I would go after him in civil court and garnesh his wages. Teach the bastard a lesson or it's only going to get worse if he knows he can get away with more....

Next time it happens, get back on the gas ASAP....

What am I missing with this car? I've seen several 02-04 Z06's for around $30k or less but the mileage was under 15k. I thought the price was high if it has 60k on the clock.

Getting an out-of-state purchased car titled in Ohio

You guys are missing the point. If you don't have that stuff and the previous (claimed) owner isn't willing to give it, it is probably stolen. Call the authorities now unless you want to go to jail for receiving stolen property, etc..... -
sh.org has been back up for about a month now. I guess Dennis lost some employees and took some time off to get things straighted out. Everything seems to be back to normal from what I can tell....
-
Actually one of the guys over on suzukihayabusa.org came off of a BUSA at around 210mph and walked away. I think he is officially the first person to live through a 200+mph get off on a bike. It was a nasty nasty TURBO BUSA.... If you've got good gear and don't hit any SOLID objects, you are normally good to go....

I'm not really feeling Indiana either but my wife has a Hospital commitment in Dayton so I will have to stick it out for 2-years if I want to stay close to her. Otherwise me living in Texas and her in Dayton = SUCK!

YOu call the police..... j/k I would wonder about that, since that's some shaddy sounding stuff (I.e.stolen?)..... -
Not to mention you can race between 4 and 6 wide in some places.... Sorry back on topic.... I like Cleveland and Columbus both; it's just that Cleveland is to damn COLD for me in the winter and I wish Columbus had a little better car scene. I plan to live in Columbus when I get out of the military depending on the job openings. Otherwise it will be Texas, Indiana or maybe Florida for me.....
-
Just about every city has that law. The only problem is people don't follow it and LAW ENFORCEMENT doesn't enforce it in Dayton/Columbus from what I've seen.... If they start ticketing people for it and get the info on the local news, shit will change real quick. Not to mention you will get shot at, run off the road or roadraged for pulling that shit in Texas. It doesn't matter if you are going 90mph in Texas, someone will pass you.

You can do it but I've seen Turbo 600's before and they aren't much fun. You would have to lower the compression and build the bottom end to hold any kind of power. Even then you are only looking at around 180rwhp if you are lucky and not going to crazy. The main problem is the way the Turbo spools combined with the 10,000-15,000 power band on the 600's which make for a bottle rocket ride/power band. Not to mention the short wheel base and swing-arm. You'll have more into the Turbo and motor build than the entire bike. You would be better off just buying a 1000cc bike and doing something with it. Not to mention you would be way ahead of the game for a lot less time and money invested. The 600 would be a heck of a sleeper if you could control it.... Then again a Turbo 1000cc bike is a handful also....
-
I think it will go faster than mid-12's but you will have to launch the crap out of it. Mid-low 11's should be possible..... I wouldn't even bother with a TURBO since it would cost more than it's worth and you would have a hard to ride and not fun power band. I would just buy it cheap and sell high like most other people have stated. You should be able to make at least $1k on it.

I would be very careful telling them you have had laser surgery done to your eyes. I don't know what branch you are looking into (USAF here) but I know of several people that were disqualified BECAUSE they had it done prior to completing pilot training. They were withdrawn from pilot training on the spot. Get through training with your contacts/glasses, whatever and then have the military pay for it if you ever plan to go that route....
-
You forgot the most important part, the pre-race dumb (free weight savings).... Good run Sam, looks like a STRONG car!
-
Nice run Sam! Seems like you got it figured out and running STRONG!

If you plan on joining the military EVER make sure you do the research. If you plan to fly or do any form of combat over FL180, one of them will eliminate you from the program. I can't remember if it's PKI or Laser but one DNF's you FOREVER AND you have to do it while IN THE SERVICE. You can't have it done prior and then join up, that also eliminates you....

buyfordmotorsports I believe is the website. If not look in anyone Mustang magazine. You can get them brand new for like $125 a wheel and I think the 17x10.5 are around $175.

