Mine is silver. Bike has 20,600 miles. I am asking $4100. Here is the Craigslist ad. http://ashtabula.craigslist.org/mcy/5634353557.html It should answer most questions. Feel free to contact me through the forum or Craigslist ad.

Noted. If weather is good I plan to be there. If there is any way to bump departure time back a bit that would be awesome. If not I can get my butt up at the crack of dawn for a good ride. I'll keep an eye on the forum for details for next week.

Derek would love to do this, but the wife already made plans that I know I can't get out of. Have fun. Enjoy the day.

I was thinking about picking up a rebuilt 1000rr and my insurance agent said Progressive would cover it with full coverage. Here was the catch, however, in the case of a claim there would be a significant decrease in value. They never gave me a specific number, nor did they answer my question if the premium would be lowered since the evaluation was lower.

I bought the Kevlar jeans from iron pony and really like them so far. They were $60, come with knee pads and have not been too hot for me. The warmest temp so far has been around 80 that I have rode with them on.
-
That pad is rough. I can see the bow in it from your picture. I used to do some construction with my dad back in the day. He would have killed me if I did work like that. Guys like this contractor used to tick my dad off to no end. They give other contractors a bad rep. Good luck with it. I hope it all comes out in the wash when it's all said and done.

I took a salvage bike years ago and converted it to rebuilt. Definitely need receipts, I did not have to have them notarized. If I remember correctly before I took it to be inspected I had to apply for some paperwork. I can't remember where or what exactly the paperwork was. I took the bike to Ravenna to be inspected. I would think your local title office could give you some advice. All in all it was a pretty painless process back in the late 90s when I did it.

If I read Warren's intro thread correctly he rode with @jacobhawkins. He could probably offer a recommendation on whether or not to make this trip.
-
Jeff it was nice to meet you. Wish I could have rode with you guys all day. Hopefully next time I can.

That's good that they are planning to cover stuff they already did. Says they are quality. I get what Pauly is saying about letting them handle it, but if their only answer is it was faulty parts I would be worried. I understand you can get faulty parts, but man I would hope they look deeper into it. Hope it all works out.

Still off topic. Tim are they charging you again to replace the same stuff?
