Problem is Hennessy want $1M+ to build one not including upgrades. You'd be better off buying another GT or another platform and starting over IMO. It will cost more in the long run if you don't start with a GT but it's possible if you've got the funds and balls..

VW has lots like this all over the country. Until they decide what they are going to do with them, they just sit. My guess is they are trying to work something out with the new administration. If they can't keep, fix and resell them here then they will go to another country IMO.

With the right conditions I think we'll see it very soon... Combination of power, aero and support.....not to mention the cost and most people don't have the desire to run that fast. Kelly Bise was the only competition with the Camaro and once it was totaled they haven't got the Vette near that level. Even the UGR guys said, that's just to fast. They are going for 250MPH in 1/2-Mile and have no desire to push the Mile speeds unless another customer comes along requesting it... Yes but the biggest advantage is the aerodynamics of the FORD GT... It's the fastest piston engine car in 1-Mile as well as fastest FORD GT or anything else... If they can get the launch down a little better and turn it up, we'll see over 300MPH but they already don't have tires rated for what they are doing. They are pushing into a zone that's never been tested so though they want to go faster it's also a little scary finding the limits for everyone else to follow...

Several companies will give you an aftermarket warranty on these modded cars but like anything lots of restrictions and limits on them.. It was already said but they aren't doing any deals. You can actually buy the cars fairly easy for INVOICE price from many dealers and depending on rebates can get them for a few grand under invoice. All they are doing is financing the mods into the price and nothing more...

I went through this same debate in November. You can find them for MSRP fairly easy and if you really shop you can get one at invoice since a lot of people have backed out on orders. I like them a lot but for a DD they ride pretty stiff and besides the seats I couldn't get over the terrible and cheap feeling interior. I ended up picking up an R for invoice from MAG and have been very happy with it. If you need more room I'd recommend a Chevrolet SS. GM was offering 20% off until March 13th so you could have got one for $38-40k depending on options but good luck finding one now.