Are you sure about Bob running three seasons with the IRS? I thought it was less than that before he switched to the solid axle and that's when he started breaking the factory stock records going 11's N/A with a stock motor. He also wasn't running a stock IRS. He had the Pauls brace and a few other things to make the car work before on the 1/4-mile and not hop. Besides with slicks or some good drag radials the hop is almost non-existent on a well prepped drag strip like he was racing on. It will be a different world on the street.... I couldn't remember exactly what was different on the motor because it's been years since I have really been into the Mustang scene but I remember tid bits. I knew the heads were different but couldn't remember what it was. I know they also run different cams from the 99/01 cars.
-
I believe the 99/01 heads are different than the 03/04 also. The intake may work but I don't know if it's an exact match for better power. It's a lot of work to convert a 99/01 car over to a Eaton/ROOTS setup. It would be A LOT easier for him to just stick with a Vortec or something that is a quick bolt-on compared to swapping intakes, alternate, engine cover, etc..etc.... I still think he needs to setup the rear end before he adds more power. Unless he plans to Auto-X or do highway races the IRS will pop.....
-
Why would you ever want to do that to a 99/01 car? I would recommend him to get a basic Vortec or Turbo kit and keep the boost low. He's going to have to build the motor for anything past around 450rwhp on the 99 motor anyway so no need for a big KB or something when he can't run high boost with. Not to mention if he wants to make serious power down the road, he'll already have the stock intake he needs on the 99 instead of having to switch twice if he goes with a ROOTS type blower now. Let him know the 99/01 IRS won't hold anything for power and he will be snapping axles left and right unless he converts to a 03/04 style or puts a solid axle in it. I would stay away from a OEM Eaton blower. If cost was a factor and he wanted to go cheap, I would go that route but.....since you said money isn't an issue I would just get him what he wants now to build upon down the road. If it was me: Solid axle rear w/4:10's, Vortec, exhaust, 9" wheels/tires and then see what his needs are after that....

Become friends with someone in the military going to Germany. Last Christmas we brought back 2-palets stacked to the cealing with any kind of beer/liquor you could think of without any problems.
-
I think it's kind of odd that his Mets Manager/Coach, whatever lived in the building and that his altitude dropped quickly when he got in the vicinity of the building....?!?! He also just got his pilots license in the last off season.....hmmm....???

Well I guess I took your post the wrong way similar to what you did with mine. No biggie as I guess I took my crappy day yesterday in this shit hole country out on you. 1. I assumed you worked for Saturn since you posted something about a deal on one. 2. I wasn't referring to the size of the building but how well known it was. As in NATION/STATE WIDE and everyone knows who they are and what kind of business/deals they run. 3. You are still thinking small town. I buy cars across the country for the best deal so the local "Ambridge" program, I don't follow. I go for the best deal regardless... 4. You are still making money by financing the customer. If the buyer shops around, he can normally NOT pay that additional fee. 5. It doesn't have anything to do with begging for the deal. It's called right and wrong and sleeping well at night and not screwing good people over. I wish I could play with figures like that in my line of work. Luckily lives are more valuable than some of these shaddy car dealers. If you aren't one of them, great! 6. Good for you! 7. I'm hostile, ha....funny! He received a both sides of the coin reply which was the point of his post. Good luck with selling cars and have a nice day.....

Where did I say anything of the sort? Did I SAY ALL SALES PEOPLE, NO! I was referring to the CAR SALESMAN majority that are out to screw you......

If you didn't want a response from me then you shouldn't have QUOTED my post, plain and simple. Since I didn't mention anything about a down payment, you had no reason to quote it. If you didn't like my statement about having a dealer finance him, tough luck. Just like you said BANKS have first time buyer programs, NOT DEALERS.....BANKS! Dealers get a cut on any financing they establish for a buyer so if he shops around he will beat a dealer price 99% of the time UNLESS it is on a new vehicle for ZERO % financing or he just has plain jacked up credit (NOT LOW CREDIT). If you think I'm judging you, you will have a long hard life ahead of you over one post on the internet, PLEASE.....GET REAL! The point is, I have not once had a dealer offer me a straight up out the door deal WITHOUT having to break there arm for it. They are out to make $$$$ and they normally don't care how. Yes, the first car I bought the dealer tried to screw me. Thinking I wouldn't get the OASIS report for the vehicle or do any research on the car. They got egg on there face and had to take the car back AND return my money, I guess they showed me. :jerkit: As for your Core Credit Union experience, who the heck is that? Maybe if you would have tried a large and well know Credit Union and not some small town joby that no one has heard off, you would have gotten some loan history. Maybe you should take your own advice.... FYI, you don't deal with people like me everyday because I would NEVER buy a POS Saturn. Good day!
